doesnt matter if they get through, or dont get through, ACTA SOPA, any of them. It is nothing but an enabling rule, for plans that these lobbyists and governments have. if theres one thing ive learnt since the turn of 2011, its that governments lie to gain power then do as they please. Evidence? After the blackout protests, the day after it became apparent that SOPA would not get through, the megaupload arrests. they were waiting for SOPA to run that plan, already set up. as they will others.
I am a warrior of free information. I am a warrior of the new age, of peace, tranquility. The NWO will be thrust down and speared upon by our epicness and cheeseburgers. We shall have more than lulz. others that informed him of better types of government. Then he led the inevatable revolution. Now if Congress is put in charge of what stays and what goes in regards to information, what are the chances that they will keep Wikipedia? Google? Etc.
In Soviet Russia. . . well not Russia, but China in the early 20th century, the heads of the communist goverment censored all types of information from books to news. This caused the lower followers to be more obedient because they did not know of revolutions in history that took place hence having no inspiration to do so. But! They control the news, the entertainment, the ads.
When you go onto the internet, you circumvent their plans to control you, you can go where you want, say what you want, and install programs to block ads.
All of these new bills are fucking horseshit. Why oh why do we let these assholes in congress get away with this. SOPA, PIPA, ACTA (You know these), and the NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act, which is a very serious bill, by the way) should all be torched, and tossed aside, never to be considered again. It's a shame that the NDAA passed already...
this is true and this law can go fuck itself coz so many indie artists , programers , and those who make music (didn't come up with anything) will have to stop doing there original work just cause some stupid old grampa hipster licks ass to much to realise that it will only hurt the world as we know it!
And here we have the crux of the issue. SOPA, PIPA, and ACTA are not about piracy. Piracy is just what the media corporations are using to get it into the door. What they're really after is content producers that aren't under their thumb. Back in the "good old days" before the internet, in order to have a hit TV show, you only had to be better than the other two shows on at the same time, and everybody was purely a consumer. These days, the consumers are also producers. They want that to stop.
I wish we were Chozo and not Human. Humanity honestly sucks currently- we could learn from them... I also hope that this idiocy is just a "era of the dumbasses" that will hopefully pass once we actually learn that no, bullets do not make good diplomats, and creativity will not blow up the world. That said, things like SOPA will NEVER die for the entirety of the Era of the Dumbasses, because well, America has tried this shit just SOO much. It didn't pass yesterday, it won't pass tomorrow.
This reminds me of your "Human Race in a Nutshell" video. SOPA PIPA and other Bills to stop online piracy will not work. All those bills are going to do is screw everybody over (like the massive explosion in your vid).. its like trying to kill a fly by chasing it with a flamethrower. there is no way to stop the pirates without destroying everything else and even if the fly is killed there are tons more. I say leave the pirates alone. they make up a small % of users on the internet.
ACTA is a more serious bill, being it an international treaty. Also, the fact that it was developed in full secrecy can only lead to one conclusion: Anonymous were right.
All of this shit must be related to the wikileaks story, i'm sure of it.
"and not even wasting their brain cells to DUUHR-UURRP forth such a dumb thing as stopping online Piracy"
God that was funny. Also, not to be a dick or anything, but how much time have you spent learning english? Your doing alright at it, but there are a few little things that you could tweak. Not trying to be obnoxious or anything.
@Dutvutan why is Tungsten your favorite element? (yeah I'm missing the point of the video but whatever.) Sorry my country's leaders are full of shit. We need a technocracy imo.
Ok people come on? Did anyone even bother researching into SOPA? SOPA is designed to deal with foreign websites, we already have laws to take down things here. SOPA can only effect domains not registered in the USA (all .coms and .orgs are registered in the USA), so sites like YouTube won't get effected
The "Protecting Children from Internet Pornographers Act" (note how they pull the "THINK OF THE CHILDREN" card) is another excellent bill next to SOPA and PIPA.

@TehTechnoMiser 99% of America wasn't happy about it either. Greedy companies exist everywhere, but don't blame us for an oblivious government that got influenced by the people with the money (big companies who just want more money), instead of paying attention to the actual citizens until the internet itself retaliated. I didn't want this, neither did you, and neither did almost everyone except those who would 'profit' from it...not much we could do, but we did it anyway, ftw.
i knew you was going to do something lik this ^.^ you know cus like a yle ago you was mad at youtube for shuting you down for some copy right crap or something still love you :D . well not love but i like your videos
The sad fact is that all they were hoping to pas SOPA and PIPA for is to justify and expedite shutting down and jailing people without rampant media backlash.
@seanlolol2 I don't think you understand. It's not only shutting down sites with the content it's shutting down sites with LINKS. These could be completely innocent websites, but they'll be shut down due to infringing content on other websites. The internet will slowly... Cripple...
@seanlolol2 Also, the Government can send a tipper onto any website to plant copyrighted stuff, just to bring it down. It's fascism all over again. And also, Jimmy Wales (wikipedia founder) is against this bill. That must mean he stole tons of hard work according to your hypothesis.
I'm happy for all of the people who don't have to deal with SOPA now that it's been shot down. But as for myself, apparently there are some gigantic idiots in the congress of my own country as well, seeing as it is getting it's own form of it, known as Bill C-11. As well, I've heard many people say that, given the recent decisions by the leader of the country that I'm in, it seems far more likely to get passed. And I thought that the leaders of my own country were smarter than this. I guess not.
@ViperMach5 Oh god,don't,I-I-I.....DON'T LIE TO ME,I CAN'T HANDLE THE LIES ABOUT SOPA'S AND PIPA'S DOWNFALL,IS THAT FOR REAL? REALLY? ARE YOU SURE? ARE YOU POSITVE?!!
@ViperMach5 SOPA, PIPA and ACTA is still not being given up by these old-ass grampa-hipsters.
Anyway, am I one to come up with conspiracies now? I don't care, the american government must change anyway, even though I live in Sweden, I still can get my ass busted due to their hideous legislations. When a file sharing site is being taken down, they will look through all the user information and track down those who either downloaded or uploaded something. Check out the video I favorited.
@Dutvutan I have watched that Jeepers video, and clearly, I can be one of those arrested as and thrown in jail just because I downloaded a soundtrack of a game from 1998 and used Megaupload for two other reasons (forgot why, it's been years).
I even got my grandmother into this subject, and not only does she say that this is something a Communist would propose, and absolutely screw over the entire world if these bills were to pass. (Continuing with another comment due to Youtube's limit)
@Dutvutan My grandmother believes that the old farts and dipshits like Lamar Smith should be ignored and shot down when it comes to proposing bills that would affect today's internet and/or technology altogether. Everyone everywhere is moving forward in the world, especially with access to the internet, and grandma says that the younger and more tech-based people or politicians should be the ones to truly listen to rather than old, crusted fucks who bathe in our money rather than fixing roads.
@Dutvutan Our fucking crumbling government rather focuses on debating on whether or not pizza should be considered a vegetable rather than finding ways of fixing our economy. They only listen if a handed check has seven zeroes on it and a poorly planned, piece of shit proposal turns into a bill to be debated over.
At this point, I don't care if Civil War happens right now in the U.S. Our government is responsible for this and are bluntly dooming this country and the rest of the world with it.
@Dutvutan You're a conspiracy theorist in the eyes of the majority. Or at least "Fear mongering". People only hear what they want to hear. They all seem to think that now SOPA/PIPA has been pulled that's reason to celebrate - no.
Who do they think created these bills? They will only do it again, they'll learn from their mistakes - they'll be more discreet, they'll likely pass it under a new name, a new disguise, and bribe any media to ensure it doesn't get attention.
@Dutvutan This bill isn't anything about stopping piracy. It's simply a way of censoring the net while hiding it up with a "good excuse" like "stopping piracy" They simply don't want people to have free will or free speech to communicate. Since if 3 people sat down who are at least mildly intellectual and started talking about the government. Then they could easily deduce how little the government is doing and how much money their stealing from them. They don't want people talking about them.
SOPA and PIPA are withdrawn and bagged. In English "back to the drawing board", so of course they're not gone forever. Now we have to be aware of the shit that Lamar Smith is pulling out of places I do not want to know about (H.R. 1981, even though it was an old proposal that went ignored for a while) and our government proposing ACTA, which can fuck the entire world over and albeit likely be a WORSE result than what we thought of SOPA and PIPA combined.
@Jontsen12 it's not like that from what i heard. SOPA will block sites, videos and all that stuff in the internet that violates copyright. So if you make things that don't violate copyright like Ben's music you won't get in trouble
Black March, Thursday, March 1st 2012 to Saturday 31st March 2012.
Do not buy a single record. Do not download a single song, legally or illegally. Do not go to see a single film in cinemas, or download a copy. Do not buy a DVD in the stores. Do not buy a video game. Do not buy a single book or magazine. An economic hit which will in turn be observed by governments worldwide as stocks and shares will blip from a large enough loss in incomes. Paste to 5 other videos, vote up. From: 4chan
sooner or later this nation will fall into pure chaos if this shit keeps up in all honesty this nation is starting to suck and i'm an artist my self i post my stuff on facebook this is crap i would find it funny if the fucktards get assassinated
@Dutvutan Hey there, syrsa . . . you know when I found your video's and music around 3 years ago I've always wanted to meet you on skype, or at least some form of chat. If sopa/pipa get's past I fear I'll NEVER get the opportunity to meet such a refined artist such as yourself ever again! Is there any way I could convince you to let me send you a request on whichever chat you would like to use syrsa?
Overall, I do agree for not allowing this bill to pass. I've been getting myself used to different mods and techniques in gmod and started downloading different softwares in hopes to make gmod videos. But I can kiss that dream goodbye if these bills pass.
all the websites that will be the most affected had a black out yesterday, including google, and it may have ended sopa and pipa, also pipa and sopa are braking the fair use part of the copyright act, sopa is really a an act that is going against an act, and the us national anthem is copy righted material, but fair use protected it.
I'm not american, which is brilliant as my country's government isn't getting screamed at by the internet and simply ignoring it :D Say for example the war against terrorisim. It's a very touchy subject that America could have avoided losing so many lifes over if they simply just listened. (Plus they dragged britain in thanks to Tony Blair) America tends to have a habit of not listening. I guess the world will have to make them listen :(
@Ellimation360 if only we had listen to George Washington, we wouldn't have been in iraq. America (were i'm from) is stubborn. stupid old fucks in congress
The gov decide to Censor the net. The people who created piracy sites for things like turrents and such are responsible for SOPA. WTF is happening to this world? Cenors? Extreme copyright laws? Its goodbye youtube, goodbye facebook, goodbye twitter, goodbye fanart, fanfics, parodies, memes, and all the good stuff that makes up the net. the people of SOPA and net Censorship can burn! D:<
well, I can't afford to pay for music and games and movies...so I can pirate them and appreciate them for what they are and sometimes I actually buy an original piece to express my gratitude towards the creator, because they truly earned it.
I have a feeling that if sopa gets passed on the computer will become an overpriced typweriter again.
Doesn't Congress have anything better to do? Like renewable power sources, fixing the economy, the Space Program, or really anything else?! This is one of the stupidest things I've ever seen.
Thing is, the people who created SOPA & PIPA knew what they were doing. You know why? Most of the major sites that encourage users from time to time to pirate stuff like Bittorrent, CNET, and others like them are owned BY the people who started this whole thing. Long story short: it's an elaborate escape plan that they profit from, placing the blame on the people who used it after being told it was ok. Talk about greedy ._.
If you actually listen to some of people in Congress that support the bill they have no idea what they are doing. Frankly they are lazy and stupid while just doing the bidding of the corporate giants who want more money. I'm glad people are protesting how little this bill would accomplish and how much damage it would do.
Fukin morons, films and shit will allways be pirated, the people who make the films make more than enough fukin income, otherwise, HOW THE FUCK can they afford to pay actors millions to play one damn part. The solution to this shit is not to take down half the internet, in fact, there isn't one that would stop it for good so they should stop shitting themselves over piracy and look at some solvable problems.... stupid SOPA, good work Dutvutan, I approve of your message ^_^
Hey, another SOPA video. I seriously don't want SOPA or PIPA to pass, because I do think it's STUPID AS ****, but I am getting a little tired of seeing SO MANY protests against it. It's a good thing, I just don't like seeing them. Although this one made me laugh.
As an American, I appreciate how other countries are willing to support us against SOPA and PIPA, and that other countries agree that our politicians are fucking stupid.
Agree with anything against SOPA, but really what was the point about scientists? I think it was a little contrived and possibly a little bit pretentious. The argument is a lot simpler to phrase. No offence, love the videos.
@Dutvutan A lot more people than scientists help progression, I just felt it was a useless analogy. I'm not really looking for an argument, it was just a small criticism.
@Drunkenmo All I'm just saying is that smart people at work are better than dumb people at work because that's what scientists are in my personal view. So don't pull out the word criticism when dissing my personal point as a useless analogy... I may go apeshit on your ass.
@Dutvutan I'm sorry if you can't take criticism without retorting with ad hominen. Knowledge isn't synonymous with wisdom, as you use scientist as an example of someone of higher intelligence. Higher IQ does not affect moral judgement, which is decidedly important when writing up a bill like this.
The bills are dead in the water now, but I was simply making my point. Tata.
@Ellimation360 It wouldn't matter, what's happening with SOPA and PIPA, will be that they will see ONE malicious site to piracy or copyrighted content, THEN BOOM. The site goes down on Youtube's responsibility.
IMO: It's the most dumb plan I have ever seen and heard from the congress...
@Everyone who thinks they're free from SOPA because they aren't in the US
It gets better. SOPA gives them the power to shut down offshore websites, for even one link violating it and, if you read the wording, pretty much any fucking reason they want.
no seriously,i don't think you could be affected by SOPA...i mean 99% of your work is 100% original..how could you be? if you still can be affected, then we're not in free world anymore...
If this bill passes, then that would make us one step closer to 1984 (read the book "1984" and you'll see what I mean). You see, according to the first amendment, this bill should not be made possible, as it impedes with both freedom of speech and freedom of the press. They would have to get inside our heads to convince us otherwise.
@jolt583 Agreed, mate. I am left with the same problem. Americans should be smarter than they are now. Especially for the people who run the Government. And I sort of dread the fact that this Government could fall later on in this century or the next.
@TheMegaOverlord14 To continue with what I said. They should atleast realize that this will not stop Piracy, but actually increase the rate of Piracy, because when everything is getting blocked, people would have to figure out a way to get through these blocked sites, steal the stuff, and let other people download it from a secret service on the internet. I am sure some people would even pirate the stuff that was blocked by SOPA, when it was once purchasable, or free.
@TheMegaOverlord14 I love free stuff, and I find piracy a good way to get it, but I don't endorse piracy when it comes to actually buying the service or good from someone who stole someone elses product. Take Switzerland for example, they declared pirating legal, as long as it is for personal use. They atleast have more brains than the Old Dumb F*cks at congress to realize pirating for personal use is not illegal.
I know this has nothing to do with your point, but I'm just curious to know why tungsten is your favorite element.

ViperMach5 1 month ago
@Dutvutan My grandmother believes that the old farts and dipshits like Lamar Smith should be ignored and shot down when it comes to proposing bills that would affect today's internet and/or technology altogether. Everyone everywhere is moving forward in the world, especially with access to the internet, and grandma says that the younger and more tech-based people or politicians should be the ones to truly listen to rather than old, crusted fucks who bathe in our money rather than fixing roads.
ViperMach5 1 month ago

@ViperMach5 Yes...But you have to be retarded to believe it's gone forever.

@sickdude197
ViperMach5 1 month ago
@Jontsen12 it's not like that from what i heard. SOPA will block sites, videos and all that stuff in the internet that violates copyright. So if you make things that don't violate copyright like Ben's music you won't get in trouble

Yeah, it's a publicity stunt! Open your eyes, Smith! Read what people are saying! Your bill won't work; it'll only shut down the internet!
Luckily, though, 18 congressmen changed their position because of the blackout yesterday. But that's not enough!

Dutvutan 1 month ago
@Dutvutan A lot more people than scientists help progression, I just felt it was a useless analogy. I'm not really looking for an argument, it was just a small criticism.
Drunkenmo 1 month ago
@Drunkenmo All I'm just saying is that smart people at work are better than dumb people at work because that's what scientists are in my personal view. So don't pull out the word criticism when dissing my personal point as a useless analogy... I may go apeshit on your ass.
Dutvutan 1 month ago
@Dutvutan I'm sorry if you can't take criticism without retorting with ad hominen. Knowledge isn't synonymous with wisdom, as you use scientist as an example of someone of higher intelligence. Higher IQ does not affect moral judgement, which is decidedly important when writing up a bill like this.
The bills are dead in the water now, but I was simply making my point. Tata.

If this bill passes, then that would make us one step closer to 1984 (read the book "1984" and you'll see what I mean). You see, according to the first amendment, this bill should not be made possible, as it impedes with both freedom of speech and freedom of the press. @jolt583 Agreed, mate. I am left with the same problem. Americans should be smarter than they are now. Especially for the people who run the Government. And I sort of dread the fact that this Government could fall later on in this century or the next.
TheMegaOverlord14 1 month ago
@TheMegaOverlord14 To continue with what I said. They should atleast realize that this will not stop Piracy, but actually increase the rate of Piracy, because when everything is getting blocked, people would have to figure out a way to get through these blocked sites, steal the stuff, and let other people download it from a secret service on the internet. I am sure some people would even pirate the stuff that was blocked by SOPA, when it was once purchasable, or free.
TheMegaOverlord14 1 month ago
@TheMegaOverlord14 I love free stuff, and I find piracy a good way to get it, but I don't endorse piracy when it comes to actually buying the service or good from someone who stole someone elses product. Take Switzerland for example, they declared pirating legal, as long as it is for personal use. They atleast have more brains than the Old Dumb F*cks at congress to realize pirating for personal use is not illegal.
