I thought this movie was awesome, I was lucky enough to see it in a revival house theater in the late 90's. Going to have to track it down and watch it again. Thanks for reminding me about it Mike!
Great review as usual, MIke. I have not seen all of Cronenbergs films. I've seen Videodrome, The Fly, Scanners (years and years ago) but haven't seen his real early ones like Rabid, Shivers and The Brood. I heard that "The Brood" was messed up because he was going through a nasty divorce around that time.
@johnnyhorror92182 Yes he wrote and directed The Brood while he was going through a nasty divorce, and you can really tell. I think that actually adds some emotional heft to the story. I did not put that info in my review because I thought that it was his personal buisness, but I probably should have. Thanks for the comment!

Oddly, I've never watched the BROOD, but I'm familiar with it from its release date.
A Cronenberg film I'd highly recommend is DEAD RINGERS with Jeremy Irons and Genevieve Bujold. Creepy psychological drama.

good review. it's too bad cronenberg's gotten away from the horror genre.

@ronfrrll73 I completely agree! Even thought his non-horror films are still pretty good I do wish that Cronenberg would return to horror!

Not that into Cronenberg, but I may give it a shot. I did think the Fly remake was pretty good though. Awesome review!

I love the intensity of Cronenbergs films. Even The Dead Zone had it. At least with the drama factor, and a couple other things.

@RobRobertTheGameDude I agree that most of Cronenbergs films are very intense, and I love that too! Thanks for the comment!
