I've actually tried doing this and it works pretty well for me. But I've tried it in training. When me and my buddy spar and he circles me he tends to go toward my right (i'm south paw) so i hit him with a low kick . Opens up a chance to go forward.

Firstly, kicks don't "feel" for him as natural as punches, hence they don't automatically "fly out" during fights.
Secondly, he emphasized on the balance for movement and takedowns, hence tries to keep both feet ready to operate for that purpose, i.e. on the ground. Something about difficulty to move or keep balance with 1 leg in the air

I think boxing is also dangerous for the street, when I trained in boxing I could see there are a few glitches. dodge and u will get a knee, take off ur huge gloves and u will hit less and also break ur hands, Bj penn was saying Boxing is easy with these huge gloves u always hit and can protect. Bruce lee was not the perfect fighter but he was in my opinion designed to fight more in the street than in a cage : finger in the eyes, headbutts, speed, trapping, kicks with shoes etc...

Dana White considers him the father of MMA because hes one that always preached Cross training in all aspects of JKD=MMA. Read some of his books and you'll see that many of the techniques and philosophies on fighting that he preached are followed today and used with success even by guys like Fedor.
@drunkendragon182002 MMA is a nice sport, but many dont understand that, in the ring there are certain rules you follow to cease disqualification. If you look at most of lets say Shorin Ryu karate techniques.. they involve bone breaking, blinding the eyes, pressure points, rib breaking, etc. That first hook punch a fighter throws, any martial artists can counter it with a massive technique and ending it right there...but its most likely against the rules and might get you in jail hahaha.

You can't say that. Bruce Lee was never around martial arts when ground game was introduced into MMA. However in my opinion Bruce Lee would have been just as likely to knock out Fedor while standing as Fedor to Bruce; weight and reach would make no difference between these two.

hes trying to show the little rock he does as he switches that makes the kick quicker and more powerful. Its little thinhgs like that that make the difference between a noob and a champ. when he switches he lands on his back foot a split second before his front, this causes him to rock forward slightly, this sets him up for the kick.
I like the way Fedor throws the shin kick. If you read his book he talks about it. He kicks more up and into the guy rather than in a slicing motion. I've been working on it and I personally like it better than the traditional Thai kick.
yeah give it a try! You should check out his book if you haven't already. Technique wise, there isn't much in there that you wouldn't learn in a month of MMA instruction, but Fedor gives you his own slant on a lot of things like strategy and positioning which makes it worth a read or two, or twenty!
his kicks ar really strong, this comes from training alot in Holland. His manager has alot of connections in the dutch fight scene, Fedor was training with bonyaski and spong for the CroCop fight... alot of mma fighters have pretty weak kicks just because of lacking technique...

He answered that before on his official website (supposed to be him, or so they claim):
Firstly, kicks don't "feel" for him as natural as punches, hence they don't automatically "fly out" during fights.
Secondly, he emphasized on the balance for movement and takedowns, hence tries to keep both feet ready to operate for that purpose, i.e. on the ground. Something about difficulty to move or keep balance with 1 leg in the air

Bruce lee would lose to Fedor in any arena. but in the street you don t meet Fedor for a fight, you meet the average joe, a group of 3 average joes or sometimes a good joe. Being a good street fighter is to practice 3 to 5 techniques 10000 times to face these scenarios, u don t need all Fedor or Bruce knowledge.

He studyed judo,japanese jiu jitsu, boxing,muay thai,savate, wing chun and other forms of kung fu. The bruce lee fight scenes from movies were made to look exciting not real. If you just read allitle you will relise the guy knew alot more about fighting then most people think.

still, your actual eyewitness account of his talent is him acting out a scene in a movie. Bad guys always lose in movies. He wasn't the best martial artist in the world at the time, but he did have the best screen presence. There were actual world champions in every discipline that were not that famous, but were much better then him.

A 3time world champion boxer, in less than 15 seconds. A handful of legit martial artists. He wasnt one of those karate guys that backed down from fights for respect or whatever. He was somewhat hot headed and has fucked up plenty of guys that confronted him. But I do agree with the top rated comment.

I think boxing is also dangerous for the street, when I trained in boxing I could see there are a few glitches. dodge and u will get a knee, take off ur huge gloves and u will hit less and also break ur hands, Bj penn was saying Boxing is easy with these huge gloves u always hit and can protect. Bruce lee was not the perfect fighter but he was in my opinion designed to fight more in the street than in a cage : finger in the eyes, headbutts, speed, trapping, kicks with shoes etc...

ok, thats cool. in my eyes he WAS special as he was like a current day mma guy but from the 1950s - 70s. he trained like no one else of his time.
he is a big inspiration to a LOT of UFC fighters for his REAL fighting ability, not just his movies.
these are just a few UFC fighters ive heard talk good about bruce lee:
randy couture, tito ortiz, diego sanchez, rashaad evens, matt serra, bass rutten and jon jones. he would be an even better fighter if he were alive in todays world but in his prime.

Yes Bruce STUDIED mulitple mixed martial arts...but you tell me where he competed in a promotion that mixed all of those disciplines together like MMA has done. Dana White considers him the father of MMA because hes one that always preached Cross training in all aspects of JKD=MMA. Read some of his books and you'll see that many of the techniques and philosophies on fighting that he preached are followed today and used with success even by guys like Fedor.

@drunkendragon182002 MMA is a nice sport, but many dont understand that, in the ring there are certain rules you follow to cease disqualification. If you look at most of lets say Shorin Ryu karate techniques.. they involve bone breaking, blinding the eyes, pressure points, rib breaking, etc. That first hook punch a fighter throws, any martial artists can counter it with a massive technique and ending it right there...but its most likely against the rules and might get you in jail hahaha.

This video is actually clearly showing Fedor demonstrating to Vincent his own kicking style - it's not Fedor 'learning how to kick'.....! watch some of the Fedor instruction vids on here and you'll see him demonstrating exactly the same kick to a class of students.

hes trying to show the little rock he does as he switches that makes the kick quicker and more powerful. Its little thinhgs like that that make the difference between a noob and a champ. when he switches he lands on his back foot a split second before his front, this causes him to rock forward slightly, this sets him up for the kick.

I like the way Fedor throws the shin kick. If you read his book he talks about it. He kicks more up and into the guy rather than in a slicing motion. I've been working on it and I personally like it better than the traditional Thai kick.

Technique wise, there isn't much in there that you wouldn't learn in a month of MMA instruction, but Fedor gives you his own slant on a lot of things like strategy and positioning which makes it worth a read or two, or twenty!

his kicks ar really strong, this comes from training alot in Holland. His manager has alot of connections in the dutch fight scene, Fedor was training with bonyaski and spong for the CroCop fight... alot of mma fighters have pretty weak kicks just because of lacking technique...
