It was released in Japan, Europe, Australia and a few other PAL countries. If you're in America you need either a PAL PS2 or some sort of converter. The PSP version only came out in those regions too but you can just import since all PSP stuff is region free.
i think the developers originally owned the tenchu franchise but got sold out. they wanted a ninja game that would be as good as their original masterpiece, and the result was shinobido. although not as good, this game is still pretty good.
In my opinion Shinobido, aside from some magic powers and etc..of course obviously it's a fantasy game based on real ninja life, it's way more real than Tenchu on how ninjas did the dirty work for Feudal Lords. You need to be aware that Asuma clan from Tenchu and Asuka from Shinobido had different jobs.

Two words that Shinobido has over every ninja game to date.
"Mosu Ninja"
Cmon a ninja clan full of nothing but chicks, and if you watch them long enough they begin exercising. words can't describe how epic that is.

I love the music in the opening, beautiful. The PSP version uses the same song on the title screen.

Sorry, my mistake. The Japanese version will run fine since US and JAP both NTSC but the PAL won't unless you follow the above. Cheers.

yep! but this game is like ImpossibleMegaSupaNinja, u can run... the wind speed, on the wall. . . so i prefer tenchu cause that's more real
