This movie is a masterpiece. I take screenshots of the movies I watch, and from this movie there was just a ridiculous amount. A lot of people go into this movie thinking "this is just for shock value" but the movie says a lot about human nature, the intrinsic sadism within us people that can awake, especially when encouraged by group pressure. Also, how humans can be broken down into submission. The dialogue, especially by the "storytellers", was so eerie and void of human sanity. Amazing.

@OlderG0ds the movie is based on a novel by de sade, and have nothing to do with fascism. in this movie pasolini talks about the corruption that come from power and the de-personification of poor people done by the rich class. eating shit is a metaphore used to show the horror of the social class relations of capitalistic society. you can be agree or not with pasolini, but don't criticize if you don't get the point of the opera!

@EndPuppet There must be something wrong with those who took part in the making of a film of that story. At least I can't see any humanity-serving cause in the film. A film cannot serve medical/psychological study purposes in any way the novel already wasn't. So the only reason I can think of for why someone wants to turn it into a film, is for entertainment which it really isn't to anyone sane. WHY would a sane person want to watch this?

Overall, they are civilized and proud nation, but as any other country in the world, they have some extreme groups that did no good for the humanity. @VampireOutlaw As an example of a movie, that I would not recommend to anyone (and was kind of forced to watch myself), there is the Human Centipede (first part). While not explicit in its visual form, it is a really sick movie that has no purpose, no quality and no taste. It forces an idea upon your mind that you would never think of yourself, and unfortunately that idea stays with you for too long... Did not watch the second one and considering the reviews, I'm glad I didn't...

@EndPuppet I checked that movie out on IMDB a few days ago and its plot summary indeed came off so sick that I have no desire to recommend it to anyone for any reason. The only thing it takes for its plot to become reality is if someone sick and intelligent enough to go for it. Seriously, MPAA and other such organizations should be more strict on what they allow to be released to provoke wrong kind of creativity. Just b/c something isn't explixit/graphic, doesn't mean it's harmless.
