Amy Winehouse like...but...If you are a singer (which presumably you are) you clearly have no idea what it is to put drama and theatre in the voice - to take a risk to produce something artistic and touching even though it might not be 'beautiful'. How very sad for you. I assume that's why you dedicate so much time to ripping apart young and professional singers instead of enjoying a succesful career.
The tenor is a true professional not to collapse with laughter or despair at his partner's performance. It just shows that it's best not to drink or take any medication before you sing.
Does she have a personal web site? Does anyone know what it is? I've tried looking for one and can't find any (and I know most singers have a web site or two). If someone knows, PLEASE send me a note with the address. THANK YOU!
If anything, you should leave this up because of the amazing performance of the tenor. Who was that btw? There is also a certain amount of amusement watching the "drunk" Carmen.
How unfortunate...but I did get a chuckle out of this. I am impressed the the Tenor was able to hold his own so well!! And hey...she did get all of her entrances :P
I'm in the men's chorus room at the Met Opera, we've just viewed it. I've never seen so many of them standing around and laughing at how truly awful she is.
@greggesimmons :)) bt you know that she is a very good singer, here she is in a terrible situation, (bad administration of medicines and just a glass of wine) result... THE DRUNK CARMEN! voila! bt she is not really drunk here my friend, is terribly funny, bt I am thinking to delete the video .. is to bad for her, no? the next week I will upload a full masterclass of Alfredo Kraus.. or better Pavarotti and Freni? or Arturo Mellocchi teaching Limarilli? I have the full versions :) just ask
@007MASTERCOLLECTOR NO!, please don't delete the video, in my singing class at college this video served my teacher as an example of how we should not abuse with medicines or alcohol before a show, appart from the fact of that it was very funny.
@007MASTERCOLLECTOR, IF YOU ARE GOING TO DELETE IT, JUST DO IT. PLEASE DELETE IT, THAT VERY OLD, POOR QUALITY RECORDING. DRAGANA JUGOVIC DEL MONACO IS ARTIST TO MERIT PRAISE, NOT RIDICULE. REGARDS FROM BELGRADE
I don't know if this is even real but if it is then the orchestra, her singing partner and the audience are all guilty of participating in this waste of time. Must the show go on?
wow the musical nuance through each phrase, the drama, the emotion, the technical strategy, intelegent singing on kristal meth is a huge accomplishment and if I may say so an impressive pallet of colours giving each sostenuto phrase an impressive biography which touches me to the core, simply , what an artist, Tenor? what tenor he was up against the wall on this stage , had no chance, did his best but lost honourably... Brava brava brava, will now go and try the same shit it must be a rush:))))
She's not drunk, she's just overdoing the drama i order to compensate for her lack of legato and clear notes. The tenor's forcing his voice through the high notes and producing rough notes.
Please listen to Placido Domingo and Julia Migenez and you'll see what Carmen and Don Jose should sound like.
@JohnInMableton But please don't think Ruggero Raimondi (in the same film with Domingo and Migenez) is a good Escamillo. Watch Samuel Ramey in this role. He sings and acts the role as a rock star, which is exactly the way Escamillo sould come across.
Where the hell was her manager? And what was the stage manager doing - was he asleep??? No-one should have put her on. All kudos to the tenor for getting through it - a true pro. And the orchestra for not cracking it completely. I've been on stage with some out of it performers myself but this takes the buttered confection!
Cannot believe they let her go on - or that her partner agreed to finish it. Wait - didn't the audience walk out and ask for their money back? A disgrace to the arts.......
Sono molto contento che questo bellissimo tenore canta ancora e di piu há una voce piu bella di tutti giovani Don Jose, bravo!

I really wonder how this guy didnt punched her in the face and left stage!......Its humilliating even being with her in the same stage.............she probably must have gave him oral sex or something.....cant explain how he standed at this, withouth cracking in laughs!!

After Violetta left Alfredo.
She went back to her old life, drunk & intoxicated.
The old Germont came to see if she really broke up with his son.
Violetta ensured him that "entre nous, c'est fini"
The father then asked if she could be his mistress since she had broken up with the son.
She said NO coz "libre elle est nee, libre elle mourra".
The father was so humiliated and curesed "pour la dernier fois, demon, veut tu me suivre?"
She refused again, then... as u know :P
