"I want a touch-phone like the iPhone, but something prevents me from getting an iPhone (availability, price, bluetooth, usb, itunes etc)" So the reasoning for what they need goes like this: It has a glass touch screen, so I can do touching. It has many apps, so I can do downloading and having apps. It is available on my carrier and it's cheaper than iPhone. Et voila, nothing left from 2009 to 2011 besides Androids.

But Android is not numbers on a paper. The constant evolution and the fact that in only less than two years over 1000 phones, tablets, and x86 computers have Android not only shows that Google shut Ballmer's mouth, but it also shows the advantages of an UNIX/Linux platform. Open Source wins.

Microsoft is so well established in the PC market that it fails to realise how volatile the trend in mobile industry is. Look at Nokia, it is scrambling all its resources to keep the Symbian OS, which it have entrusted its future in, going against others. And Nokia is the largest producer of smartphone. MS's got nothing to compete right now...

ignorant f..k is right. I recently went to tech ed in Australia. they talked about their new win 7 phone. They have ripped off so many ideas from android its absurd. However they were pretty quite about memory management on the phone. Pity they didn't rip off ALL of Androids good ideas eh. said it before and ill say it again Microsoft imitate others innovate

@Jack5964 thats the most accurate description about microsoft, there always taking ideas from everyone else and make claims they dicoverd the tech them selfs (were microsoft around with the apple 2 came out in 1982 as almost all of microsofts ideas are just copies of mac software) and microsofts latest venture into motion gaming is yet more proof microsoft does like you say imitate not innovate.

iPhone's future is not looking good, it is a good phone but with Android phones out there and now Windows 7, Apple will lose the battle. Windows 7 + Xbox LIVE will make a lot of people happy, IF W7 doesn't crash every minute.

@rakibTV they actually have a 14% marketshare currently, and sitl lsell hundreds of millions. some show that android still gets outsold by windows mobile, an archaic OS. thats just pathetic.
and Ballmer is better than you, hes a multi-billion, and made 7 different divisions within Microsoft to have over $1 billion in revenue. he knows how to run a business, you know how to be a commenter on a video and be an idiot at the same time.

They're putting Windows 7 on a phone. Windows 7 is my favorite OS so far and I can't wait to see how that does as a smartphone version.

so does symbian for that matter... then again, nokia has maemo, which is yet another linux-based OS lol!!

@RVoutreach AT&T coverage is excellent for me. It depends on which market you are in. I'm fortunate to be in the Atlanta area where the coverage in strong. I'm assuming that you are in a market that's not too friendly on the AT&T 3G coverage.

To be fair, this video was taken nearly a year before the first Android phone was even approved by the FCC in the US, and slightly more before T-Mobile released the G1. So he was correct at the time, though the words certainly don't ring true now...
