  • what movie is this its from something...i forget...tell me? :)

  • I mean the song is dope but I wouldn't say the singing was beautiful..

  • how is it beautiful singing, she autotuned the entire song...

  • So amazing

  • OC come back!

  • @RGameplaysZ please :(

  • jason derulo SUCKS! Imogen Heap is better!!!

  • To all people saying "JASON DERULO BUTCHERED DIS SONG, HE SO UN-TALENTED."

The fact of the matter is this video and all others of this song wouldn't have half the views nor the the sales if it werent for him. Not that I like Jason Derulo, I just can't stand idiocy.

  • @ciaranreaper ...this album was nominated for best album when it first came out in Britain. It had a TON of sales.

  • Actually

Jason Derulo stole this song from Imogen Heap.

  • Actually, dude, she was the one to originally make this. So... it's no form of 'Whatcha Say'. :)

    It's Hide And Seek.

  • o.0'' waow is the recipe of Jason Derulo's haters......!!!? lol I pity you!! pfffffff

  • i think both derulo and imogen both did fine. Although personaly i like Imogen's version more, besides this song could never be butchered its beautiful and it always shall be:)

  • wow jason thanks for butchering this song

  • Why did they let Jason Derulo ruin this?

  • I swear every time I hear 2:08 on my ipod, i think it says 'I need a piss'. Just me?

  • This strangely reminds me of untouched (by veronicas) where the beginning is the totally memorable one compared to the rest. Just that it's the middle bit in this case.

  • I think we're all here for 2:51..

  • @gottapee5 so true

  • Phelous brought me here

  • WHOA! SINGING CHORDS

  • Comment removed

  • wow... all the Jason Derulo haters... you're on the original song now aren't you? no need to hate now, just enjoy the damn song.

  • 'dear sister, by the time you read this --'

  • what the hell is this, GG

  • she isnt the prettiest but she has a beautiful voice that i love :)

  • @brookiecrips you tell her! Why the hell is she even listening if she hates it??

  • wow, way better than the origional!

  • @EllieIerokk this is the original

  • @alextingle wow really?

    didnt know that.

  • @CountrySongz bitch, then get the fuck out

  • i'm here because of the OC. bam

  • Homestuck fandom, please raise for our national anthem..

  • @RandomKPluver

    Yes. Just yes.

  • i used to be able to sing like this then i took an arrow to the knee

  • @everdarkemo60 You mean you took a scrotum to the chin.

  • @BlerieHD yeah that too

  • Also, It's sad that the only part of Imogen Heap most people know is the part of this song that has become a meme, and most of them haven't even heard the whole song or any of her other songs.

  • I'm a sucker for good harmony. My favorite parts are when she says "spin me 'round" and the part about "oily marks" and "pleasure moments." Those parts are where I feel the harmony truly shines...in addition to the most famous part of the song, of course.

  • 2:02 put some eye shadow around her eyes and she looks just like DEV..!! lol

  • 3:10 is what they would say if justin bieber died

  • Im here cause of j0ehansome

  • this is the original watcha say cause i heard this when it was 2007 but they remade this song

  • @bratzgirl72 Research it. Jason and Imogen had a contract.

  • 2:51 Is what you came here for.

  • The way she hits "takeover" at 2:02 leaves me speechless every time.

  • 2:51 - Best part dammit, hands down!

  • Nice song

Id like to see how her voice would sound like without the computerized voice perfecter.

  • @TheSDMM I second that.

  • the dubstep version is inferior compared to this.

  • this is what i would sleep to :) compliment to her

  • dude i wonder what the end of the journey feels liek

    im fucking baked balls

  • this song make me and my gf cry

  • There's something about her music. If you listen to her live "just for now" version where she's where there's an abundance of tan color, something just sets into you. It doesn't make sense; when you actually listen to many of her songs, especially "just for now", they sound like a bunch of sound and makes the song sound like it sucks. But once you examine it from an emotional perspective, something changes...it gives you a feeling you can't describe. It's palpable, but is completely foreign.

  • so beautiful <3

  • speeding cars way betta

  • no offence to the fans but this type of music drives me insane... just came for the original version bt i see i shouldnt have... :P

  • @ZenyattaLuvr Well GTFO.

  • @ZenyattaLuvr leave. now. Bye.

  • @doseusa i already did. im sorry for offending u all! its not like i was tryin to insult u or anything

  • @ZenyattaLuvr okay...it's just... You know lol

  • YeahhBuddaayy(:

  • 2:51 i guess i should start writing a letter to my sister then.

  • Thumbs Up If You Are Here Because Jason Derulo Ruined his version

  • @99DLH99 jason derulo did not ruin it, He actually did a good job, you probably just can't sing..It's called sampling where you take a part of a song and add it to yours...DUMBAHH

  • OMG SOMEONE GOT SHOT DRAMITCLY...OH wait....false alarm everyone calm down...

  • wow i didnt even know that was her. amazing!

  • wow great song >< its perfect how it is!!

  • im so high ahhahahahaha wtf is going on

  • I dn't get it... "trains and sewing machines?" WHY?!

  • @HannesCoolaSisWilja I know! I don't understand that part either. But she goes on to say "they were here first" so...I don't know. xD

  • @TheRedByakugan THE TRAINS AND THE SEWING MACHINES WERE HERE FIRST 8D

  • fuck Jason Derulo. without imogen heap's whatcha say part on his song it would be shit.

  • soooooo why is this song always used in parodies? ( only the hm whatcha say part lol )

  • I love how her voice IS the background musci ^^

  • Gosh it's relaxing 8D

  • I think it's so relaxing 8D

  • Better than the new. because, he copyrighted it, and no one noticed.

  • all the song made for 2:51!!!!

  • is a girl or a boy?!?!!!? O.O ??

  • 3:10 to 3:15

"Mmm, we jizz when we meet, you decided this."

Thumbs up if you hear it. XD

  • Jason Derulo You have no class stealing the musical genius that is Imogen Heaps music. She really is an artist with her music or should I say sounds. It is artistic in how it sounds. Derulo just mixes it and his "whatcha say" is nothing but catchy. THIS is real music.

  • @Bobofosho1213 I dont think anybody steals anything that obvious in the music industry... he probably asked for the copyright... but yeah whatever... kill the guy who made a catchy song... catchy songs are bad for health...

  • @Bobofosho1213 that weak ass tv show ruined this song

  • @Bobofosho1213 im sure he didnt steal it...im sure he asked to sample it. chill out

  • @Bobofosho1213 To be fair he did get permission to use it... Still I fucking hate him because he suck :D

  •   nice

  •  nice

  • ZOMG FULL ON AUTO TUNE !@?!>@>!> NO TALENT WHAT SO EVER GOD!

    iz be trollin'

  • this song doesn't need background music, it's better this way, WAY better than Jason Derulo made it.. stop hating

  • Do i detect.... AUTO-TUNING?! xD

  • Wow i didn't even know that jason derulo took this

  • I love this girls voice but I don't like this song that much because I don't like the fact there's no backround music

  • @kyawmawthu i rape your button Mmmm whatcha say, Mmm that you only meant well? well of course you did Mmmm whatcha say, Mmmm that it's all for the best? of course it is Mmmm whatcha say? Mmmm that it's just what we need you decided this whatcha say? Mmmm what did she say?
  • lemon jizm is what we need

  • 3:10 jizm's what we need

  • everyone says this is about a break up but I'm pree sure its about the Holocaust

  • The ending of the song starting from 3:23 is the best part.

  • Such a beautiful song. I love this band.

  • Comment removed

  • im pretty sure this song is about a breakup o.o

  • i want this to be played at my funeral. of course from 2:51 on.

  • @CocoKitty456 me too :')

  • 2:51 is y all u probably came

  • @shaune1000 No? I came here for the whole song

  • @Lollanify oh cool

  • I've heard that this was actually made about the Holocaust. I don't know if its true or not but it makes sense, no?

  • gosh i keep expecting after what did she say a little bit of : i was so wrong for so long only trying to please myself (myslef) hhhahhaha lol

  • ...I'm confused why it says: "The original of Jason Derulo's Cover" when it wasn't made by him. I sure hope he credited Imogen for her amazing voice and lyrics.

Did you all know that this song is about the Holocaust? I absolutely love her voice.

  • @WinterCalamity thats what it was about Jesus scary... :P

  • @WinterCalamity Nope he didn't even credit her at all

  • R.I.P Shakira The Crazy Cat,Born on 28 Mar 2011 Dead 4 June 2011,R.I.P Arquimedes,Born(Unknown Day) Dead 21 August 2011,R.I.P Mom Ana Born (Still Not Known) Dead When i Was 3 and now i am 10,Give them God The Eternal Rest And Shine For Them The Eternal Liht,Rest in Peace,Amen

  • @nicolettaabaaybee If you havn't noticed, it isn't autotuned whatsoever...

  • i always thought it said, "you can repent" at the end

  • Dear sister...

  • @nicolettaabaaybee she layers her voice not autotuned.

  • @nicolettaabaaybee this is just one song, she is an amzing singer in realy life ;)

  • @nicolettaabaaybee Auto tuned? not quite, every single sound on this track is her voice, it was created by layering her voice over and over and over again. Essentially harmonizing with her self. So you saying she is auto tuned, is actually a HUGE compliment to her. She does live performance all over the place and her range is epic. She even went on a talk show and recreated this song live, going layer by layer until the finished product was performed.

  • @BetaMan1313 You don't have to correct grammar errors, you obviously understood what they were trying to say.

  • I just wish Jason Derulo would have given Imogen Heap credit for the lyrics he used...

  • The o.c made me listen to this! I'd when this song was on in o,c,

  • 2:53 <3

  • 2:51 is where the fun starts

  • @kyawmawthu wow -..-

  • @kyawmawthu Why do people always play that part during parts when someone dies xDDD

  • Chill out people they're both good songs

  • Comment removed

  • Who the hell is Jason Derulo and why should I care?

  • @HatiChantheWolfHog My exact words except unfortunately I know who he is. He's a freakin song stealer in my mind.

  • @nicolettaabaaybee the fags in those days would see his IDOLS playing LIVE ! whit no microphones

  • i think both versions are very good!

  • i love how it has no background music

  • @MimiMindel i agree. it has a dual harmony, that's what makes it interesting

  • @MimiMindel .. when lyrics are that deep, you don't need background music, my fellow youtuber.. i didn't really notice it until i saw your comment.

  • the song is the soul glass!!!!!

  • @nicolettaabaaybee jason derulo is just some auto tuned fool who can get famous off off taking a great song and making it horrible piss off

  • @nicolettaabaaybee You're stupid. If you don't like this amazing music, Fuck off. as you can tell.. Everyone else loves it and no ones cares if you like it or not.

  • this didnt make jason derulo amous he was already a song witer.

  • @xopegirl99 she did make him famous. just because you're a songwriter doesnt mean you're famous. cant tell if trolling or just stupid....

  • emo fag

  • i came here cause i heard this song in a funny porno video.

  • who ever says the Jason version deserves to have there ears removed

  • Bah! for the last time, Jason Derulo did not "steal" this song. Sheesh, he bought rights to it. She collected profit to ya know. Quite frankly I don't see how the two can be compared. His song is in a whole different genre. And I to love this song.

  • lol singalong

  • put this as a video responce to that little shit magnet

  • I love the song but can some1 tell me what the hell is the song about like whats they story in it?

  • this isnt the only song jason derp rulo stole... he also stole Show Me Love By robin s

  • Isn't she also Frou Frou?

  • Thumbs up if you thought Jason Derulo was the main song... I just heard the original for the first time when Drake... eh um excuse me Jimmy Brooks was shot on Degrassi...

  • @1sheemadiva this is the original version Jason Derülo sampled this song.

  • ireally enjoy this sonq . . lyrics & vocals are FANOMINAL -3

  • Doesnt seem Like Jason Dureulo gave much credit to her.

  • 1:40

That's the canister that had the ooze!

  • my ears are bleeding

  • Jason Derulo sucks shit.

  • she is awsome

    ]\

  • i love this song

  • dude you guys saying the lyrics is bad? really?

    obviously your insensitive

    You have no analytical prescense

    your a dumbass

USE the internet SPARK notes find out what the song means

  • @hazylard0 HAHAHAHAAAAA you're saying that people who don't like the lyrics have no 'analytical presence*' and yet you need spark notes to work out the symbolism for yourself?? man, im embarrassed for you right now.

  • in all seriousness, did she spend more than two minutes making up these lyrics? theyre terrible!

  • @likeastarbaby How about YOU write a somewhat decent song with lyrics that aren't "terrible", then make a video of it? I don't think the public would react as well. You should pay more attention to your English teacher when she talks about symbolism. Imogen's an artist, not some money crazed dreamer.

  • @VitaKristelle ...so you're saying that the public doesn't react well to lyrics that aren't terrible? i think thats pretty much the whole point of the music industry :/

its not symbolism, its taking random words and sentences and jumbling them together, in a song which altogether has no depth. im sorry you obviously really like this song, i do aswell, but the lyrics are horrendous..."trains and sewing machines"? "mid-sweet talk newspaper word cut outs"? what the hell does that 'symbolise'?

  • @likeastarbaby Oh. You like the song then? So stop bashing it. Frankly, most people in the music business are cheats and liars, and I was talking about the public's reaction if YOU wrote a song. This song is about a cheating lover, who abruptly leaves her. The "trains and sewing machines" that were "there first" represent the guy's actual wife and his life before and during the affair. The "mid-sweet talk, newspaper word cut-outs" are describing the ransom notes that are coming from the cheater.

  • @VitaKristelle ...why would the public react negatively if I wrote a song? maybe I'm the best songwriter in the world...how would you know otherwise? :S "most people in the music business are cheats and liars"? where exactly are you getting these statistics from?

if theres one thing i cannot stand, its music snobs. whats to say this is any better than the fast food song? judging by its success next to JRs version, id say its pretty clear which song is 'better' in the public eye.

  • @likeastarbaby Who needs statistics when you have observation skills? And when did we start talking about fast food? Without this song, Jason wouldn't be as famous as he is now. I'm fully aware that hip hop and steady beats are more popular. Again, observation skills.

  • @likeastarbaby You know how ransom notes involve blackmail and hidden identity(she didn't really know him cause he had a whole other life that didn't involve her). He's blackmailing her, basically saying, "I'll be with you, but you can't tell my wife about us." People who write ransom notes don't actually pull through with their side of the deal, and in this story, he left without telling her. This song has a lot of depth. You just have to see past the market value and read between the lines.

  • @VitaKristelle if you were hoping to prove a point, you didnt make one. that is so unnecessarily obscure! and obscurity and metaphors don't necessarily mean a good song, although it allows people like you to feel superior, clearly. Especially the part about the 'ransom notes'. How long must have someone taken, desperately trying to find a link for that? I'm not saying a song has to be basic or transparent but, like art, anything that takes that long to decipher isn't making its original point.

  • @likeastarbaby Your statements on obscurities show that you fail to understand how having different interpretations can have different effects on people. It is considered a good thing in art when through your own interpretation (that could be vastly different then someone else's) could resonate with and cause you to connect with this song on an emotional level. Though both songs are 'art' in their own way, the ability for different interpretations is what I consider the better of the two.
