  • Hey guys check out my channel and my blog to see my Clown Loach!

    colbysfish.tumblr.com

  • I dont like the tank is boring just one color...

  • From the comments I am guessing that most people don't realialize this is a tank in a zoo (in Germany.)

  • I'm fascinated by the spectacular tank! How do they clean it without disturbing the plants and the bottom? Or do they never do a gravel wash?? How does it not get dirty? Please, if you can reply to this, I would be grateful to learn!

  • Hi can you please tell me if your shark is ever aggressive to your clowns or any other fish had one non aggressive one now I just keep getting physcos that hate my clowns and other loaches and end up taking back to the lfs for another

  • Wow your red tail shark is great!

  • How I miss my red tailed black shark. Yours is a beauty. What is his/her overall length? Thanks.

  • Finally, a freshwater fish-keeper on youtube who seems to know what they're doing. Beautiful tank

  • Nice tank! That Red Tail is off the hook and seems calm.

  • How big is that tank? How much is it's

  • beautiful tank!!!!!

  • do clown loaches like to uproot plants because I have researched on different websites and they say yes and no but no for sure answer

  • That looks nice.

  • Will clown loaches get along with my two oscar fish?

  • @SPART4N1171 if the loaches are full grown adults

  • i like the rose line sharks and how many gallons is the fish tank

  • Are those pearl gouramis?

  • what do you feed you clown loaches

  • I like it, but could do with a little colour. It's very green! Lush I suppose! I call Clown Loachs "Flipper" as I love how their "feet-like" fins flap and paddle them around. So cute!

  • sub my channel for mad nice fish vids i just got a 500 gallon tank

  • nice tank

  • it looks like your tank is overcrowded. as long as they're healthy

  • you have a beautiful tank! What type of pump do you use?

  • 0:00 video ad skip

  • hahahaha shoal

  • @BmoreNiveK hahahahaha shoal indeed!

  • whats that big tetra lookin fish called?

  • @bstaznboimke i believe you are talking about the puntius denisonii?

  • How are your clowns doing today? It looked like I could begin to see their spines. Your tank looks great though and I have a personal fondness of the RTS.

  • those Rosaline Sharks are beautiful!

  • Where do you find 16" loaches. I would REALLY like to see this

  • @Zeppelin3k

The only picture i know is the one one "loaches com". I've never seen such spledid specimen live or on youtube. Your big guys are pretty nice ones. How big are they?

  • @n03lzz 12 inches maybe a little more. Ive never even seen a pic of a 13" clown loach much less a 16"er. Even the aquariums around here dont have loaches over the 10-11" mark. Those are roseline sharks BTW not red tails.

  • @Zeppelin3k

You can see this splendid specimen of a RTBS at 1:26 .

  • @n03lzz

WOW what a BRUTE! I guess next time i should watch the whole video LOL. There are some huge roselines in there too. Nice video

  • @Zeppelin3k

    Yeah, it's an awesome guy.^^

To amend your mistake you have to watch all of my videos till the and and give me a "like" on each one ;D lol...

  • @n03lzz Why is your shark so "Fat" i want mine to look like that but mines only like 2.5"

  • @AquariumMania

Well, this is non of my personal tanks. Mine are "only" 4.5 inches.^^ This one is just a well-fed adult one. It isn't overfed that's how a splendid specimen should look like.

  • @atreyuexsandohs

    True.

  • @TheAnimalEnthusiast

Unfortunally i cannot tell you that exactly. i only know the size of the front glass panel. It's 1,2 meter (3.93 feet) high.

  • i wish i could find a clown loach big enough to go in my tank without getting eaten

  • @Mason749 what fish r they with ?

  • @BIGPOND400

Red Tail Catfish, Large mouth bass, hybrid blue gill, paroon shark. haha

  • @Mason749 i dono what a Large mouth bass is but it sounds big

the loaches can probaly go with the paroon shark (is that the silver looking shark?)

  • Thats one big red tailed black shark! :|

  • @brennansheppard1994

Yes, it is. A really cool guy.

  • wow, that is a realy awsome tank

  • @dolittle1992

    I agree. =)

  • Those guys aren't fully mature yet. When they are they'll top out around 4-6" and sometimes larger.

  • @Guitar5525

The clown loaches? The guys in this tank are about 4-5 inches. At "loaches com" you can see some guys with 16 inches.

  • @n03lzz sorry, *14-15"

  • @Guitar5525

    Ah, ok.. I see.^^

  • wow! that is a really nice peaceful looking tank! well done! :D

  • @dem0n1k

It's definitively well done. Unfortunally this is none of my personal tanks. It's of a zoo near my hometown.

  • please check out my vid on CL mines have been acting differently

  • @ClownLoachCity

    Account closed?^^

  • @n03lzz how big is the red tail shark???

  • @gupssif

    I'd guess nearly 20cm that's 7.8 inches.

  • @gupssif Max 15 cm

  • Nice torpedo barbs too!

  • @ArcherBellGallagher

    Yeah, right. Very cool fish.

  • do the loachess hav to be in school? or can i just have 1 or 2?

  • @jetmea

You should keep them in a bigger group of at least 5 or 6. Maybe checkout a cool website called "loaches com".

  • @n03lzz yep i bout 2 from the same shop with a sailfin mollie and they all got ich

  • @jetmea

They are kinda prone for ich, especially when the water temperature dropps to much during the transport. But you can treat it. It's a sickness that is caused by to much stress.

  • @jetmea

2 or 3 is just right 5 or 6 is just stupid unless you have a big tank

  • @jetmea loaches pair up in 2s

  • Wow... Nice tank.

  • @OpusIra

Yes, true. Thanks for your comment. =)

  • the redtail is enormous!!! mine is 12cm ( a female). we have had her for a year. but we are getting a new tank (240litres) but we are not keeping her because she is so territorial and kills almost any fish that comes into the tank. a bit upset by this.

  • @MInibarJG

Yes, you should heed some advices if you want to keep RTBS. Have you seen the info box on my other video called "My three Red-tailed black sharks / Feuerschwanz Fransenlipper [5/5] " or /watch?v=N1v2Bg5-suc ?

  • your tank is way too small for those loaches. they will get huge. they need at least a 125 for 5 of them.

  • @xs0ngofglory

Hi! Uhm, first this is not my tank. It's out of a zoo near my hometown. For scale: The front glass panel is 1,2 meter (3.93 feet) high. So is way bigger than the 125 gallon that you suggest. But you are right. They do need big tanks. Thanks for your comment.

  • wow how big is that red tailed shark roughly? he looks huge

  • @trivium404:

Yes it is huge. I'd guess nearly 20 cm, that's 7.8 inches.

  • ok if you paus at 1:43 the big black fish wut is that called and will it fit in a 30 gal tank? and wut about a price range?

  • @headbud43:

Hi, this fish is called "Red-tailed black shark" (Epalzeorhynchos bicolor). For further information check out my other video (and it's video description): It's called "My three Red-tailed black sharks / Feuerschwanz Fransenlipper [5/5]" or /watch?v=N1v2Bg5-suc

  • Kribenesis are beautiful. Be careful though, they fight with the bottom dwelling sharks - Red Tailed Sharks and Rainbow Sharks in my experience. They really tend to compete with them for hiding places.

  • @HolySasquatchTurd:

Yes, they are very territorial during the breeding time. You'd definitely need a proper and good structured tank.

  • what fish in the cichlid family do you think would be good in a 32 gallon tank to breed? i have my unpside catfish but it's a sailfin catfish basically the same i guess and well the rest are kinda just filler neons n all that i kinda want some fish that are more of a challange and some personality, maybe i'll get a school of clowns then! hah :D now that i think about it haha(Y)

  • @mattitis77:

What would you think of a pair of kribensis (Pelvicachromis pulcher). They look awesome. They have a very nice breeding behavior and they need not much space. Ok, they are not very challenging to keep.

  • but again i get what you're saying, it's all good, it's all good

  • @mattitis77:

It was like: "Plecostomus is the best fish" - "No, Plecostomus grow to big" - "Not all Plecos grow that big" - "A Plecostomus is not a Pleco"... And i felt a little bit lost in translation.^^

You are totally right. There are some very cool smaller growing plecs which are perfect algae-eaters. Best regards.

  • Comment removed

  • i was talking about it's size dude, not really anything about the species at all, cuz well if you can house a foot long fish then try for something that grows smaller but does the same job like cleaning the algue for your tank that's all, i wasn't trying to be spot on with spelling it's name or whatever but hey that's what post a comment is for right wouldn't be there if you weren't aloud thank god we live in a non communist country haha:P they don't even allow youtube over there it's crazy lol

  • yeah but dude there are a lot of different species of pleco. try a golden nugget or anything really google it i plan on getting it basically because it only grows a max in captivity of about 4 inches which is FAR from a 12 incher! haha i at least THINk it's the golden pleco. that grows that big have to research somemore:) god fish are amazing haha have myself a 32 gallon but i'm in need of a 72 for sure that would be perfect haha

  • @mattitis77:

That's true but "Plecostomus" isn't equal to "Pleco". Plecostomus is also known with the scientific name "Hypostomus plecostomus" aka "suckermouth catfish" (and those guys grow huge).

That's a problem with the english language. It's not my mother language and you guys describe species very very unprecise and confusing. =)

  • the best fish to get for a tank is a plecostomus because they eat alege

  • @robloxfan459:

But there are two things with plecostomus. They grow freaking big (about one foot long), so they need huge tanks. And the don't eat only algae, but all kinds of plants.

  • How big do they get? could I keep a couple in my 25?

  • @CrunchieDan:

Are you refering on the clown loaches? They grow very big, so they need very big tanks. A 25 gallon would be too small, sorry. You should also keep them in bigger groups. Check out "loaches com" for further informations.

  • Yeah - that's alright. Thanks for the info!

  • I also have a clown loach with my red-finned shark

  • @dustychickenbone:

    That's a great combination in a proper tank. =)

  • I really wish I could keep clown loaches with red tailed shark, last time I tried it wasn't pretty.

  • @Xerxes845:

Really? As with keeping every other fish, it depends on a proper tank, but in my tank i've absolutly no problem in this combination. Quite the reverse, they are best tankmates. (Btw. this is not my tank)

  • kumarsa108, if you read it on the internet, it MUST be true.... *rolling eyes*

  • No actually it is the experiance of people who have kept clown loaches for several years. Now try and find 10year old 12"+ clown loaches living in established and lush planted aquariums...i doubt you can. Loachesonline happens to be a site dedicated to the keeping of these animals and Emma Turner is well known around the world for her experiance. But is not just her.

  • its true , i own clown loaches !!! one of them loves to tear up my plants !!! he will sometimes poke holes and other times just rip them to shreds . i dont understand why but they just do .one is 5.5 inches and the other is roughly 8 inches

  • Your fish sit al thoo small!

-srry fot my bad english xd-

  • En ik spreek geen Nederlands. ;)

  • When those clown loach amture they will rip all those palnts up. Shame, they are lovely fish, but i cant keep them becuase i have a plantd tank and know what these little fellas will do when they arent so little.

  • I've never seen or heard something about such a behaviour. I keep them in my planted tank. Ok.. they are not mature and one feet long, but they've never touched my plants.

  • There is no point putting a negative mark next to my comment. Mature clown loaches will be tough on plants. Just look on loaches online.

  • There is no negative mark on your comment?!?

  • Thats strange there was a week ago??

  • Ok, maybe someone gave you an +1...

I'm always grateful for this kinds of background informations. My clown loaches are only about 4.5 inches long jet. Let's see what will happen in the next years.^^

  • I hope they will behave for you. Like I mentioned before i would love to keep them, they will probably be fine for some years, but one day... :0

I have two species of loach in my 864litre, one is Golden zebra Loach (histronica)x5 and the other Zebra species is striata x 3. They grow 6" and 3-4" max.

  • Yeah, get a couple Polka Dots if you can. I know someone that keeps them with Clowns. They're just so peaceful and look cool. They will not uproot plants or move stuff around like Yoyo Loaches do.

  • Yoyos are also more from India, not exactly Southeast Asia.

  • I don't know I guess my Rainbow Shark's were just really aggressive. I do know for a fact though that sometimes you get a peaceful Rainbow or a peaceful RTBS. Right now the RTBS I have is reallllly peaceful. I'm happy with that.

  • Clown Loaches are awesome. You should also try Polka Dot Loaches, if you can find them. They are very peaceful and do not have teeth like the Clown Loach does.

  • Polka Dot loaches.. That's a cool suggestion. They would match perfectly into my 111 us gallon Southeast Asia tank.

  • I've heard some RTBS's can be nasty. I had an Albino Rainbow Shark that got about 6 inches and that guy was a peaceful swimmer, but he had killed many fish, a dwarf gourami, blue rams, and others as well. This was in a big tank too with lots of hiding places. The regular Rainbow I had was just as bad, actually nipping at fins of other large and small fish.

  • @HolySasquatchTurd really? i have NEVER had a rainbow touch another fish

  • HolySasquatchTurd * i have kept a few rainbow shark myself... when i first bought them i had 2.. one chased the other constantly... the one that got chased alot was very slow growing where as the other got bigger.. the smaller one jumped out of the tank just before i was gonna move him... i have noticed that when you only keep one they keep to themselves... if you want to keep more i recomend a big tank with TONS of hiding places because when they see each other they always chase.

  • i was told that fish sizes are generated by genetics like humans... if you breed to small sized "red tailed black sharks" together you will most likely get a small one... vise versa.

  • I've never heard something like that associated with RTBS. What i know is, that they breed them in big farms by using hormones, because there is no other way to breed them in captivity.

  • @n03lzz well yes but thats just to get them to breed... the genetics determines the sizes...

  • Yes, sure. But i cannot believe they did some giant breeds. That's totally untypical for fishkeeping. Usually the native forms wich live in natural habitats have the biggest specimen.

  • Another Q, have you kept Rainbow Sharks before? I find that they're much more aggressive most of the time.

  • To my knowleadge the specialist literature says that it's less aggressive, but i've never kept them.

  • Oh yeah, forgot to ask. Are you using flourish fertilizers? If so, which ones?

  • I don't use any fertilizers.

  • Comment removed

  • Are you sure that Red Tailed Shark is 8 inches? They usually reach 6 inches. 7 inches in some cases. I never heard of 8 inches. As for keeping Red Tailed Sharks, you need a minimum of 55 gallons, hiding places, bogwood or rocks, lots of plants, they will love you for that and will thrive and reach a big size. Feed theme algae wafers/sinking wafers, flakes, bloodworms and brine shrimp.

  • I've heard about 8 inches in really big tanks. I guess it's size, but it nearly reaches my hand span which is 8 inches. But i'm going to prove that, the next time i visit him. Check out my lates video of my sharks called: "My three Red-tailed black sharks / Feuerschwanz Fransenlipper [5/5]" or /watch?v=N1v2Bg5-suc . There i put some of my knowledge into the video description.

  • @HolySasquatchTurd - i've seen 8 inch rainbow sharks at the specialty store i go to. the guy told me that they were caught in the wild and could actually get maybe an inch larger.

  • Comment removed

  • are those things barbs or tetras

  • They are barbs. It's a Southeast Asian themed tank.

  • Nice Denisoni Barbs (Torpedo barbs/Roseline sharks...) I have seven in my 8 footer, but they arent SE Asian fish they come from South Asia In Kerala,India

  • Yes, that's right. Did i say something different? Sorry.

  • my red tail just hides and doesnt eat , can anyone help?/

  • Can you upload a video of your tank so i can get an idea of it?

Try to offer him some vegetable like cucumber. Put a slice in a cup with boiling water for a minute and sink it in your tank.

  • @ownagevids888: I've had the same problem with mine, and it MIGHT have been a bacterial infection. I tried Sera's Bactopur Direct (mostly because a platy died, and an angelfish wouldn't eat), but the redtail got a much bigger apetite, and now regularly eat flakes.

This should be the last resort however, since Bactopur kills all the bacteria, including the good ones, so your tank will be "reset".

  • hey could i fit 7 tiger barbs, 1 red tailed shark, and 3 clown loaches in a 26 gallon tank

  • Hi, red tailed black sharks a clown loaches definetly need bigger tanks with about 100 gallon. It's ok for the tiger barbs. Maybe choose some smaller loaches.

  • NO you need 4 minimum Clown loaches they are very social fish they need there own kind and secondly a 26 gallon tank is far to small for one clown loach

  • i just got 4 clown loach and they hide inside a holo pice of bogwood . do clown loach normaly hide?

  • You posted your question too often, so it got marked as spam. I answer it also if you ask me once.^^

That's normal. They need up to one year to accustom themselves to a new tank. First they are very anxious but they will become more brave from day to day.

  • hey dude one question not related to uer vid but cant i put this in a 29 gallon tank with lots of plants(normal amont) good center piece(drift wood) and stock in there

    1 koi angel fish

    6-8 rummy nose tetras

3 blood fin tetras or danios

    6 albino cory cats

    3-5 oto cats

and any more u think i can add to it or is it okay were it is at

    (29 gallon us gallon set)

  • 29 gallon is definitively too small for angel fish but the rest is ok. Maybe a few more bloodfin tetras to have a nice group. If you abandon the danios you have a nice south american theme.

I would start with the community like this and think about adding other fish later when the tank is running good.

  • o okay so wat kind of plants u think well be good with a south american theme ??

  • Echinodorus (Burhead) are mostly easy to grow. So plants like Echinodorus bleheri (commonly known as Amazon sword plant) would be great for such a theme.

  • Really, cause I was thinking of adding an altum to my 29gal....

  • Altum angels are very hard to keep, and they grow huge. Apart from this they should be kept in groups. Honestly, I wouldn't try that.

  • Would scalares be okay as singles?

  • They are very closely related and have the same requirements. Those are very big cichlids, in your case i wouldn't try to find a very big one that might suffer in your tank after a few years. Try to find some fish that can develop to a splendid specimen in your tank.

  • @n03lzz wat are the striped fish not the loaches but the other 1 reply via msg please would apriciate it

  • The ones in the at 0:20 in the foreground?

    Those are called:

red lined torpedo barb, roseline shark, bleeding eye barb, or Denison's barb (Puntius denisonii)

  • to be honest for me discuss are the worlds most difficult fish besides arowana.

  • how old is your red tailed?

  • This is not my red tailed black shark. You can see mine if you watch my playlist "Red-tailed black shark" or /view_play_list?p=C9A1A924E2C84B04

  • awesome video, this helped me to decide on getting a red tailed shark as i was unsure of compatibility with the clowns. cheers!

  • Red tailed black sharks and clown loaches doing fine in a community tank. If the tank is big enough, of course.

  • How do you get the colors of your fish so full? I'm thinking about getting some clown loaches for my new 55 gal, but the colors are usually dull in the pet stores. Answer please?

  • good water, regular water changes and some chemicals for the water to add nutrients

  • The colours of fish in pet stores are often very dull. It's because they don't feel comfortable there. If you put those fish in a proper tank with proper food, they will change their colour soon. It's important that you don't buy slimmed down loaches. That's a bad sign.

  • ok, thanks

  • awsome i would breed thos fishies easy! watch my vids!

  • Hi, thanks for your comment. You call yourself fishbreeder... i miss videos of your fish or tanks in your channel!

  • sorry only if u ask for me to breed them then ill put a video up 4 u!

  • what are those bigish fish the c loaches are swiming with ? nice vids keep up the good work :)

  • E.g. the fish at 0:17 ? Those are red lined torpedo barb, roseline shark, bleeding eye barb, or Denison's barb (Puntius denisonii)... And thank you! =)

  • here is an example of fancy jibberish:

klonnt wegr thuy waggner niyh hyky shuok

Meaning:Your face looks like a pile of donkey sh*t.

Uses: Speaking to a teacher you dont like Making fun of people in front of their faces.

Note: the 2nd 1 will probably not wor as youre probably gonna be the one who gets made fun of

  • I am only... completely astonished... lol...

  • There is a simple guide to understanding jibberish:

    1 it dosen't exist

    2 It makes no sense

3 It means the speaker is crazy

  • Three good reasons.^^

  • well said.

  • me me dod dodo rang rang doud lal geretn geten he way dung dung berre i spilt ketehup on the lawn he hu ites xhse one websann i fgdj flash jghus my skfje cok onthu webcam snwhu :D:D:D
