@rwargo24 Fairly standard practice. There's about 20 different themes that end up being used for almost all film soundtracks. There's a piece by Randy Edelman from the film 'Come See the Paradise" that's probably been used 40 or 50 times. Ironically, songs from the Backdraft soundtrack (written by Hans Zimmer) have also been used on other film trailers.
@ersatzelvis I guess it was more obvious to me when it was scenes from a movie I really like being combined with a score from another movie I really like.
@folladordeprostis way better..ladder 49 cant compete with this excellent movie that ive been watching since i was 3..13 years ive been watching this and i can recite every line..definetly worth ur time
i love the Universal Studios fire show for this movie!! It's a whole choreographed burning of inside a building and it gets closer and closer to the audience (with explosions and giant set pieces flying everywhere)!! Pretty stunning!! I used to go to it ALLLLLL the time as a kid with my season pass ... haha. They talk about the movie right after the fire show, ALL THE FIRE IN THE MOVIE WAS REAL!!!! HOW DID THEY DO IT???????
my husband is telling about a movie that a firefighter talkswith his dead father through a radio. Is this the one? I'm really tired of looking for it, but i'm very curious about the movie.
How fitting is it that Bruce Hornsby and the Range contributed "The Show Goes On" on the Backdraft soundtrack. Reason it's so fitting is that Bruce Hornsby's real name is Bruce COCKBURN!!!
Backdraft is an unrealistic movie, they running with open coat and without scba, in a real life you have a low visibility for the smoke conditionand a lot of heat. But I still love o see this movie.
Yeah, but how fucking boring would it be for guys to run around in full SCBA, nobody knowing what the fuck they're saying. Remember, it's hollywood. Awesome movie, not real procedure!!
I would like to see that. There are only a handful of real footage of actual work being done. They are only documentaries let me add. I would like to see a realistic FDNY movie and a movie without Baldwin because he sucked in this movie. Even Ladder 49 wasn't as realistic but it was getting there.
my father was a firefighter now i do it it is how i met my soon to be husband and our little girl is showing an intersed in doing it one day. firefighting has brought joy into my life. it gave me another tight knit family that some of the greatest people. being a firefighter it make you learn things about yourself. and it shows what your really made of. my heart is alwas with my fellow brothers and sisters in this job
I still can't find this song to save my life!!! But still best movie in the world. From one firefighter to another you guys keep it safe and let me know if you know what this music is
Backdraft was ridiculously unrealistic ("fire is alive"--bunch of bullshit), but it still love it. I saw it on the big screen with my dad when I was a kid, now I'm the 3rd generation of the family to be a firefighter. All these years later and I still cry when I see the ending.
Man, I wish my department would issue traditional helmets instead of phoenixes...
these people are really a rare kind of people they never ask questions they just do what they are trained to do. i feel pride with the honor guard because we repersent everything these people do fo us. at a service i was told we never plan on becomming a firefighter the job deside who it wants, and more people need to pay respects to those who are no longer here on earth as well as those who are still here. never forget those who are gone
i belive you haven't lived untill you have been a firefighter. this movie and 9/11 help me deside this is where i want to go in life. and 9/11/06 i fought a fire in the area. there is no feeling like know those who went before ya are still with us on a call. and next to firefighting i'm in the firefighters honor guard.
I don't know about the "haven't lived" part. The job ain't for everybody, but I sure as hell don't want to do anything else.
Seems like a lot of the new kids these days don't really have the commitment and work ethic it takes, though. How can I trust a kid who sits on his ass when he should be working, studying, or training? How can I trust a kid who, in a RIC drill, abandons her crew and the downed FF (can you say "what the fuck?"). So many of them just don't get it.
watch this sine i was 3... woulda seen it at least 2000 or 3000 times - favourite movie, despite some firefighting inaccuracies. unfortunately i cant go back n watch it for first time again lol... kno it word for word!
This is a great trailer, but unfortunately it's not the whole thing. I'm looking into how to transfer from VHS to my computer, as soon as I figure it out, I'm throwing up the entire thing.
this movie right here is wht made me deside to become a firefighter. it maybe an olddie but it is a goodie. this movie will alwas be my favorit movie of all time
this movie got me an B in sci class in 11th grade. i did a report on backdrafts and the sci behind them. after the report i showed a part of the movie where tim gets burned. the teaher loved the whole deal she even rented the movie to see the rest. i'm one of those people who belive firefighting got better after this movie because everyone wanted to be a firefighter. now after 9/11/01 more people are aware of the dangers that are faced by firefighters. god bless all of my bro and sis

i don't care what people say this is the best movie ever. this movie right here is what helped me to deside on becoming a firefighter. and i love what i do i love my department they are my family. this movie gives a somewhat of an idea what we go through. most people i know love this movie as well.
i agree with you i love this movie i saw it so many times when i was about a little younger (23) now..I acted some parts of the movie with a plastic fire hat for fun and no every part to this movie!!!! its great
