  • This just sent chills down my spine, especially watching so many people join in. This really is a song that brings hope, joy and pride at being an Australian.

  • I am deeply moved by this version of the song. :'/

  • How is everyone not crying in the audience? I'm crying and I'm at home in bed. So moving.

    WE ARE AUSTRALIAN

  • Claire Woodley has a unique vocal and pitch resembling that of Dolly Parton. I think she would make a great country music singer.

  • absolutely should be the national anthem

  • What a voice!

  • @walkabout09 we really need to do both and get rid of the british tramp stamp, and while we are at it lets become a republic! XD

  • what's a "bushy"?

  • @skittification Ah skiddy haven't talked to you in a while. A bushy is someone who lives in the bush. I thought you hate us Aussies?

  • @MsSloppyseconds

Jeez mate rock erosion is quicker than you. I thought you had definitely been flushed down the dunny by now.

Stop fucking about now, you know a "bushy" is a Sheila who doesn't shear her pubic hair.

I don't hate Aussies, I find you amusing.

  • @skittification How am I slow? I was just watching this video and saw your comment. If your perverted maybe but not if your mental age is over 3.

  • @MsSloppyseconds

No mate, I reckon it took you the 5 months since my comment to come up with a response.

You don't have to be perverted or have a mental age of 3 to be as s.low as you. You just need to be slow

  • @skittification I forgot about ya tbh, I thought we had stopped talking. Anyway what response? I told you have a bushy was, you sad your somthin, just want someone to talk to? ;)

  • @MsSloppyseconds

You initiated this exchange over a comment made 5 months ago.

When you get excited your written English is indecipherable.

If you just want some one to talk to, go out to the sheep fold. You can bleat at them, and they will all bleat right back. That should amuse you for hours.

  • @skittification Did I? Why did you ask the question again? Why would I get excited talking to you? ;) I'm fine I was watching a doco when you replied. Do you like that wool that you rest your head on every night?

  • @MsSloppyseconds

    Yes you did.

I don't know why you would get excited, but you were, as is evidenced by your gibberish.

  • @skittification Can you track what I said down? I would love to see what I wrote.

  • Anyone who didn't shed tears is a bastard.

  • I am from the Confederate states of America (No Yank), I love this song, and when my country falls, I will become and Australian... If you take a Johnny Reb. I will place this song next to Kelly's Irish Brigade or the Bonnie Blue Flag...

  • This should be our national anthem. Advance australia fair is too hard for kids to understand... this is wa better!!! WOOOOO GO BRUCE WODLEY

  • Beautiful song! It should definitely be Australia's new national anthem.

  • Im so proud to be Australian. Words cant even explain how proud I feel,

  • we share a dream and sing with one voice

  • I might be a kiwi but I love this song and what a beautiful tribute. Thank you

  • damn bkack saturday. i suddenly knew by the gold ribbon.

  • Definitely should be our national anthem. It is the one song that we can all identify with and be proud to sing.

  • I find it so amazing how these songs makes you feel so proud everytime you hear it. and the new verses show just how close australians are=]

  • I love how everyone stood up as if it is our national anthem!

    RIP

  • @kingbobiii people take this song as being more important than our actual national anthem. countrys from overseas know this song way more than the actual anthem.

  • this should be our national anthem. it makes you proud, the other one, you dont feel anything

  • AMEN

  • @emmarox4eva true!

  • @emmarox4eva that would make me enjoy singing this anthem:)

  • @emmarox4eva wrong, you do feel something. You feel awkward. This song would be an excellent replacement.

  • @emmarox4eva I agree this should be, but if you feel nothing for Advance Australia Fair, I don't think you belong here.

  • @emmarox4eva THis is complicated to pick :D

Qantas - I still Australia Home

    Australian - I am Australian

  • what a bloody rippa!

    i loved that!

    RIP to all the victims!

and a heart flet good onya to all the fire fighters and heros!

  • amazing song, but at 5:42 the southern cross is backwards

  • thats because its a flag reflecting on the other side,

  • Greetings and respect to you in Australia from here in Wales. You are an awesome people.

  • this song is beautiful. i am australian but wasnt there when this terrible thing happened, im only 14 and at the time when i found out i was shocked but i didnt cry, when i heard this song i burst out into tears. this is a wonderful song.

  • Beautiful!

May the people who lost their lives Rest In Peace

We are here for the survivours

  • this is a very beautiful song. i know people who have been lost in the fire.

this song is very stirring, it gave me goosebumps! i just want to say thank you to every australian out there who has been there for someone in need. our characters and compassion are relly tested in these troubled times.

  • God bless you

good comment i am proud to be australian

  • I lost 4 people to the fires, and when I heard this, I burst into tears. It is such a beautiful song, and the government are idiots for not making this the National Anthem. Advance Australia Fair is based on an old British Navy song. I Am Australian is a much better choice for an anthem, and I agree with NightDweller, I feel proud to be Aussie when I sing this song, but our current Anthem makes me feel like we're always going to be convicts of the British sovereignty

  • That was beautiful. Whenever i hear the National Anthem i don't feel proud to be Australian, but when i hear this song...i really do. It represents Australia so well - it should the be National Anthem. I was reading the paper the other day and it said the Prime Minister's representative told the media that the matter of I AM AUSTRALIAN of being the anthem is closed for good, and i remember thinking-shouldn't the citizens of Australia decide that???

  • Wow.

  • A wonderful tribute to the great people of

Australia and esp. the ones that lost loved

ones and the firefighters etc. of your great

    nation! God Bless!

    Thank you Geena for sharing.

  • Beautiful, just beautiful. I don't think I've ever seen Australians as willing to stand for our National Anthem as they were for this moment. How proud of my homeland I am. Love to all Vics.

  • Since I first heard this song as a very young woman I have listed it as my top choice for our anthem. It is beautiul, inclusive and easy to remember.

  • A wonderful tribute to all those people who lost their lives in the fires . May their families find peace and comfort from this

    Thanks Geena for the share

  • A very sad time indeed....My thoughts my prayers have, and will always be with you.

A lovely song tribute.God Bless you all....

Thank you Geena for sending it to me.....

    .....Colin.

  • Very moving kyrics like "We are one; we are many" confirm my belief that Australians are folks who come together as one, because they are that already. God Bless your country and those "lost" loved one's from the fires.

They are, from aloft, looking down at their Country folk with pride knowing that 'that undefineable' Australian character will endure. Though their lives were taken, they know that, deep in the hearts of fellow Country-folk, their dreams, ambitions and ideals are "alive".

  • I am you are we are Australians thanks

  • it was a great disaster. we donated and support many.

WE ARE AUSTRALIA AND WE ARE PROUD TO BE AUSTRALIANS

  • This made me cry, it's so sad seeing all those innoncent people die in the fires, I love Australia! Ï am, you are, we are Australian!

  • Even though I'm Dutch, my heart belongs to Australia. This song is on my iPod and I choke up everytime I hear it. This version sung by the writer, his daughter and Kinglake survivors is absolutely amazing. My heart goes out to everyone affected by this tragedy.

"We are one, but we are many..."

  • Australia is still my home, even though I live in NZ.

    Nice clip .....

  • Although I am not an Australian, when I was watching the live through tv, I brusted into tears.

    God bless Australia

  • I sat down and whtched this on t.v and cryed the hole time. my heart gose out to the victorian people, the people who have lost loved one's and the onse who have lost houses and belonging, i'm going to be honest i can not imagin how hard it is for you all, even those who havn't been near the fiers, just knowing how distructive fiers can be. Australia will satnd behind you in surport, i'm from W.A and i know most the schools hear are fund raising, My heart is with you all.

  • I think this video really shows what Australia is about.

    I love you Australia.

  • got goosebumps

  • I watched the 1st half of the service on TV and managed to pick the second half of it up on radio. This song made the hairs on my neck stand up I had it up so loud n i sang it so loud with so much pride you could of heard it in on the other side of the world. We are the lucky country times are tough we stick together. To all those who lost there lives you will never be forgotten and all those who helped THANK YOU. AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE

  • oi oi oi

  • amazing.

  • Brilliant

  • Just beautiful, thanks for putting this up for the world to see.

  • i was lucky enough to be at the rehearsal on the previous day, brings me to tears every time i hear it

  • Fires have started up in other areas too now and my daughter can see the flames coming over the Dandenong ranges. I am only a few klm away from there, more houses have gone up. They have over 700 fire trucks fighting just one blaze, damn, Melbourne city and surrounds will be all thats left of this beautiful state the way its going.

  • Thank you for reminding me how proud I am for being an AUSTRALIAN....... bless those who are rebuilding their lives may their lives be richly blessed with love and hope for a better future.

  • Now is the time. Although a telco and a politician used or attempted to use the song for their own personal gain, the memorial singing of this song purified it of any taint. it may have had.

Now is the time for national campaign to have this as our National Anthem.

    Go Well; Stay Well;

    Stay True Blue

  • I've never seen in my life such a moving song like this. Everytime I listen or song this song. it makes me goosebumps and envy on how patriotic and nationalist Australians are...Aussie Aussie Aussie...oi oi oi

  • Thank you for sharing this wonderful and heart filled song.

  • Just so wonderful and moving. Our prayers and support remain will all affected in Victoria.

  • I am so proud to be australian, i watched the memorial service & was choked with tears during the whole event, but when this song was sang tears just flowed, especially when the 2 survivors came on

Thank you just doesn't seem enough for all the firefighters and emergency workers have done

To people who have lost loved ones, pets properties & business, my sincere condolences, I hope that u will find peace and happiness again

This song should b our anthem

Aussie Aussie Aussie OI OI OI

  • I've thought for years that this should be our anthem, it has always brought me to tears and made me so proud.

  • This was very emotional to watch,we in europe have seen what's happend in Victoria and our thoughts are with the aussies.Bless the victims.

  • Oh my goodness. This was quick! Thanks for uploading this. I hope this song brings peace, happiness and relief from the pain and suffering that these bushfire victims have suffered.

  • the bushfire memorial has been an example of the pride of Australians as a people, the meaning of the real aussie spirit to stand as one in the hard times! it has also been a very good mediatic event: sober but at the same time full of hope even in such tragic ciscumstance.

you're the best nation and people in the whole world. respect to australians and RIP all the victorians who have lost their lives.

    an italian bloke.

p.s.: what's the name of the writer/singer of this amazing song ?

  • Bruce Woodley

  • I was in the choir, ppl around me were crying, I just got Australian PR few monthes ago, and I was so excited to be part of this service, I even did not know the lyrics, but I followed my chorus mates.

    Unforgattable expeirence.

  • i can say i am proud to be australian i would like to take the oppurtunity to thank all the firefighters and emergency services people for there efforts and my heart goes out to all people effected by these fires and may this be a symbol of how the efforts of all australians can change things .

  • I remember one image in the slideshows of only one green tree left in the entire forest, which was really amazing

  • Thank you for posting this. I watched the memorial online (from the UK) and this was definitely the most moving part of the service.

  • Ahhh so glad someone uploaded this. I thought it was a great way to end the memorial service. Bruce is a song-writing god this version is as great as the original. Should definitely be the natinoal anthem :) Best wishes to those affected by the bushfires I pray you find peace and love
