well, personally what I do is instrument --> effects --> output[speakers/recording device], in this case that involves psp/ds as the instrument --> effects --> output >:D

Wonderfull act ! loved it , to have the same beatcounter for all channel , maybe you should buy another mixer with separate beatcounter for each channel ? But I didn't notice bad beatmatching , so your method , whatever it is , is not bad at all :)
