  • oo

    ~, , ,

  • Well well... Good music, but the movie was damn boring.

  • (Cont) I think Twilight had the same problem (only there was more action, if you can call it that). Two people just staring at each other (falling in love LOL) is boring. I love actor Michael Pitt's other work (Boardwalk Empire, ect) but this is the worst film I've ever seen him in. Wooden dialog, bad acting, weird plot. What did Ellen die of? What was all that convo about them not being able to have kids? Thought that had a point but it was just another dead end. Anyway, thanks.

  • SakuraBlackrose, thank you very much for uploading the film. Much appreciated. Now, with that said, this film by itself was pretty bad. It reminded me of the old SHOGUN mini-series only this was a terrible attempt. It's like up until part 11, I kept waiting for something to happen! I think sweeping romance does not a good movie make. It's boring and should stay in books.

  • *I speak spanish* This film makes me think about Cinema Paradiso, where Toto gets old single, and dreaming of Elena (first and impossible love), wasting his youth and life. That was all about "I couldn't be happy with her when we were young, and I will never had her" exciting and longing thing, but not true happines and LOVE, he should move on and meet someone instead of still longing the beauty of a unreachable fantasy.

  • This can happen toanyone... It's not fiction

  • also, i think he loved his wife, but he got side tracked. i think once he understood there would be no return to japan in hopes to have the other woman his longing for her would have eventually faded and his full focus would have returned to his wife. really, in a way his focus already was, but it was particularly do to the fact that she got ill. this is my interpretation of the story. ;)

  • okay i'm trying to understand this, also. my interpretation of the letter was diff, but i guess it changes when i consider how she did respond to him when they were making love. but what throws me off is it shows him sleeping with an asian woman but not the one he was actually drawn too and it only shows that he slept with the woman once... so his wife noticed, when they made love, that he desired/longed for another woman but not necessarily that he slept with another woman...??

  • what a wonderful movie <3

Kiera Knightly is the best :'(

  • i think this is some type of medaphore; the other woman was kinda a representation of jis wife and how he was going to lose her ya never know, it was kinda depresing tho, but still good in a way....

  • i didnt really understand the movie... i think it goes further than just him cheating on his wife, i don't know. there was something magical and poetical between japan (in general) and him, i wish the movie didn't end like this, it was unexpected and totally changed the poetic of the movie (in my opinion).

  • thank you for sharing this movie. thank you.

  • appreciate something, after u lost it... kinda fucking stupid isnt it?

  • i started crying when i finished watching this movie, my tears couldnt stop coming out...

  • I agree with aishaish6101 (in the comment directly below mine) — I'm always disappointed when husbands cheat on wives and vice versa. Unfortunately, this theme is certainly not new to novels or movies. It can also be found in stories such in Gone with the Wind. Scarlett was always longing after Ashley (and, yes, she would've had sex with him if he'd wanted it). Yet she discovered (too late) that she was married to the right man all along. The theme is found in many other stories too.

  • Stupid movie. Don't know why I wasted my time. Husbands cheating on wives or vice versa. It's just sick and wrong. Ugh, I'm so disappointed.

  • Ok, so that just left me feeling like an emotional wreck :'(

  • Your typical "Man Cheating On His Wife" movie.

The wife dying at the end to young, childless, as a martyr, and carrying all his stupid burdens and cheating lying ways with her. Tears my foot!

What he thought he wanted all along, was right there in front of him.

Him, not realizing it until she was slipping away in death.

Great acting job by all. Loved the scenery and the splendor of Japan.

    Beautiful people.

  • gaawwwddd thats y i dont get marriage. he loved his wife right?? but in all his love he still choose to fuck around. i swear love and marriage mean nothing. quite sad

  • @alexandrerami you're welcome :)

  • This film is so sad I don't think I've cried so much since watching titanic (tbh I think I cried more at this one because there's the slight difference of my favourite actress's character dying in silk instead of just the main character dying in titanic) :',','(((

  • Hi i'm french and I would like know what keira says during this scene. Someone can write it please?

Excuse me for my english !

  • @alexandrerami My beloved, do not be afraid. Do not speak. Stay as you are, I'm here at your side. Do you feel me? When I touched you for the first time you will feel the warmth but you will not know where. Perhaps it will be on your eyes Who could ever erase this moment? There is no end to it. Don't you see?

  • @alexandrerami What we were meant to do, we have done. Believe me my love we have done it forever. And if it concerns your happiness, do not hesitate a moment to forget this woman who now says without a trace of regret, "farewell"

  • @PsychoOnMars Thank you very much ! I heard some piece but not all . =3

  • @PsychoOnMars "if it *serves* your happiness"

  • @PsychoOnMars wow. it took some serious inner strength and happiness in her own mind to be able to say that.

  • For most of this movie, I wasn't that into the story; I just liked the cinematography. But in Part 10, I really, really started to love it. Everything is gorgeous about this film- the music, the scenes, the story... and Herve has a gorgeous voice, even if I never quite bought that those two women loved him so much.

    Thank you for uploading this!

  • its so sadd :(

  • it's similar to movies like the age of innocence and the painted veil, i guess. very well done and reminds you to appreciate what's real as opposed to all the "stuff" in your head

  • not a bad film...but the story line is so french...effete, spazzed out, saccharin

  • The soundtrack is even more beautiful then the movie itself.

  • @mandddiiiable I agree. I have the last song on my ipod. It's so beautiful.

  • @xxAmazonxxx Was it is called this one playing while she talks? I am having some trouble finding it. I have the soundtrack but exactly that part, I cannot find. The ending theme I have of course.

  • @mandddiiiable Hahhaha, I see what you mean....

  • the italian countryside is so pretty..makes me wanna be italian so i can live in the beautiful countryside.

  • "What we were meant to do, we have done."

"...and if it serves your happiness, do not hesitate for a moment to forget this woman, who now says, FIREWALL".

One of my favourite movie!! great quality, thanks for uploading

  • To sad. But it kind of makes no sense. He did not chase women. He slept with that other women, ONCE and he was in another country. How would his wife know about that ONE time. He did love her...he felt very quilty for sleeping with the other women and wanted to tell his wife but did not. why would she write a letter to him in another languge. they both loved each other for they told one another. Kind of dont make sense to me.

  • @anursewhocares

It was the way he behaved. All dreamy and didn't tell her things like when she asked him (when she was making the drawing). And the third time he insisted on going to Japan...if I was her I would've suspected something too. But I don't really get the movie either >.>

Just that part was kind of clear to me and it's heartbreaking.

  • terrific...if you like this watch" the painted veil "..i believe you will like that too

  • This Movie is so sad and heart breaking, i cant beleive it thee nding makes you want to cry and, i feel so sorry for her, he wass chasing another women and she still loved him. it just so terribly sad...

  • Could anybody write for me with a comment, what is Keira Knightley saying, please ? Because I don't speak english and I don't all understand... And I love this movie !

  • @estelle1225

my beloved, do not be afraid, do not speak, stay as you are

I'm here at your side. Do you feel me?

  • @estelle1225

....without a trace of regret.. farewell

  • @aspasia41089 thank you soooo much !! that's very kind of you ! =)

  • @estelle1225 It 's really nothing! i was looking the letter for my self.. :)

  • what a beautiful movie!

  • This movie is incredibly beautiful. The end. Stunning. Keira Knightley did a very good job here. Amazing.

  • I feel so terrible for her !! While she loved and waited endlessly for him, he was off falling in love with another and while she knew, she still confessed her undying love to him, forever wishing him happiness. Fantastic moral to the story, you never know what you have until its gone !!

  • @Serielle You are so right with that!

  • i felt soo sad watching this ending , i hope he realized what real love was in the end and not some kind of fantasy that will end quickly....very symbolic at the end with all those flowers were for his wife -sob-

  • i must applaud them for their music choice... that piano is just heartbreaking...

  • This moment is…this moment will continue from now until forever. Believe me, my love, we have done it forever. Preserve your life out of my reach and if it serves your happiness, do not hesitate for a moment, to forget this woman who now says, without a trace of regret. Farewell.”

  • @xixigirl333 is this a quote from the movie if not wow its really beautiful!!! i mean it

  • Do not be afraid. Do not move. Do not speak. . Do you feel me? When I touch you for the first time… it will be with my lips. You will feel the warmth but you will not know where. Perhaps, it will be on your eyes. I will press my mouth to your eyes and you will feel the warmth. There is no end to it don’t you see?.

  • He never knew it was her!! That is heart breaking...her watching him the whole time, knowing something was going on, and he would tell her!!! :(

  • such a beautiful film, i believe this ti be one of keira's warmer characters I have seen very stunning

  • i love this movie so much. it was sad yet so beautiful!

  • Beautiful movie. Thank you so much for posting!

  • did she commit suicide?

  • @fooddpanda no, she was sick and died a the end.... he has an affair with a Japanese girl, and his wife got a lady to write the letter for him in Japanese and he thought that it was from his japanese girl until the end, when he realizes after his wife died, that his wife was the one who wrote the letter wanting him to be happy...

  • @fooddpanda no, she was sick

  • sad and beautiful...

  • I loved this movie

  • beautiful movie...the end definitely made me cry.

  • How to get subtitles? I search some subtitles web but cant find. I tried to make DVD and keep it as my classic collection.

    The story is really awesome!

  • This movie is so beautiful. I thought I hated it the after watching it the first time and thought "what happened?" to myself with anger. Had to watch it again because I couldn't stop thinking about it though. This is about real love.

  • Such a beautiful movie...

  • what a fantastic movie!!! thank you for uploading

  • Check out "The painted veil" if you havent seen it yet. A good one in my opinion...

  • Oh MY GOD that is one of my favourite movies!

  • i know...i mean for me too, although i have to say i have watched so many movies..."The scarlett letter" ,"The Lover" ," Tristan and Isolde" ...and many more.

  • I have to admit, I was bored of this movie in the beginning all the way to the middle. The way he and the japanese woman interacted just didn't entrance me one bit. Yet, it wasn't until the movie played into how the garden was planted, how his wife got sick, how she was the one sending the letters, and how she dies, that it hit my heart. It's something about the scene where she's waddling in the ocean, and submerges herself into the water that enthralls me. The music at the end is beautiful.

  • thank you for posting the movie it was wonderful. that love letter was beautiful!

  • Just amazing movie, loved it a lot..

  • thank you for sharing this movie

  • Yeahh....people think that happiness is there were we can't have that what is born in our minds, immagines..they can't appreciate that what they have..real life..only not real life..It is for people who can't live like real people..

  • thank you for sharing this with all of us

we are so ungrateful and don't take in the simple happiness we are meant to enjoy and love. if only we could breathe the air we have and not want somethings elsewhere.

  • Amazing, yet sad story.

  • I'm speechless...

  • ...awesome and very tragic story! beautiful movie. really tear-drop...such amazing soundtrack.

Nice drama! Thanks a lot for share!

  • very nice movie, appreciate what you already have !!!!

  • i didn't really understand this movie....

    =(

  • me too

  • It has to do with appreciating what we have.

  • yes, i got ur point. but can u explain y keira knightly asked the japanese lady to translate her letter into japanese?

  • Because she loved him and wanted him to be happy no matter what. At the end, he understands that he never appreciated that when she was alive.

  • so, she did know from the time her husband arrived home that he had an affair to another woman... am i right?

  • Seems that way, yeah.

  • I haven't watched this movie in a long tine but I am pretty sure she realized it because when he returned home the way he held her when they were making love was different..she just knew I guess like an innate instinct you would say.

  • Perhaps you are right ,but it has to be a deep and unconditioned love ,because although she suspected it,she still did not make it a big deal with him,but wanting her husband to think the letters were from the japanese girl,so he could feel pleased .....

At the same time ,she may be felt like.."ok my dear you have been fooled by lust ,but you are loosing something more precious then anything..and that is for ever...

  • one of the great movie quotes of all time imo, thank you for this
