  • @silverballer1911 delicious copypasta is delicious. Seriously... ED content?

  • why not just let people do what they want and be happy even if you don't agree with it

  • "i dont think it's a good movie" HAVE YOU SEEN TWILIGHT? AVATAR IS 1000x the movie than any of the twilight movies will ever be.

  • eh... let people do what they want, it's not hurting anyone.

  • One thing: Do you know why people feel that they can identify with Na'vi spirituality and phiosophy.

Everything that is made by humans, are a part of mankind. Even fiction. Because fiction is as far you could get to another human being. Fiction is which units people. Young or old, people who had died and people not yet born.

  • Otherkin is identification, not "we're more then human", no people!

Yes, man. I think: CAPITALISTS WOULD DRAIN PLANETS OF RESOURCES FOR THEIR PRODUCTS AND THE ONLY SAKE FOR THEIR OWN PROFIT.

    damn capitalists...

    (I'm an Anarcho-Communist)

  • @Orklord90 "I'm an Anarcho-Communist"

    ...Wow, good luck with that.

  • @HouseOfHeathens It is the elitistic, authoritarian "laws" and "norms" of Capitalism(especially Conservatism) which is the only responsible for the degeneration of humanism, mutual respect, tolerance and understanding. Those who judge this statement only for my ideological opinion and not seeing it as fully as a openly realistic statement which has going though a lot of re-thinking... Need to think twice of which words they will use next, for either confront or support the statement.

  • Doesn't the internet make you want to hurt yourself?

  • Those people digust me.

  • I could have gone the entire rest of my life without knowing people like that existed...

    Did you know about otakukin?

People who actually believe themselves to be the incarnation of ANIME characters... O.O

    I had to sit down...

  • I liked when you got into the mining companies. Its great.

  • Don't start crying or anything, love....

  • If you take the Story of Avatar, and replace the main characters with the ones from Pocahontas, you have exactly the same story.

  • @Soggy2002 +space, +flying animal thingies and you're basically correct!

  • FANBOY THIS SHIT! next review on =3 btw, i'm actually a Na'vi. im blue, tall, and my penis is in my hair. :)

    p.s. i live in a tree.

  • What annoys me is the number of people getting depressed about Pandora not being real. If these people watched documentaries like Planet Earth or Blue Planet they'd see that our world is infinitely more beautiful and REAL than some fictional CG environment.

Then they claim that Pandora is a symbol of how we're killing our planet. City-sized meteorites, supervolcanoes, megatsunamis, cataclysmic earthquakes and global ice ages couldn't kill nature. Human "destruction" is comparably insignificant.

  • LMAO!!!!! Man that is sad....

  • You have me rolling on the floor with laughter! The way you approach this " Na'vi" stuff is absolutly amazing! ( spelling fail )

I have a friend who is a "Wolf Theiran" but she knows that she does not have enhansed physical abilities ( sight, hearing, smell, ETC ) over other people. What are your thoughts about her?

  • @KingdomWolf2351 ...Ooo, I think I know what my next video is going to be on. Thanks!

  • @HouseOfHeathens

This should be intresting. She is going to kill me! XD

  • okay then that's really really wierd OO

  • So whats the difference between Na'vi community and a Klingon community?

  • @Silkfox The people of this specific community, as mentioned in the video, *truely believe* that in some way they are Na'vi.

  • Thought it was an okay movie. It really reminded me of "Ferngully".... It was visually stunning though. I think the whole "Na'vi Kin" thing is stupid. (in my opinion)

  • Rated, favorited, featured.

It's unfortunate that I'm not on LiveJournal, otherwise I'd gladly offer Tirea and her disturbed ilk an additional helping of what I gave her on the first otherkin forum she joined. It's hard to say whether this new thing is worse than those "Twilight" communities or not.

And as for the movie, basically everything that was said about the mining companies. I mean, we find a jungle that literally GLOWS and we want to just chop it down without studying it?

  • So there are realy people who think the are those giant smurfs from that shitty film?

  • I don't believe the "Na'Vi Otherkin" are actual Otherkin. It may seem hypocritical, but what they believe themselves to be is just stupid. As you said, Avatar is just a film. It's not a prediction of the future or a vision of another planet. It's a work of fiction designed to entertain the people who go to watch it.

The people who really take the idea of being "Na'Vi" to heart seem to be impressionable fools to me. Much like the people who claim to have commited crimes because of GTA.

  • @DarkDraconus Otherkin = People with identification with something that's none-human. Nothing more. You may believe, but in fact: your human. But most people doesn't understand the most fundamental with the life on Earth: All life is the same, we all is the same unit. We are one. All life, everything from trees, ants, birds, mammals.. We are all one. Human are equals with all life, as other lifeforms are equals with human.

  • Ack! Wishkin-na'vi people put real otherkin in a bad light!

  • If people are actually doing this, it's likely a coping mechanism for existential angst.

However, I checked out the livejournal group and I believe a number of them may just be trolling?

  • The Aztcs had their own language yet the Spainish conquered them for gold. So a mining company might do what they did, but they might try to set up an agreement first, or end in war like many wars are, for resources/power. I agree that people arn't na'vi. However aslong as people arn't harmed from it, they can pretend to be a smurf for all I care.

  • @LostFoxeh Oh, indeed, being a Libertarian I couldn't agree more. Just because I think people should be allowed to believe whatever they want doesn't mean I can't question the morality/logic of such beliefs.

  • That was hundreds of years ago when slavery was considered by the average person (of most if not all races) to be morally acceptable. If society has changed its views on slavery then why do you think that it will still consider genocide palatable?

  • America was teh only place people were slaved because of their skin color because some (i forgot what country, i think it was french) slave traders sold them some slaves and they didn't know what to do with them cause tehy looked different, thus black=slave idea was born. So why not humans meeting another new race and not knowing anything and reacting like the past dictates. Also ww2 did the genocide thing pretty well not that long ago...Yeah I can believe it. oh and Isral vs pakstan I think

  • Ha ha ha ha!

    a new Okatu group.

  • 5:25 You don't know much about the history of mining companies.

  • @SaganAppreciationSoc The question isn't just the history, but also the present. The question is, have mines become more or less responsible, or have they remained, over all, the same. Over all, they have become *more* responsible over time.

  • @HouseOfHeathens

If you believe corporate claims in the US and ignore what's going on outside of N. America and Europe where mining companies are going nuts.

  • @SaganAppreciationSoc And, just out of pure curiousity, where did you get *your* sources? And no, I wouldn't buy what the corporation itself tells me; I would look for a third party.

  • I agree that this is stupid. Also your critique - but I will say something. Yes - the plot was predictable and played on emotions that cinematography has done since forever. But the plot of the original star wars, indiana jones, back to the future, and a whole host of epic films from the 70s and 80s were infact just as predictable. It might be cliched, but that doesn't mean it was a bad script. Just my opinion.

But yeah some people are: Too. Fucking. Serious.

  • Come on guys this is just like a new religion give them a break. If people can beleave in and invisible all powerful thing that made every one in seven days why can't these people beleave in a race of blue people that could exist on a planet some where in this MASSIVE universe. As there are 400 billion stars in this galaxy and another 150 billion galaxy atlease they could exist somewhere??!?!?

  • @idunnodavy Well, if the Na'vi did exist, it would be by pure, astounding coincidence and that's all. Really, the chances of another species out there being both humanoid and with enough genetic similarity to make human-alien hybrids is so small you might as well say it is completely implausible. But yeah, believe whatever you want. But no one should feel oppressed just because I comment on those beliefs.

  • @HouseOfHeathens I agree in that finding something similar or exact to the Na'vi is IMPOSSIBLE. But arr you truly so ignorant and arrogant to think this is the only planet, this speck of dust is the only place where intelligent human-like lifeforms exist? Wow, you must have a very small, narrow mind. =/

  • @KanishtaaNaijuuk Nope, I don't think that in any way. I think that, given the number of stars and galaxies out there, there's almost a certainty to be other lifeforms out there. In fact, if you watch my video, I bring up the possibility of finding intellegent life and how we would more realistically react.

  • @HouseOfHeathens Ah, okay, my fault there. My apologies. :)

  • @idunnodavy the reason why it's just wrong because for 1 thing the whole Na'vi/Avatar thing is something that a guy made up and made into a movie. They could exist somewhere but in my oppinion people who say they are Na'vi kin are just riding a horse backwards to get attention and using thismovie and the whole Na'vi thing to do so.

  • Hi I'm Lumeui, a member of that comm and a Na'kin. I am disheartened that you are judging us based on one paragraph. Please, read around the comm before drawing too many conclusions. The Na'kin are a nice bunch; we're trying to learn about each other and our past lives as Na'vi or similar alienkin. Unfortunately it's people making snap judgements like yourself that are giving us a lot of grief. At least you are taking us seriously, that's good, but I urge you to get to know us first. Eywa ngahu

  • @Lumeui Well, I will have you know that I indeed read through *several* of the posts on your comm. Most posts are indeed rather benign, and you do have more than a few trolls, but that doesn't, in any way, detract from the points I made in this video. Now, if you would actually like to discuss *those*, great, I'll be right here.

  • @HouseOfHeathens Okay, that's nice to know. You're right, before this happened we had no idea what the Na'vi as a concept were. However, that doesn't detract from that fact that I've known I was otherkin for a long time. Only after seeing Avatar have I realised that I could be alienkin similar to Na'vi. That also doesn't mean I don't embrace my current humanity, however. I love the planet and the richness we have here. As a side note, I agree that Cameron shouldn't be allowed to write dialogue.

  • @Lumeui i dont mind na'vi kin. my reaction is..ay-ye-eh-neh. its possible. i mean who's to say that earth is the only planet with intellegent life.

    Wolf Therian-EDB

  • The Na'vi aren't real? Yea right, next you will tell me that Vulcans don't exist....

But really, Avatar sucked as a movie. It felt like Dances With Wolves had sex with Pocahontas in space.

  • @hanzo138 Don't forget Ferngully.

  • ha ha ha ha ha ha, I think you may have taken what they where saying a bit too seriously!

  • Is it the... the hair thing strangling your neck that makes you pant furiously, or is that just you?

  • @LighthouseGuard That would be the cords from the medallion I'm wearing.

  • Dude, I think you may have mistaken this for some personal attack on yourself. I don't see anyone giving you the right to judge others for what they choose to believe, but hey, I guess that's what America is good at. Anyway, listen to yourself at about 6:57. Delicious irony!

  • @TheInterestingPoint Well, I don't take this as a personal attack. If you look at my channel you'll see that I talk about science, skepticism and claims of the supernatual. That's what I do here, that's what this channel is for. That and for whatever random topic comes to mind. *This* topic is not only about something supernatural, but about movies, which is something I'm also really into. Yeah, believe whatever you want, but that doesn't mean that people like me aren't allowed to talk about it.

  • BTW, what's that around your neck?

  • @FlowCell Just a medallion I really dig.

  • Otherkin are to furries what furries are to normal people.

"I was born a smurff on the inside, but thanks to this movie, now have an excuse to weird people out and make them feel uncomfortable by presenting my pseudo-lycanthropy as a normal state of mind." I'd love to get a good psychiatrist to explain to me what Otherkin are all about and how they can actually swear that they perceive superfluous appendages that humans don't normally posses (such as a tail).
