@dnahoghunter how about the hornadys? iam grouping very nicely with everything from 53 to 60 gr hornadys, then again i cant complain about my dpms ar groups even with cheap walmart target ammo, again any input would be great, iam thinking 53 gr due to impressive ballistics but then again is it too small? peace
nice shot, i have an ar-15, no problems grouping under an inch at 200y, i plan on using it for some hogs, i noticed u said u use hollowpoints, will fmj work as well or should i stick to hollowpoints? reason iam asking is because i hear on some larger hogs their bones are tough and wont penetrate..any info would be gladly appreciated. thanks, i want to get it right the first shot, also noticed some say a neck shot?? so i was thinking should i use m855 penetrator for head shots and hp for neck? ty
@MrDaajman get rid off the FMJ!!! Watch my vids hog wars 4.. Iuse a full metal on the neck form 15 feet! pops right thru and hog gone! I'll stick with the hollow points form Federal, or teh Balistic tips... I learned my lesson. They work for neck head and body...
@dnahoghunter what load if you dont me asking, 55 thru 62gr will shoot fine thru my 1:9 twist, havent tried anything heavier but so far accuracy is great with hornady, was thinking about those superformance loads or tap, any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

What round did you use? I am picking up a .223 AR-15 and goin to use it for Hogs and Deer. Just need help on the right round. If you would be willing to email me that would be awesome. I will try to send you my email.
Great video, I love me some wild pig sausage links and pan sausage, ribs ain't half bad either, you rated my vid 5 stars for effort, I appreciate it (dmgilbert69) I use a Winchester 30-06 for my deer and pig, the one you can barely see in my vid ended up being a 250 lb. boar with some nasty tusks. I'll try to get some better lighting next time, btw, I usually spine shot every time, drops em right there.
Right behind the ear would have angled down the body. That only works when they are 1/4 away or sideways. This I know cause all I take is neck and head shots. Thanks for the comment.
.223s are a lil too small for the big nasty hogs. If shot in just the right place, they will work, but a bit more horsepower is handy when the 450 pound girl's boyfriend comes out after ya and he is pissed that you shot his sweetheart... I have 12 stitches to show from a silent attack and its really up close shooting and "dangerous" because these damned hogs will not only attack, they will also eat you if given the chance.... btw, great jeep 4x4
15 rounds of .40 cal on my hip. That'll help. Was surounded by hogs in HHW #2, didn't know it until I saw the footage. Scary stuff. Thanks for the comment.
Thats the spot. If above them, I go down at eye level. If they are 1/4 away, Just a hair below and behind the ear. Don't want wind drift to spoil the shot. If facing me, tearduct level and center. I have the back of a bullet that I pulled from between the skin and meat... back behind a sows shoulder blades. It traveled all the way through the head and neck!!! Tell me a .223 doesn't penatrate. And with a varment round too! Thanks for the comment.
Great video, If you need any help getting your videos or channel exposed, i use a service called thetubeviews . net it has helped 5 of my videos get ranked on the first page

a good shot placement is right behind the ear on a hog. try it

will an ar15 work decent for texas hogs if i limit how big the hog i shoot is?
aandrew610 2 years ago
Size doesn't matter. A head shot will drop them all.
dnahoghunter 2 years ago
@dnahoghunter and with an ar15, chambered in .223 its hard to miss!! it's so damn accurate. God I love the .223 round.

GCMxVeGeTa 2 years ago
55 grain... Don't know the rate of twist. Sorry. Paperwork was gone from box when I bought it.
Thanks for the comment.
dnahoghunter 2 years ago
@dnahoghunter Rate of twist should be on the barrel! atleast my ar15 rifles they are. i dont know about your rifle.
