Everyones path on islam is at different stages. Some people alhamdullilah have reached deeper understandings of their faith than others. Rather than condemning, those who do dawa should be helping others onto the straight path via friendships etc....I used to 'beautify' the hijab wen i first wore it out of a misconception that it mite make ppl like hijab, but my understanding of hijab became on a deeper level from Allah's hidaya and me searching deeper...
