I won't go into a business that accepts secular money, but doesn't have secular store hours. If I have to go somewhere else on Sun., I can go somewhere else Mon.- Sat. too.
Chick Filla is following the old covenant style of sabbath, but not the new covenant sabbath. The old covenant sabbath was a day of the week, the new covenant sabbath is not a day of the week, but everyday. The New covenant sabbath is rest in Jesus: not a day(Hebrews 4) The law is fulfilled in Christ and is no longer obligatory for the church.(Gal 3:24-25)
I'm with paseogrammy. I only had to work there for a couple months to realize that the management is comprised of a bunch of assholes who treat you with incredible disrespect and then take you completely off the schedule without ever offering a clear explanation nor apologizing for anything. Right, I'm a student so why would I deserve an explanation? Plus most of the people that work there are complete losers or self-righteous douchebags.
It's rather ironic that even Family Christian Stores are open on Sunday now. I worked at CFA for 2 years before college. Never worked on a Sunday and got a $1,000 scholarship from them.
You mentioned the day of rest is on the seventh day but isnt the seventh day of the week Saturday just to let you know that I am a Seventh Day Adventist. :)
worked or went to a meeting? Or was it a special event? I've worked at Chick-fil-a for almost 4 years and have never been forced to "work" on sundays. In fact the only time we go in on a Sunday is a store meeting. I love Chick-fil-a's morals and beliefs regarding out Lord. Thank the Lord for Chick fil a, lol
I am old enough to remember when nothing was open on Sunday. (Maybe a 7-11 type store if that). But thats when everyone went to chruch, and went home for Sunday dinner too. Times have changed, but the I am glad that there is a place that puts people before profits, and treated them with some respect. And in the food service field, thats kind fo rare.
We're not hypocrites, and we're not forced to attend employee meetings on Sundays. Yes, we do have get togethers, but that's not part of our business. We glorify God together because we want to, not because we're looking to make money.
just cause that's their mission statement, doesn't mean they follow it. we are forced to attend employee meetings on sundays. chickfila is a company of hypocrites.
meetings aren't mandatory but you do get paid to attend them. We have a few employees who will not attend any meetings because it goes against what their parents want.
we respect that.
CFA is not a company of hypocrites but some people that work there certainly could be.
We are NEVER open on Sundays... Sundays are great because everyone can go out together if they so desire.
When I was still working for CFA my boss Paul Joubert said that if we did not attend the sunday meetings we would be taken off the schedule The closed on sundays thing is a marketing scam to get the church going crowd to eat at CFA and think it's this great place when it's really not Plus every CFA I've been in always is staffed by illegal aliens surprising that a "moral" company like CFA disobeys federal law and hires illegals
I am sorry that you had such an unfortunate experience with your store. We don't operate like that.
As for the illegal aliens thing, all of our employees are required to have a social security card and valid identification. It isn't the companies fault if they are being lied to by the people they hire.
Chick Fil A doesn't seek to hire illegals. It may happen but they wouldn't do it intentionally.
If you actually send off their I2 form and tax forms like you are required to BY FEDERAL LAW, their fake social security numbers will come back negative and then you FIRE THEM. CFA conveniently neglects to do this.
actually as I have learned, illegal aliens tend to use actual social security numbers from their relatives so I don't think your method would prove much.
but I am not an expert and it sounds like you did more research on it than I.
You're right! almost everyone goes out for lunch or brunch after church! At least that's how it is in my town. Just TRY to get a set at any resturaunt between 11am and 1230pm in Katy TX.. HAHA

We're looking for good people... meaning people that adhere to their narrowly defined modern rendition of Christianity.

We have a meeting on sunday once a year for like a couple hours...that's not hypocritical at all. Would you rather go in on saturday after close?

Nice video; in reality, something like 15%-20% of your sales are on Sunday...not " one seventh."
cllewis1 5 years ago
I absolutely disagree... just the people coming home from churches alone pack out the restaurants.
Sundays are a HUGE loss but totally worth it in the big picture.
