Much as I love Gin and Kate. The only problem I have is the way she holds the dog after the performance. Can't imagine that being held that way can be at all comfortable. It certainly doesn't look like it. I'd have to tell her to let the dog stand down.

This dog is extremely talented and she and her owner have obviously worked hard, HOWEVER, to say that she is the most talented dog on the planet is an overstatement. There are many trainers and dogs that participate in dog dancing and the moves that Gin did have been done by many other dogs all over the world in similarly and even sometimes more impressive routines.

As bright as Gin is, Kate is the genius here; those dogs were bred to be smart and especially attentive to people, but it still takes a tremendous talent and affinity for animals to get even a sheep dog like Gin to do dance routines. Kate is utterly charming and utterly brilliant.

Border Collies are very bright, but challenging. In an earlier interview, Kate stated that Gin was a very difficult puppy and needed a lot of attention. Maybe that was the beginning of their intense bond.

Kate and Gin, have now become "Kate, Gin and Ice with a Twist". Ice is a 17 month old border collie, and if you think Gin is talented you need to see Ice perform she is sensational. Twist is a 5month old very cute Jack a Poo (Jack Russell x minature Poodle) who is learning the ropes. Look out for them at Cruft's

erm not actually, love ISN't the MOST important thing when it comes to owning adog. Love is very important but it not the most important. Exercise, good leadership (rules, bounderies and limitations) and a structured routine are what is most important. one you have fufilled all of those, then you give love. I'm a dog behaviorist and almost ALL of my clients dogs have problems because theirowner think that love is the most important thing.

I understand what you mean. rules, bounderies and limitations are the rules. Her dog is a good and smart dog but it had alot of rules as a puppy and more as a 1 year old. She is 6 yr this did not come over night. Alot of work. Good Border Collie!!!!!

I agree. The judges keep saying the dog is amazing like it was just born that way and should be performing by herself. Obviously the girl Kate has put an extraordinary amount of work and love into training her dog, and she should be complemented just as much. I'm sure very few people could do with Gin what she has.

Dog dancing, in general, is amazing! I don't know how the owners do it. There is another amazing dog on youtube, his name is Rookie. He dances to Greece, and is fabulous. There is another really good Charley Chaplain act that I saw, and a Gladiator act with a dog. This particular dog will do just about anything it's told, just brilliant.
