The deeres at least here in texas are king ... our largest earth moving company in the dfw area (Rodman) has 7 brand new cat m series that they traded in for deere motor graders.... they are almost all deere in the motor grader department.
O.K., no efence but I think cat has a way better system, just 2 joystics! it way less complicated ans easer to operate.... as this video shows, you can screw up esily, as he did... a few times!
i would rather run this new deere style than the joystick M's. just like this guy said, you dont have to relearn how to run a machine you spent your entire life learning in the first place. im all about the "old" caterpillar blades but the new deere would be my final choice. thats just me though. :)
Not sure, but probably just for the safety of customers reviewing the machines at Deere's Sacaton demo area. There were other machines operating, and this one was standing by for close inspection. Don't guess Deere wanted anyone turning the engine over with their own universal key while somebody else had their head under the hood.
Very interesting, but I like my Cat 16M better. I have no problem w/ the lever steering on a slope. We have a Cat 16H for a spare, no problem when i have to run the older grader.
masar 66 - I'm sure we'd all love to see some video or pictures of Mattsson and Vammas graders with joysticks from the 80s, or even Volvo's from five years back. Did Volvo actually sell that joystick machine in Sweden? I thought the ones we saw back then were pre-production development machines.
M series G series ??? jesus can anyone still operate or what or have they all turned GAY hahaha I can still operate a 17k ? and a dozer and a scraper and and
There's nothing like a Deere ! Period !

Grader operators want lighter efforts and shorter throws... not a new pattern to learn. CAT 0, Deere 1
