The fretboard wood MAYBE changes the tone by about 0.0007%. You can't tell the difference in sound anywhere near as much as the difference that pick, strings, electronics, cable, and amp make.

And to finish the argument, tone is most affected by ten things. They're at the end of your hands.

Thanks for this video Jason! Carvin is the ONLY guitar manufacturer that you can have a custom made guitar at a standard off the shelf priced guitar. If I cold ever find a Carvin dealer here in Canada I would own about 5 Carvin's !

i know it's a picky thing, but i don't like the headstock on this guitar. compared with the body it just looks small and awkward. kinda like jason's head compared to his hair.

@Face0fRoadkill1213 Because Carvin is a custom shop they offer a lot of other headstocks as well. It just happens he had this one on this guitar. If you were buying your own you could pick different ones.

I'm ordering my Carvin 624M next month. I call it my PR Killer. I know a few people who own Carvin guitars and amps. f you added all the custom features of the Carvin on a Gibson or a PRS it would be 5000.00 Check out The Tone Kings 30 pedals in 30 days vids. He is using a Carvin V3 amp head. Sounds great! Under a grand too.

It might be the amp settings, but to me the guitar sounds a bit 'dead' and lifeless, (yes I know you were damping a lot of the time), and a bit characterless, apart from the bridge pick up, which sounds a bit more interesting, but you didn't really put any emphasis on it, only playing it briefly. The overall impression of the demo is of a guitar that looks nice, but doesn't have the sound to match.

@geespar1 I agree.....although I notice the volume on the amp is at "1". Tube amps aren't meant to be played at that low a volume!! I bet it would sound SWEET at around 3 or 4 at least.

@geespar1 It's mostly the amp. Those Carvin amps are pretty wimpy but their guitars are great. Play that guitar through a vintage tube amp and it will kick your ass!
