Lol... this video is crazy, but mostly true :P I love Marymount though... elevators are slow, its a hefty walk from the dorms to the campus, but its a nice walk...and it'll keep off that freshman 15!! This is a great school... and yeah, we homos kinda run the place to i highly suggest you take that into consideration before deciding whether or not to attend :)

I'm from California. And for college I want to go to the east coast, and this is one of the schools in New York that I'm looking into. Is it really as bad as it seems?

Nooo it's really not. Okay yeah, the elevators take forever and I feel bad for the kids who have no view and 6 roomies, but my apartment is cozy and comfortable, my view from the 28th floor is AMAZING and I've met really cool kids there. It is what you make of it.

Im going to Marymount next year, and if youre concerned at all about the qualities of the dorms, DONT BE! the 55th street residence hall is amazing. While they may not be huge spacious mansions with large ocean views, just think about how much better they are than most other college dorms. Typical college students get to live in a tiny one room dorm with up to 3 other students and are lucky to have a microwave.

They have to share a bathroom with their whole floor, and definitely dont have a view or a kitchen in their dorm. At marymount youll have an actual kitchen and bathroom right in your own dorm. Ellen Degeneres used to live in the pent house of the building, so its obviously pretty nice. I cant say i know what its like living and going to school there but i have visited a few times and I love everything about the school. im going for dance and their dance program and facilities are AMAZING!

@littlemisslindsay you are pretty wrong about EVERYTHINGGGGGGGG.....I went to marymount and transfered out..half of the students have a view like the one shown above or just a plain ole' brick wall! and I had to share a tiny dorm room with 3 other people...FOUR PEOPLE IN ONE ROOM!? it got ridiculous....and the penthouse floor is not even laid out or designed the same way that the rest of the floors are, and in fact they use a different elevator also so dont give people that impression

I'm sure it doesnt have all the comforts of a big house, but id say in comparison to most college freshman dorms theyre pretty good. most people who ive talked to who live there love it. im sure it sucks if youre stuck with 4 roommates. but i consider having a kitchen and bathroom a huge perk, which none of my friends going to other schools have. dorm life is squishy no matter where you go

@littlemisslindsay idk marymount was my 2nd school....biggest piece of advice for living in the dorms: DAY 1 SET A CLEANING SCHEDULE!!!!!!! my last college had cleaning ppl come so I was unnaware that we had to clean the place, but we do..so really set that shit straight the first day!

Im looking to go to Marymount, but one of my biggest concerns is the how far away the dorms are from the actual school. I live on Long Island so I know how brutal the winters can get, and walking 20 blocks to the campus doesnt sound too great.

yeah it is, NYC is expensive, and they give us $1000 a semester that we can spend on food from a store in the dorms. Did I mention they charge $10 for grapes, so just imagine how much a meal is. When you run out of money you literally have nothing. its a big city, but its hard to get a job unless you know somebody bcuz you need experience, even to be a bathroom attendant, you need to submit a resume. Yes it is hard living in NYC in a dorm with up to 6 ppl with one bathroom and a small kitchen.
