Ther are traces of Springsteen in this video, not really the song, unless u count the sax, but the way Colin stands and holds his guitar, and plays it, just mannerisms.
I will never forget this song!! I was 18 and my cousin Beppo was over from Estonia! He brought over these two fat chicks and we took turns banging them. THEN...he was hit my a meteroite!! I hotwired my dad's LAda and threw Beppo in the trunk to get him to the hospital! We made it just in time! The doctor said if we didnt pull that chunk of rock out of Beppo's ass he would have died! Poor Beppo. He still need a special toilette seat, but I love him anyway. He is my favorite cousin!
It's unfortunate that he hit the states just as this style was going out. By the time his next album hit this sound could NOT be found on any rock staion in the states. he is still putting out music today. Check it out!
Its because he doesn't tour here in the States, he only plays in Canada... If you want people to buy your record you have to promote it. Yes Colin James is one of the finest guitarists to come along in a while.I just wish I could go see his show! His Little Big Band CD's are awesome
I agree with y'all. Colin James Rocks! I first heard of him when Guitar Player magazine named him the greatest unknown guitarist in the world. Although he never really hit it big here in New Zealand, I bought this CD and Sudden Stop and they always got the party started. It's good after all these years being able to see the video (finally). Thanks You Tube.
Saw him last night. Too bad he never played this tune though. The guy can't stand still for 2 seconds though. He's all over the crowd & really gets into it with his band. Best show I've seen yet.
This song was also used in the movie Eddie and the Cruisers ll....Eddie Lives by John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band . I highly recommend both Eddie and the Cruisers movies. Eddie Wilson lives.
his blues stuff is awesome in its own right. Clapton, Allman, Haynes, Mayer, list could go on for Caucasians who are amazing when it comes to the blues.
The verses are pure genius, choruses run a little flat, but this kid could rock, too bad he had to go bluesy on us.Caucasions shouldnt do the blues......well maybe Stevie Ray came close to approval.
Never understood why Colin James wasn't bigger here in the States. I've been a fan since this song was brand new, and have turned alot of people on to his music. I'll be blasting a whole lotta his tunes from my rental house on the Jersey Shore in August.
How can this be the ONLY song you like when he has so many great songs. Why'd You Lie, Just Came Back, Voodoo Thing, there are so many they wouldn't fit here.
Awesome Awesome Awesome!!! I just LOVE this man's music! He HAS to b the MOST under-rated talent in North America! Blows 3/4's of the shit we hear everyday right out the window!!!!
Awesome guitarist one of the greatest....Great song!!

in your case, an idiotic white person.
I am referring to the fact that the poster thinks you need to be black in order to play the blues.
drosz22 2 years ago
Idiotic, No. Ignorant, Yes. I had no clue someone had associated musicianship with skin colour I just saw the question and answered it.

I'm sorry Colin James is a good guitarist but Jeff Healey is probably the greatest ever produced by Canada. That man had magic in his hands.
