It's so many lenses for this camera. What are the ONLY lenses I need to get through a feature length film, from close ups to wide shots? And I read that I need an ND filter with the camera. Is there a specific name brand for the filter for shooting bright outside shots? Thank you for your post.
@righteousent Hi there - I can't really say what lenses would be best for your purposes - it really comes down to your budget and how much you are willing to spend on either buying good glass or renting. I'd look on filmmaker forums such as dvinfo dot net and see what other people have used for making features with. As for the ND filter goes, again it comes down to how much you want to spend. Heliopan makes a $400 variable ND filter, while Tiffen makes a $190 filter....
Thumbed this up and subscribed, not because I am interested in this one particular rig, but because you are friendly, answering people's questions, something I don't often see from YT uploaders/channels..
@alexpho What you see in the video comes to about $9,000. I've put in a good $3,000 more into the camera since I filmed this video, so it comes to about $12,000 in mostly hardware (and some software)
hi, im totaly new to video recording, i am a audio engineer/ inspiring producer and i want to start making music videos for my artist, would this set up be a useful setup for that, and how much does this whole setup cost.. and u seem like u know bout ur gear just by looking at what u have so any advice as to any specific gear leaning towards music video quality would be awesome..
@baque86 Hi there - while there is much more I'd would need to know from you to give you better advice, I can tell you how much all of this costs. What you see in the video comes to about $9,000. I've put in a good $3,000 more into the camera since I filmed this video, so it comes to about $12,000 in mostly hardware (and some software)
@cutyourmullet9801 I don't use the baseplate any longer and I also have a proper top handle to carry the camera around as well as an external uncompressed recorder attached.
Baseplate & top handle by Berkey System
Uncompressed video capture: Blackmagic Design Hyperdeck Shuttle
Hey buddy! great set up! I am thinking of upgrading to this from my 7D and investing in a dp4 aswell! however I wanted to know if you can use the DP4 at the same time as using the Touch screen onboard the FS100? and what have the results been with pairing the two together?
@MaartenSpoek Here you go! Cinecity PROAIM-MB700 matte box Rail grip (I believe it is made by Cinevate) D|Focus v3 follow focus (found at Jag35.com) SmallHD DP4 field monitor Jag35 short articulating arm (for attaching DP4 to camera) Rokinon 35mm f/1.4 (canon mount) EOS to NEX mount adapter (cheap one off of eBay) Cinevate shoulder mount Jag35 Rod Raiser Ikan 15mm 12” rails Letus35 counter weight
Hey Aaron, great setup, but I can't help but mentioning something. I've enjoyed your videos for quite awhile. Your videos covering The PC Engine and other NEC devices was superb. Lately your videos have changed. I know you're very much interested in cinematography. Though every new video is you filming an object, panning, and doing all sorts of tricks/artsy shots. While this is neat, I would be interested to see you go beyond this. Please don't take this as a bad thing, simply an observation.
@jedahdoma Hi jedahdoma - thanks for the comment. It is true that I've gotten away from posting video just about the Turbo & PCE and for good reason - there is only so much you can put online for a classic console without new content. I'm a live-action shooter, so the stuff that I specialize in doing has been related to shooting stuff on a set and the technical issues that come with that. Some of the best stuff I shoot I can't show on YouTube due to content, which is unfortunate…
@Pcenginefx I totally understand good sir. I've had a change in direction with my videos as well. It's always good to switch things up instead of stagnating. Keep on doing what you're doing.
@jedahdoma I do have a few more PCE/TG-16 related videos I want to film, but I'll still be uploading short film pieces I decide to make on here. I want to do another console film this year, most likely one which is lesser known vs. something like what I did before (the Neo Geo).
when it comes to sony pro cameras it seems that Sony dominates the field, however when it comes to DSLR how come everyone hates sony and loves canon?
