Did the leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints know that members are "leaving in droves?" a woman asked.
"We are aware," said Elder Marlin K. Jensen, according to a tape recording of his unscripted remarks. "And I'm speaking of the 15 men that are above me in the hierarchy of the church. They really do know and they really care," he said.
My family came from the former Communist country of Czechoslovakia. When they arrived in the USA some became Catholic, Calvinist, Athiest & my Mother married my Dad so I was raised Lutheran. I am the 1st in my family who researched not only many denominations of Christianity but even other religions. I am proud to say but humble as Bruce R. McConkie in this video that I believe in Christ & in the church that bears his name, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints & The Book of Mormon.
@metallicarox80s...I am a sinner. I struggle with sin everyday of my life. My church is full of sinners who are trying to do their best just as I am. As an ex-Mormon I have known many LDS who have looked and currently look at porn which is a huge problem in all churches. I freely admit I am a sinner and struggle with sin everyday of my life. I pray for God to give me the strength to abstain from all sin and although I'm not perfect, I am doing much better. God bless you.
@hanesdm Nice admission. While I'm not claiming perfection, nor claiming perfection or porn-free lives on all Latter-Day Saints, perhaps this should teach you to stop parading around your propaganda & anti-LDS rhetoric.
@metallicarox80s It isn't propaganda and anti-LDS rhetoric, it is the truth. I was an active Mormon for nearly all my life (33 yrs.). I have done a great deal of research on the church and I now see it for what it is, a hoax. I too had a testimony that the Book of Mormon is true but I realize now that testimony was based on a false premise. Your church leaders are lying to you and I put all the blame on Thomas S. Monson.
@hanesdm ---------------------The Standard of Truth has been erected; no unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing; persecutions may rage, mobs may combine, armies may assemble, calumny may defame, but the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly, and independent, till it has penetrated every continent, visited every clime, swept every country, and sounded in every ear, till the purposes of God shall be accomplished, and the Great Jehovah shall say the work is done...
@metallicarox80s In reference to Matthew 7:4, a man (or woman) must not be perfect in order to point out false doctrine. If that was the case no one would be qualified to preach for everyone is a sinner. I am not judging you, I am pointing out that the LDS church is false. "All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." 2 Tim 3:16-17
@hanesdm It's not a false premise; the Holy Ghost leads to all truth (John 16:33) & the Spirit brings about certain feelings (Galatians 5:22).
You are "pointing out" anything but your opinion. You've clearly been immersed in the propaganda & have been rhetorically inoculated by that so-called "research." There was just as much criticism of Jesus in His day.
I don't want to sound like I'm judging you, but your porn addiction could have blocked your reception to the Spirit, & truth ultimately.
@metallicarox80s You view truth as propaganda. Let's move away from the "propaganda" sites for a minute and look at the Book of Mormon. The current belief in the LDS church is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost are three separate gods. Now the testimony of three witnesses states, "And the honor be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost, which is one God. Amen." This is the doctrine of the trinity which the LDS church does NOT believe.
@metallicarox80s "Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, which is one God, without end. Amen." 2 Ne 31:21. "...unto the Father, and unto the Son, and unto the Holy Ghost, which are one God..." Mormon 7:7. Also see Mosiah 15:1-5, Mormon 9:12, Alma 11:22,26-29,35 and Ether 3:14. "Which Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are one God, infinite and eternal, without end. Amen." D&C 20:28.
@metallicarox80s Now turn to D&C 130:22 which states, "The Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man's; the Son also; but the Holy Ghost has not a body of flesh and bones, but is a personage of Spirit..." In light of all BofM scriptures that state the three are one God, D&C 130:22 directly contradicts all of them. So which is it, one god or three separate? Holy scripture can't contradict itself.
@hanesdm ---------------The Standard of Truth has been erected; no unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing; persecutions may rage, mobs may combine, armies may assemble, calumny may defame, but the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly, and independent, till it has penetrated every continent, visited every clime, swept every country, and sounded in every ear, till the purposes of God shall be accomplished, and the Great Jehovah shall say the work is done.
@hanesdm I'm aware of all those scriptures, and there is no contradiction. First, Eloheim in Hebrew means GODS. You're not considering the context of those BOM & D&C scriptures. Since the members of the Godhead operate as a team, they can all be referred to as "one God," because their purposes are in complete harmony, like a team.
If you criticize the LDS Church, it sure isn't the "Mormon Church." And it's Jesus' church anyway, regardless of what you say.
@metallicarox80s Elohim in Hebrew does mean Gods, you are absolutely correct. Now read Genesis 1:1 in the JST version of the Bible. If Joseph Smith truly was a prophet the JST version would say "we" rather than "I." In fact, everywhere in the first few chapters of Genesis where the word "God" appears Joseph Smith simply replaced the word "God" with "I." Smith is not a prophet, he is a false prophet who has deceived millions, including yourself.
@hanesdm Hahahaha, that's why Moses & Abraham include "we" & "the Gods." Nice try. The only person who's been deceived is you by the extra-Biblical, propaganda-toting Evangelical movement, & your addiction to lesbian porn has only blocked out the Spirit's influence in discerning truth in your life.
@metallicarox80s Lastly, don't view my criticism of the Mormon church as if I am criticizing Jesus. I am criticizing the church, not Jesus. Don't confuse the two.
My parents are Mormons, and 4 of my siblings are Mormons. I literally pray everyday while on my knees that God will work a miracle and help them see the truth in Jesus Christ. Noone should "Follow the Prophet." Like the popular Mormon song goes, rather, they should be following Jesus Christ and him only.
that doesn't erase the fact that he was one of the 12 apostles for many years and fervently taught these controversial Mormon doctrines that the church is now trying to distance themselves from. The church is also trying to distance themselves from the teaching of Brigham Young who taught that Adam (Adam and Eve) is our God. Brigham Young taught this and he was a highly respected Prophet of the church yet the church now distances themselves from his teachings.
@hanesdm-------------The Standard of Truth has been erected; no unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing; persecutions may rage, mobs may combine, armies may assemble, calumny may defame, but the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly, and independent, till it has penetrated every continent, visited every clime, swept every country, and sounded in every ear, till the purposes of God shall be accomplished, and the Great Jehovah shall say the work is done.
Jaromsmiss...Mr. McConkie is perhaps best known for articulating the Mormon belief that man (and woman) will someday be a God. If you doubt this statement I urge you to read his book "Mormon Doctrine." He also articulates the belief that God was once a man on a earth and is now exalted. Again if you doubt this I urge you to read his writings. These beliefs are in direct contradiction to what the Bible teaches. Mormons will say these statements are part of their standard works, but.....
Unfortunately I grew up in the Mormon church and I'm sad to say my parents just got married in the temple. As a father and husband myself the LDS church will never be talked about in my house. It is a religion of occult influence and that's what you are seeing in McConkie during this testimony. I am now 33 and although my dad claims to be a Mormon, never once was Jesus talked about in our house growing up, it was always about prophecy and why the church is true. I pray for all Mormons.
Im sorry that you sad about your parents getting married in GODS KINGDOM.
how do you see a occult influence in his testimony? that christ is the son of the living god and the only way that we can return to live with our father in heaven is through him? thats a secret? nope your wrong
I was blessed to be born a latter-day saint and our house focused on CHRIST and his teachings. If your family didnt thats not the churchs fault SMH
I am not a mormon, but this guy has something else that I have never seen before on a priest. He is not judging everyone for being sinners or he is not shouting or saying that he we are all going to hell. He is talking about christ with a very complex vocabulary and knowledge. This is a real and uncommon priest. First time a religious speech touches me.
@COSPIRACYS Did you know that he went home after this meeting and went to his death bed and died about 5 days later? The Lord took him when he was at his best. He was greatly liked by all that knew him. If that moved you dear COSP, go to Andrie Buceli sining silent night with the tabernacle quire. Its fabulous, The best tenor I have everrrrr heard for sure, SM
@COSPIRACYS I agree with you on how he spoke. Bruce R McConkie is one of the most amazing men I've heard of. If you haven't yet, you should read more of the things he has said.
@COSPIRACYS I bear my testimony that this was a man of God; a true apostle, like those of old time. Like Peter, Paul, John and others. And I can assure you that in these days the Lord has called apostles; twelve of them, to bear testimony of Him like in the older times. The Lord has established His church again in earth, like He made in the New Testament times, with the powers of His Pristhood to bring salvation to mankind. I know this by self, and invite you to know for yourself
@COSPIRACYS Love without truth is irresponsible and not love at all. Jesus certainly preached about hell more than anyone. Nobody likes being told that they must be born again through the blood of Christ or else perish in a lake of fire; however, that is the truth. When Christians witness to people about sin, it's not to condem them, but to save them. Religion is man made, but a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is not.
@abrown2986 Unfortunately, this video proves how deceptive mormonism is. This man speaks of Jesus, but it's not the same Jesus as the one in the bible. The LDS Jesus is a created spirit that was concieved by sexual relations with mary, from a God that used to be a man. BTW, this is LDS doctrine and can be found in the Pearl of Great Price, Journal of Discourses, etc. I was born and raised 5th generation mormon, and can attest to this. I am now a born again Christian.
@TheRedClayHound87 Thanks for sharing. You made me feel good. (Sarcasm) I will now continue to know the testimony of this man that cried on public television witnessing to all the world that this glorious religion, based on kindness and charity (just like Christ did), it absolutely and undoubtedly TRUE.
@TheRedClayHound87 he followed his religion as best as he could, lived life as best as he could, believed and he followed Jesus Christ's teachings as best as he could. God loves all men, no matter their religion. Follow Christ's teachings yourself, and don't be prejudice.
@TheRedClayHound87 Mathew 7:1-2 - Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. Read the whole chapter to understand the condemnation you have just placed yourself under.... God bless you, make sure you practice what you preach!
