Far be it for me to argue with this woman, but.....that IS NOT Orange Beef. It is Orange flavored STEAK. I think people carry this healthy eating crap a bit far. One must realize that food is a great part of LIFE, without it, you would DIE. So you should enjoy it when you eat it, not just suffer through another hamster meal. Of course you should not pig out, but do enjoy yourself while you are here. I don't think they serve steak on the other side.
They had an episode of this show on A flight I was taking to London on British Airlines... I really liked it.. but completly forgot what it was called.. and now I have stumbled on this while searching for something else I'm so glad I did!
to be fair, some of you guys are right, what she cooks are not authentic at all and she is not real Chinese either, doesn't speak proper Chinese, is not that pretty, but I have to say she has her own charm.
just enjoy her charm and recipe.
She is a banana, yellow outside, white inside, she doesn't have even a little exotic accent and i am sure there are so many Chinese girls who are prettier and better at cooking than she is.
@kardas666 well, for reasons of honesty, I should imagine that the alternatively thinkable utterance: [...] a good peace of MEAT...would have come even closer to her innermost notion...
She doesn't sound like a Ching He. She sounds more like a Mrs. Rutherford B. Carpington III. Maybe with an 'esquire' tacked on. Still, excellent recipe!
I admit this looks delicious BUT it's NOT authentic Chinese food at all!! Stop teaching Chinese food by someone who is not growing in a real Chinese food environment!
i don't think they are the same, Nigella has this certain feeling that this woman does not have, plus she doesn't go fridge raiding at the middle of the night hah
@dave597 Really doubtful about being paid by Taiwan Tobacco& Liquor company- TTL (as you can see printing on the cap) they don't really do much export and relatively rare too. not really cost effective to advertise in a market where you're not planning on expanding rapidly.
@XPoChangLinX lol it was just a joke, because, do u know she mentions it and puts it in every single dish to add 'flavour', either that or shes an alcoholic
Can she cook without using Xiaoshing wine? O.o
She uses too much wine and corn starch crap in her recipes.

She said authentic in flavor, not cooking style. Sounds like a divine unique approach for a steak dinner with mushrooms.
