When I first heard the song, I thought it had a punk rock sound and video style similar to the band The Ramones.

A "rip off" is a blatant copy of the tune and music, like Toto Cutugno's "Lasciateme Cantare" being ripped off in "Nasha yeh pyaar ka nasha hai" in some Indian movie. "Kinda Similar" is more like adapting a guitar riff, a drum beat sequence or some other portion of one song into another,Metallica have done this sort of thing in a lot of their songs. As for the song in question "Welcome To Paradise",I didn't see any similarity.

This is not by any means grunge, it is alternative rock. And yes, its an amazing song, not many good rock songs have come out in indian cinema since Rock On, but this song(in my opinion) is better than any of them!
