@rwargo24 Fairly standard practice. There's about 20 different themes that end up being used for almost all film soundtracks. There's a piece by Randy Edelman from the film 'Come See the Paradise" that's probably been used 40 or 50 times. Ironically, songs from the Backdraft soundtrack (written by Hans Zimmer) have also been used on other film trailers.

i love the Universal Studios fire show for this movie!! It's a whole choreographed burning of inside a building and it gets closer and closer to the audience (with explosions and giant set pieces flying everywhere)!! Pretty stunning!! I used to go to it ALLLLLL the time as a kid with my season pass ... haha. They talk about the movie right after the fire show, ALL THE FIRE IN THE MOVIE WAS REAL!!!! HOW DID THEY DO IT???????

my father was a firefighter now i do it it is how i met my soon to be husband and our little girl is showing an intersed in doing it one day. firefighting has brought joy into my life. it gave me another tight knit family that some of the greatest people. being a firefighter it make you learn things about yourself. and it shows what your really made of. my heart is alwas with my fellow brothers and sisters in this job

Backdraft was ridiculously unrealistic ("fire is alive"--bunch of bullshit), but it still love it. I saw it on the big screen with my dad when I was a kid, now I'm the 3rd generation of the family to be a firefighter. All these years later and I still cry when I see the ending.

Seems like a lot of the new kids these days don't really have the commitment and work ethic it takes, though. How can I trust a kid who sits on his ass when he should be working, studying, or training? How can I trust a kid who, in a RIC drill, abandons her crew and the downed FF (can you say "what the fuck?"). So many of them just don't get it.

this movie got me an B in sci class in 11th grade. i did a report on backdrafts and the sci behind them. after the report i showed a part of the movie where tim gets burned. the teaher loved the whole deal she even rented the movie to see the rest. i'm one of those people who belive firefighting got better after this movie because everyone wanted to be a firefighter. now after 9/11/01 more people are aware of the dangers that are faced by firefighters. god bless all of my bro and sis
