It seems strange that we are asking this question. Shouldn't all Nations be accountable for their actions. Why should the Israeli government and those that supported their action go unaccountable? Are all nations equal? or is Israel above the Law?

Of course Israel should be held accountable. What Israel has demonstrated in the summer of 2006 is its inability to assess any given situation with a rational, humane, and proportionate manner. Three Israeli soldiers were kidnapped by Hezbollah, and Israel deals with this situation by collectively punishing the entire Lebanese population, raising the death toll to nearly a thousand. I don't see how people can look back on this war and not hold Israel accountable!!

Israel should be accountable. cmon. they say that they wanted to defeat hezbollah. BUT, they have incursions into lebanon and start destroying beiruts infrastructure. they destroyed the airport, the power stations, they attacked water treatment plants, highways, telephone lines, and many more civilian structures. How can you say that Israel should not be accountable for a war that they decided to launch??

USS Liberty alone was worth 40 million, while Israel only paid 13 million. Not to mention the fact Israel receives 4 billion in aid each year. Reson enough to surmise the debts paid to Israel was America's own foreign aid.

Israel's government and military are responsible for every single action and reaction it takes. Accountability should not be laid at the feet of anyone else. However this is true of any nation, government, organization or individual - I'm sad that this simple logical view seems missing from so many people.
