@vunderground1 it'll probably be pushed back to november 2011. It was supposed to come out at the end of 2006, but it kept being pushed back and pushed back. I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't come out till 2015

@xAcxDcx Before this comes out, they 're about to release a new IL 2 UBER PATCH that will add and change a looot :) as I heard when this comes out there will still be IL 2 players (il 2 has so many mods etc so many planes) So it will tkae a while before the whole Il2 community moves to Storm of war plus many still got weak pc's so Il2 will always have players , bet it will even after months of this game release.

@TucoBenedictoPax Meanwhile, before this get Il2 :) Many play it online it's on STEAM, il-2 sturmovik, it also has some huge mods like ULTRA PACK which adds a lot of new planes plus some settings to even make the graphics better and it's the best AIR SIM, so far (same devs as this one I guess) This ain't out yet so Il2's on top for now.

the damage model (DM) for all aircraft in SoW, doesn't matter is it flyable or AI, is way more complex than in Il-2 Sturmovik 1946 for flyable aircraft there. It is combined with the best DM of Il-2 1946 for the most complex modeling there with the new features that will show the actual hit for each bullet.

Internal construction of aircraft is the most complex on the market of the WWII fligth sims.

a rank system in multiplayer with statitistics where u can deserve medals and awards for your kills would make this game more realistic and u have more fun i the multiplayer part. The grafic looks awesome. Indeed it willl be the best part of il2. thats the result of long hard work and the reward for this long time waiting ... GJ

Yeah do not buy from alienware, it's a big rip-off from hell. I got a pretty decent quad core a couple years ago and it's not alienware and it was maybe 1/3 the price of an alienware and mine is going strong even to this day.

Yes, online play will be beyond anything we have experienced so far.

It is a highly improved version of Il2. For online play, Il2 is currently one of the best, if not THE best. That is pretty good for a game that is almost 10 years old.

The new Il2, or Storm of War, as it will be called, is light years ahead of anything else.

I liked Fighter ace (feel of Flight ) but the grafix were old They never listened to want the customer wanted and now there gone ..please don't add 1950's jets lol no mig's or sabre's People get bored of the same dogfights ..more ground things are fun to hit too ..city's tanks, people trainyards boats, ..and maybe leveling up with exp for better planes or buy

Storm of War is a simulation so there is no money to buy better planes. That is an arcade feature. Storm of War will have planes available for the time period in history. You don't buy them.

@freakyflow There is no release date at this time. The plan is to release Storm of War for the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain which is September of this year but no guarantees. Oleg Maddox says it is ready when it's finished. I am not aware of any plan for a Beta. There simply isn't enough time for that. but the question is: is this all effects? or will it actually cause damage to the plane?

i mean after turbulance like that and especially high G manuvers the strees put on the aircraft is immense, so things like little screwes inside the pit start to come lose. so does the game simulate something like this? a better exampe would be: the high G causes the artificial horizon to malfunction and stop, will this kinda thing be simulated?

Alienware is just a brand which is extremly high priced by DELL. If you know your stuff on computer sepccs you can pick together parts as good as any Alienware comp for a lot less money.

Oleg has been quoted, saying that it is unlikely that there will be a consumer PC existing when this game launches, that will run it at its highest settings, But that it will still look gorgeous with the settings turned down. The cockpits and water look amazing. I think the landscape and objects still need some work though. the planes and water look so realistic and the landscape, while detailed, still looks a bit cartoonish.
