Paula unfortunate transcended generations, and has gone through times where comedy has taken a turn. People used to laugh at situational irony and stories and now they laugh at farts and people getting shot, so she's looked down upon often. She's a great comic.

i got this video in a pop tarts box when i was 8. I didn't know what stand up was back then, so i looked at the casette box and saw a goofy looking woman wearing the most nineties-est tie ever, and i never watched it until i was about 16 years old bored sitting in my room and was like "hey ive never watched this, and now i know what stand up actually is"

Paula ended up getting a plea deal in which she was charged with DUI and endangering a child and social services revoked her right to adopt other children and removed 2 foster kids that had been in her charge.

Re: the maxim list, no accounting for tastes. I think Paula's funny even though I would've assumed she was too cutesy, the sexless lady in a tie who talks about cats all the time - but actually she's great at really screwing with her audience. I also like Cho in small doses, other than that I pretty much agree with that list. But that's just me...all you could say "objectively" is that they all have their shtick and an audience who likes it for whatever reason.

I actually HAVE the VHS of this. I'll have to look for it on DVD, since it would prolly be faster than trying to figure out which box its packed away in, and then hoping to the ancient gods that the VHS side of the DVD/VHS combo player actually works... There were a pile of other comedians; i remember Marty Putz, a poor-mans Carrot Top. He was even a redhead. Paula hosted it, and it was given away free with Pop-Tarts boxtops. Really...
