The tax would be used almost exclusively for education, if not fully. I am working on the details of how it would be distributed/spent for education, but will hopefully have most of the issues worked out by March.

Dylan, I am familiar with the concept of the transaction tax, but i was under the impression that the mayor of the city was not allowed to pass any new taxes. How do you plan to accomplish this goal?

I plan on accomplishing this by working with various state legislatures; the bill that I would like to see get passed would allow each municipality the option of accepting or declining the tax. I am surprised you have heard of it, as I thought it an original idea. Those I have talked to about this have so far not have any idea what it is, and I have already mentioned it to several representatives, other officials, and many other people.
