  • That poor bird was in need of a beak trim years ago. That's the most terrible thing I've seen in a while. It's abuse to let a beak deteriorate like that.

A bird won't die in 2 or 3 days from not eating unless it has a serious disease.

You never let a bottom beak get like that, it's probably why to top beak is so eroded.

A bird keeps it's feathers until the end. Lack of feathers has nothing to do with age after it's a hatchling.

  • this makes me sad seeing complete disregard for an Avians health.

  • This bird isnt old, it's sick and probably has PBFD.

  • Fucking idiots - it's not old - it's sick or hurt.

  • This bird is fine, if a bird knows it's going to die it stops eating.

  • Jesus to protect this bird please... :(

  • i think we should put him 2 sleep after all the pain he suffered...

  • sad :(

  • I hope those fat brats who were laughing get biten by a younger bird!

  • Oh this is soo sad :''(

  • hes beak looks horrible though

  • omg, poor thing. he's in horrible condition. are they sure he's not suffering from any disease?

  • Why are they laughing???? Whether old or ill, it breaks my heart to see the bird in this condition.

  • God bless you

  • people are fucking retarded if they do this to other beings

  • They should euthanise him.. seriously... what quality of life does this bird have? I bet it's suffering all the time.

I can't even properly fly, or climb.. or EAT... just look at it's broken beak.

  • HORRIBLE!!!!!!! This is torture!

  • he's ill, not old! -.- that's not funny

  • poor little baby

    May God bless you....

you will be there in our prayers for your fast recovery....

  • Yeah, the poor thing is diseased. I found a cockatoo while out walking my dog with this. I took it to the vet and rthey just instantly put it down. Its its a horrible life for them. And wild ones end up being stuck on the ground and starving to death, or other animals killing them

I would be very very very upset if this animal was kept in this condition in a zoo.

  • I love him..he is so wonderful

  • what the hell is wrong with his beak?????

  • @joeypriolo Psittacine Beak & Feather Disease

    Its not old. Its ill.

  • please read the wikipedia Psittacine Beak & Feather Disease.

If the sight of this bird affects you the sight of a bird with PB&FD will upset you

read the paragraph below I've copied & help with the funding if you can .. a couple £ or $ etc will go along way into saving many lives & halting the spread

    quote Wikipedia

An experimental killed virus vaccine has been produced, but the further development to refine it and make it commercially available is progressing slowly due to the lack of funding.

  • read wikipedia..

    quote

The acute form of the disease is manifested by lethargy, loss of appetite, vomiting and diarrhea. Due to the severe suppression of the immune system, multiple secondary viral and bacterial infections will develop, which will cause the death within two to four weeks.

  • beak and feather disease should be put to sleep quite cruel to think that its just old

  • he's old ok..but i think he suffer for a parrot desease.....is not normal his beak !!!!..I hope he can live his life always happy!!!!

  • He's a sweet old man licking at his mouth as old people do. He has a full crop the fresh open air breeze on his face. You've been informed he is 90 years old! Have some respect for the person showing him to you or don't look. If he had Beak & feather disease he would have yellow crusts all over from the infected feather follicles. His beak like his feathers lacks regrowth so will wear away but he's hand fed. Believe me if a bird is unhappy it will stop accepting food & die within 2 or 3 days.

  • @FLOSSYTREADWELL I guess he looks about as good as your average 92-year-old human.

  • @veelalynne

I agree.. instead of his teeth going to pot his beak has bless him. They can't live to such an age in the wild due to being easy prey for preditors so there's few elderly birds for people to compare. Only this past few years are captive birds living longer as we learn dietary/health needs. So we can't blame peeps for the sight of this bird alerting them to the disease.

Also B & F desease is highly contagious a zoo vet would not allow an infective bird in their stock

    peace to all!

  • some cockatoos live up to 60 years old. thats a fact. look it up

  • Heartbreaking.......poor little guy.

  • Er hat bestimmt mitbekommen als die Mauer in Berlin kaputt gehauen wurde :P

  • he has a disease called beak and feather disease. put him out of his misery ffs -.-'

  • Comment removed

  • Bullshit! Thats PBFD!!

  • This bird is obviously suffering from Psittacine Beak and Feather disease...PBFD for short. It is a devastating disease caused by a circovirus..It deforms feather regrowth and the beak is eventually lost if the bird survives secondary infections...There is no cure...Birds do not suffer feather loss to this extent due to "old age"..

  • @Myfuzzbut

you are right this is just animal cruelty, please give the animal some rest and put the poor animal to sleep, that is just not how a cockatoo needs to look like, not at that age, poor thing.

  • Looks like he's missing half of his beak...

  • je ne veux pas casser l'ambiance, mais ce cacatoès est malade: il a une des 4 maladies aviaires, l'âge n'est pour rien à sa laideur...

This cokatoo isn't ugly cause he's old, he's sick, there are four parrot's sickness, he has one...

  • guys...dont be so mad at the zoo..its real...i went there 1 time and the tousrist said his just old..like us humans...if we get old..our hair is starting to be white and our scalp is getting baldy and our skin is so dry....

  • He looks like that thing on Eraserhead.

  • One day, you'll be old too

  • Stop laughing at him

  • THE BIRD isn't trying to break any record at all!!!! The owners now, want's to be in the guinness book of record, maybe, but the bird doesn't give a sh...! ....The bird doesn't give a f.. about any guinness record!!!! If the bird is «happy and in not to bad shape» , well, that's fine with me!.... Just like human beings, we are talking about quality of life here : if the bird still has a reason for living for itself, fine! Otherwise.................. pffffffffffft! Let it be!

  • @Hekyvoq sure

  • guys. he's 92. pretty sure humans don't look so hot when they're 92. calm down.

  • omgoshhh what do they do to this poor innocent!? this is horrible :'(

  • @100prelichy Nature made hi age, it happens, he's just old. The fact he's this old and still happy and alive means he's be taken great care of. He's probably a the Zoo because his owners died of old age and he took a liking to someone who worked there

  • uhh pretty sure i've met some 92 year old humans that looked worse off, and they were not in pain and seemed fine. he is perched on his own, so must not be too much pain, and seems alert. but hey, let's go "put down" those old people in nursing homes, just because they look like they're in pain, and don't look as vibrant as younger people. obviously, there's no tubes or machines keeping this bird alive, its nature.

  • can he play tennis?

  • Not to be a ball buster but maybe should put it out of misery cuz kind of looks like its in pain, without feathers i doubt it will fly at all and a rotted out beak just looks painful. )-"':

  • @Tyrant9 You sir are an idiot who doesn't understand the process of aging

  • @ZabrioShugotenshi You sir are an idiot who doesn't understand troll comments e_e".

  • will all do respect hes 90 years plus, he lived a good life if he were to die tommorow, not trying to be a dick but hes lucky to have lived that long.

  • Arthur may be old, but I can tell ya that age does not rot out the beak like that unless he wasn't proplerly taken care of. Now being in the philipines, maybe they didn't have the medication to treat him...I don't know, i just feel sorry for him

  • poor thing

  • Looks so much like a dinosaur.

  • This is Psittacine Beak and Feather Disease.

  • its an Asgard!

  • mercy killing? lol

  • @MrBclong not funny dude. the bird had a hard life, but it seems the zoo is taking care of him well now.

  • @gcpreda I highly doubt that the zoo is taking good care of him. He should not be outdoors at that kind of situation. He has a fatal disease.

  • poor desiesd bird

  • This bird is diseased, not old, cockatoos can live to 125 years without looking a single bit different than when they were younger than a year, that is if they were well taken care of.

  • Do u know much about parrots? Read all of "TheGalahGirl" posts. I believe she is more of an expert than u. If it's just old age, and he's being sufficiently cared for, why don't they at least trim his lower beak? He must already have a terrible time trying to eat with a crumbling upper beak, much less a ridiculously long lower beak. Look up Cookie from the Brookfield Zoo in Chicago. He's 78 yrs. old & doesn't look like this.

  • the bird is NINTETY TWO YEARS OLD there's only so much you can do for any creature when it reaches that age. just seeing how it lived for so long must mean it's had a pretty decent life. if it had been abused or neglected it would've died decades ago. do you see 92 year old people runnin around lookin as if they're in their prime? when they get older there's only so much their bodies can handle. and yeah his beak may be deteriorating, but so will everyone's teeth when they get to live this long

  • @RasheedMahir Go check TheGalahGIRL posts. You know nothing about parrots. It is NOT normal when parrots do not have any feathers left and that their beak is mutilated like this.

    Parrots are not like humans.

  • wow!

  • To finish my post from a few minutes ago...... When they are being eaten alive, I'd stick them in a "Zoo" in some s***hole 3rd world country, and charge people to see "The World's Oldest A-Holes".

  • WTF!!!! As TheGalahGirl and others have mentioned, this is a young bird w/an advanced case of PBFD. Even if you don't know anything about parrots, and regardless of how old you think this one is, any idiot (even these ones) should be able to see that this Cockatoo is suffering terribly I'd like to give these cretins AIDS, Leprosy & Necrotizing Fasciitis. Then maybe THEY can be as "HAPPY" as this poor animal is. When their mouths, tongues, faces & bodies are being eaten alive by bacteria,

  • This bird is no old bird, you can look at the feet and tell that. The lower mandible has not been trimmed in a long time showing the improper care of this bird. A featherless bird like this should not be kept out in the open air but in an enclosed area away from drafts.

  • goes to show what some people will do for a buck!...you can clearly see the severe state of deterioration of the beak & tongue yet this scumbag has the audacity to say he's happy?!,& judging by the coments of the spectators in the background they're either as ignorant as hell or are just as heartless as the moron who uploaded the footage!

  • THEY did NOT take care of this bird. The reason it looks like this is because they let its beak become overgrown. They did not provide it with the right nutrition or the correct play toys in order for it to be able to keep its beak under control. This is neglect and abuse. I own a Yellow Naped Amazon Parrot and this is out of control and sad!

  • This is the most horrible thing I ever saw! People make me sick.

  • it has no feathers because it has a needs more nutrition.

  • @Jonas24ever this is a young bird - which can be confirmed by the disease he is suffering from: PBFD / PCB. There is no leg ring on the bird - so the disease is the only way to confirm its age.

Please check out the factsheet on this terrible disease: tinyurl(DOT)com/77v9uez (replace (DOT with a dot .)

The zoo is scamming people, charging them to look at a young, horribly sick bird, but saying it is an old bird. It is not.

Google "Cebu City Zoo" - the "zoo" is an abomination.

  • @TheCarvingman Bird was taken to Cebu city zoo in Feb 2010, by a family who could not afford vet care for the disease, and so palmed the bird off to the zoo, which is equally clueless, and could not care less about the bird. They are more concerned with scamming people than caring for the bird, which is actually young (there is no leg band, so the only proof of age can be determined from the bird's disease - PBFD.

Karma will get you for your lack of compassion for this poor bird.

  • @MegaRandompeoplez No, the bird is NOT old - it is horribly diseased. Old birds should not look any different than young adult birds. Please look up some info on PBFD / PCB - which is what this poor creature is suffering from: tinyurl(DOT)com/77v9uez (replace (DOT with a dot .)

There is NO excuse for the zoo allowing this sort of cruelty - NONE.

  • @SpychoSpy No, they do not - you CANNOT tell the difference between an old, healthy bird and a young healthy bird - trust me, I have 16 parrots, aged from juvenile to geriatric. It is NOT normal for an old bird to look like this - rather, it is a deadly and highly contagious disease, PBFD / PCD.

Please learn more about this dreadful illness here: tinyurl(DOT)com/77v9uez - replace(DOT) with a dot.

This zoo is an abomination - google "Cebu City Zoo" to see what you're missing.

  • @bellabelieber95 the bird is young - healthy old birds look NO different to healthy young birds.

This poor creature was suffering from a deadly and highly contagious virus. There is no leg band on the bird to verify the age - so the zoo is simply scamming visitors to go and look at an ill bird, under the pretence that the bird is old. Disgusting.

Check out this URL to learn more about the horrific disease that will already have killed this poor bird: tinyurl(DOT)com/77v9uez

  • This is definitely PBFD / PCD (Psittacine Beak and Feather Disease / Psittacine Circovirus Disease), for which there is no known cure, sadly. The fact that Arthur's tongue is also deformed is another definitive indicator of this.

Depression is yet another symptom of this horrible disease. I can't honestly believe that Arthur has any real quality of life - worse, the virus can easily spread to other birds. Without a leg ring, it's impossible to verify his age - so no world record.

  • @TheGalahGirl

tinyurl(DOT)com/77v9uez <--- Copy and paste into your browser address bar - replacing (DOT) with a dot / . / period for a fact sheet about PBFD / PCD.

This bird is NOT old, and it is outrageously cruel to keep him like this.

    Poor Arthur.

  • what happend to his beak and frethers

  • @venusflytrap99 His beak would've been worn down because it would've stopped developing, resulting in a worn down beak, that could've been bashed in his life. And the feathers are purely old age and/or preening/plucking...

This bird has been looked after incredibly well

  • @wearjo Complete bollocks - this bird has an incurable, infectious virus. Birds don't lose feathers or beaks due to old age, but through illness.

Even if this was a case of plucking - which it is NOT - that in itself indicates either poor diet (e.g. calcium & vit A deficiency), or severe psychological problems. Both would indicate severe neglect.

Please restrict your opinions to matters you know something about. You clearly know nothing about birds and their diseases.

  • Rest assured that his bird has been well taken care of. He lives at the Cebu city zoo and his name is Arthur. This bird is in fact 90+ years old, he is the oldest animal in the zoo. He lost his feathers from old age, so he cant fly anymore. He is hand fed. He is fine. You all over-reacted. He used to be someones pet and they used to sing songs with him. The bird is trying to break the guinness world record for fuck sakes, cut him some slack.

  • @Cwooodsy Thanks for letting me know! I thought he was well taken care when we met him.

  • @RUGGEDLIFEdotcom im sorry but this person gave you false info, parrots rarely reach past 65yrs. but this parrot may be old, u can tell because of its worn out eyes and beak.

  • @dunitrg56

you are misinformed..Aus sulphur crested cockys have a life span of 80- 100 yrs...can be longer in captivity...

  • @Cwooodsy There is no leg ring on the bird - so the disease is the only way to verify his age. Telling visitors that this is an old bird is merely dishonesty on the part of the zoo - trying to cover up their negligence & scam more money out of unsuspecting people who are ignorant of the horrible reality of PBFD - one of the most awful diseases a bird can suffer from.

PBFD occurs in birds up to 12 MONTHS old - and death generally occurs within just 2 years of contracting the disease.

  • @Cwooodsy This bird is so diseased from PBFD, there is NO way that he will even come close to the world record for an umbrella cockatoo - which is 130 years old. The fact remains that this poor bird is a juvenile with PBFD - which is somewhat similar to AIDS in people.

Cebu City zoo is infamous for its animal abuse. Check out this YouTube vid to see what they do to their tigers: EFP1pltIbeo

    Criminal.

  • @TheGalahGirl Oh... Didn't know anything about the zoo, but my great grandparents owned a cockatoo that lived to about 85 years and it had been kept in perfect conditions and it had lost a bit of it's beak (lower i think) and didn't have many feathers...

  • @Cwooodsy I am finding it hard to believe that. Birds don't lose that many feathers of old age.

  • the animal had long life i think they should put down because they let disease get to him

  • Looks like it has PBFD. Sadness

  • poor bird ):

  • wtf man... what the hell is wrong with you... if you were bald and your teeth were as fucked up as that bird's beak, do ya think you'd be ok? ive seen 92 year old people that looked better than that bird! youre out of touch with nature and yourself.

  • nah it looks like 'beak and feather disease'. its really common in cockatoos. my bird has it, they die in the wild from it coz they cant feed themselves and eventually cant fly. the fact that it is still alive means its prob well looked after because it needs a heat lamp and to be hand fed

  • NEGLECTED BIRD and a a disslike bar "light saber"

  • Hey guys. you do know this is what ACTUALLY happens to a parrot when they get old?

its like a person, they get old and loose all there feathers, like a man looses his hair.

and its beak will start to break and get fragile from all the smashing and biting of objects, like an old man loosing his teeth.

its not been neglected, and tbh, if it was actually neglected would it even live up to the age of 92? i really don't think so. :)

  • This bird has been severly neglected. If it had been of been cared for properly, it would of grown up to have feathers, but just a little less feathers than young birds, its beak would of looked NOTHING like that, its tounge would of at least been pinker thank that, and so many more things. this makes me SO upset.

  • someone please shoot the bird. It would be merciful.

  • @ElianaJHowerton IT'S A NEGLECTED BIRD!!!! READ THE OTHER COMMENTS FOR MORE INFO!!! YOU SAW HOW BAD OF SHAPE HE IS!! HE IS PROBABLY DEAD BY NOW!!!!

  • even tough i have a phobia of birds this makes me sad :'(

  • oh... don't laugh... please....

  • ur a disgrace to human being... Shame on u!!!!1

  • oh poor thing .. its got an undershot beak needs to be clipped its terrible ...

  • looking at the size of that bird, im pretty sure its a baby bird

  • @qo2000818 im pretty sure hes not, look at his bill

  • @AvesTrance im pretty sure your right but i don't think everyone else gets it looking at the dislike bar.....

  • @qo2000818 Actually, I'm pretty sure this is beak and feather disease. This poor bird looks way too messed up for this to be a baby.

  • Mate Look At the like bar. I am Suprised Someone has not Smashed You in the face

  • This is disgusting!!! That poor bird must be in pain! It's truly repulsive to see what people will find amusing. I want to grab it and run away to give it some serious TLC and medical attention!

  • Are you sure its not sick?

  • The fact that this cockatoo is in such a bad shape, shows the zoo's lack of knowledge of animal welfare. (Or they just don't care.) Because age will NOT do this to a bird's feathers and beak. The only thing that makes me feel a little bit better after watching this video, is that so many people expressed their worries about the well being of the cockatoo..

  • This pitiful bird needs a whole lot of TLC! This isn't amusing in any way shape or form. What an awful, sad miserable life for any living creature, especially one so defenseless. It TOTALLY sickens me to think that this poor creature could possibly have lived it's life in conditions such as this. A healthy cockatoo is lucky to see 70 yrs. I'm so nauseous now. Wish I could have him.

  • Poor bird, it's terrible what people do and can laugh at :(

  • Thumbs DOWN... I can't understand how people can be so cruel against their pets... This bird isn't 92 years old but sick... 92 or not, the bird needs help, it can't live like that...

  • you guys are sick!

  • that is not a 92 year old cockatoo. he has beak and feather disease!

  • hey he can be what ever he wants ,give that bastard his respect ungoua

  • THIS IS MESSED UP! THE BIRD IS SICK! X(

  • @ItsAPOrlando1small birds like a cockatiel live up to 30 yrs, bigger ones live even longer 2 even IF he is old, he is not beig cared for properly, he should NOT be out on display and should be in a heated indoor area where he can get proper treatment. And people are sitting there laughing at him wich is really getting kicked when your down. Grace Topaz

  • poor thing :(

  • That is not a bird anymore,it's a zumbi.

  • Birds dont have a longer lifespan as humans do they dont even reach up to 20yrs old and that bird does look diseased.

  • @jlooe123 << naw..Macaws are know to live to 120 years old.. average 60 to 70 years if they dont die from human err..

  • @jlooe123 Actually there are species cockatoos and parrots that can live 80-100 years... basically the same life span as a human.

  • Je ne crois pas qu'il a 92 ans mais qu'il est plutot malade sans plumes avec son bec tout déformé et brisé... faite-le voir par un bon vétérinaire et c'est urgent....certaine maladie sont transmissible et mortel.

  • Just because its old doesn't mean it should look like that. That is a disgusting diseased bird and they could have easily taken care of it.

  • poor parrot what's wrong with him? :S

  • Stupid!!! You can tell he is old, and obviously has problems. He needs to be put to sleep.. Poor baby!

  • @RustedLocket Umadbro?

  • awwwwwww poor 92yr old it looks like a little cutee baby

  • S/he should be put down ASAP :(

  • His telomeres need a good lengthening

  • That poor bird. He has no feathers, his beak is rotted away--he has to be miserable. I hope he's rescued and either nursed back to health or euthenized soon. :(

  • Do you think no one feeds him all those 92 years of his life? LOL That is call aging.

  • :/ this makes me sad. i kno its old and all...but i still dont think it likes the way its mouth feels, i mean look at how its moving its tongue around :/

  • did anybody read the description it was at a zoo

  • feed him and give him water dumbass

  • Anyone consider that this may be a new rescue bird?

  • save him!

  • awwwww SCARY but cute

  • @JoseKlop Glass houses, pal. A kneejerk assumption from 30 seconds of video is not a medical diagnosis. Would you say the same thing about a 90 year old man who lost his hair and teeth. Age is not a guarantee of disease.

  • I have seen and been around birds, and seen film of birds of advanced age. It is not unusual for birds this old to lose feathers. It is not automatically a sign of disease. You can't diagnose from a 30 second video. What's more, I looked up this bird. His name is Arthur, and is at least 90 years old, is well cared for, and in no pain or discomfort. They are hoping Arthur will break the Guinness record for oldest bird. That sounds like a good incentive to take good care of him, no?

  • @buttonvalley In Feb 2010, Arthur was taken to the zoo, by a family who CLAIMED to have had him for decades - with no leg ring, there is no proof of age.

PBFD - which Arthur undoubtedly suffers from - is a disease of young birds. It's far more likely that the family decided that they could not afford vet treatment, and foisted this sick bird onto the zoo - who are apparently equally clueless about what to do, or the awful reality of Arthur's horrible disease, PBFD.

  • The bird is not ugly. The bird's owners and the lowlifes laughing at him are ugly.

  • Man...this, this is just sad.

  • Ok, I can't watch.... Fucking idiots...... Fucking mother fuckers....peice of shit human beings.... You think this is funny? You think this is fucking funny?! That animal is deathly ill, mentally and physicly. Poor soul....the owners of the zoo need to be fucking shot, igonorant bastards.....

  • Looks like classic Psittacine beak and feather disease. Highly unlikely the bird is very old at all. PBFD is highly contagious to other parrots.

  • So much for third world nations huh? Makes you wonder why it is so great to have them all flood into the USA??? Maybe the border should be closed? Right dems.? We all know you were the ones to put $44 million dollars worth of steel in storage instead of finishing the fence. At a cost of $9 million to taxpayers. Thanks nancy reed and 0bama!

  • This was really sad to watch. Poor baby.

  • @ buttonvalley are you realy that stupid? I work with parrots myself and I own a few too. This bird is very sick and his beak and tongue are hurting like hell!!

  • @ buttonvalley are you real

  • This vid made me cry, the bird is suffering so badly! I love my parrots but I would never let them suffer so much!

  • Pure Evil....

  • how did i get from justin bieber to a naked bird!?

  • @skittlescrazys b/c you wanted to see a real Cock

  • This is horrible and makes me want to cry :(

  • I think this Cebu zoo got closed down in 2007? Can anyone confirm that?

  • @jadziadaxgal well dis vid was posted in 2010... and your rarely going to post a video 3 years after...so im guessing not

  • this is a seriously sick bird with beak and feather disease and it's a CONTAGEOUS disease to other birds. Keeping this bird on display is abuse.

  • That's fucking terrible. poor thing.

  • this made me cry

  • Poor thing!
