Hi! Have you heard the talk about - fast abs magic (do a google search)? Ive heard some amazing things about it and my friend got beautiful 6 pack abs and lost a ton of weight with it.
how do you measure the amount of carbs you need for a light jog or an interval sprint routine ?
depending on height, weight, age and time of the day, cos i know that the metabolism is higher during the morning than nights, so it'll consume extra calories.
and how much carbs are enough for recovery ? cos i'm not quite sure about using carbs or good fats for recovery, i've been told that your body consumes fat not carbs while you are not doing exercises...
I also want to add, you have to increase your time gradually, or intensity. As you lose weight you will weigh less and burn less calories in your run, so you can easily hit a plateau
if i run enough to make lose weight every morning, then at night im so hungry that i eat enough to gain twice as much that i ran enough to lose. if i run enough at night, then im so hungry when i wake up i eat enough to gain twice as much as i ran to lose. so then i have to run even more, then eat more, then run more, GAH
@deadlycheezcake Try taking acai berry supplements 15-30 minutes before you run. For me, at least, they curb hunger after and increase energy during the run.
8k run everyday mon-fri thats how i run no easy way to lose weight eat right an run til your tired dont stop the longer you keep running the better the results just dont burn your muscle only fat
yo.. has anybody tried the Acuspeed 24 Diet (just google it)? I am told some awesome talk about it and my sister lost crazy amounts of weight with it.
ok??? well... had you ever ever tried the Acuspeed 24 Diet (do a search on google)? I keep hearing some incredible chatter about it and my uncle burned a ton of weight on it.
I’ve been training with Audiofuel music and been getting PBs ever since. You have to check them out, they provide awesome music specifically for running that also includes optional coaching > audiofuel.co.uk
IMO diet is the number 1 thing for losing weight. Many years ago I lost 50lbs in a year or less just dieting. Years later, I am very overweight, but lift weights and go running pretty regularly (but my diet sucks now) So, I just stay where I am at. I think diet is the most important thing.
The best way to lose weight is to not think about the weight loss. Rather strive for faster times and longer distances, your body is very clever and it will shed the weight in order to go faster. So this is the method, have a distance and speed goal that you are always trying to beat.
Yeah, running and eating right is a great way to lose weight. There are so many types of running shoes and of course, the good ones cost an arm and a leg. You can find good ones at a good price at the Qualify The Deal website. It's like Groupon, for athletes.
@QualifyTheDeal I started running and eat the right foods made me lost weight in 1 week. I was so happy with the results cus I really hated the way my body looked. I am gonna start again to lose more weight
Hi...I started walking/running about 6 weeks ago and along with a healthy diet I have lost 10 lbs. I initially started doing just 1 mile a day for 6 days and then increased to 2 miles....I am now doing 3 miles a day 6 times a week. But the thing is...my mother in law says that once you start running to lose weight you always would have to run. So she says I have to just walk but I've done that and I havent lost any weight that way. So please advice me on what to do. thanks
@cadena2001 just keep running, it feels good doesnt it? and running will blow wind faster across your body than walking will. and wind feels good doesnt it? so just keep running. it will also work your heart so that it becomes stronger and it will strengthen your leg muscles far faster than walking will. but there are in-home cardiovascular exercises that dont require anything but a floor and your will to work your body. just search for the p90x cardiovascular section on youtube
@cadena2001 You're mother in law is right but kinda stupid. Obviously, if you're over weight/ not in shape and you start losing weight by training/ using a diet, you'll gain the weight back if you stop training. Even if you lose 3-5 pounds a month while walking, you'll gain these pounds back when you'll stop walking actively.

@hshannonhall Hey could u help me with this? Srsly I looked it up and there's no video with hearts in it. Is this some kind of prank? Cuz I've seen it before..
@hshannonhall I you honestly believe you can get six pack abs in 4 weeks you are dumber than you look. Yeah it might work for someone who is already fit, been training for years, and is only 4 weeks away from 6 pack abs anyway. But for the rest of us, keep the bs to a minimum.

@rowdie999 ,warm up properly then stretch before continuing to the proper exercise , search online to find correct techniques to stretching properly & efficiently.
how would i do if i want to loose like 30 pounds this summer and ill run 1 mile a day 15mins at 5mph and maybe once i get used to it start doing this like 2 times a day or 3?
@migue2255 yea im joining a track team soon , going for long distance (800m-1500m) and we do track maybe every Monday , Wednesday and Friday , gotta get better with running and its fun to run , like I can run not the best but i want to start running competitively and learn how to properly run
@TheLazZzar Increase the frequency and distance/speed of your runs to increase your weight loss and also keep a very healthy diet so your body loses fat and repairs the damaged muscles. You want to increase your running distances/times so your body will not become use to the labor of your runs and continues to burn fat and build muscles for more efficient running. ;)
Whenever I run in my gym class, after about 3 minutes I get a terrible pain in my right knee and ankle, I am on accutane, I don't know if it is the drug causing this or something other,

@Future0123star your getting stomach cramps, try not to drink as much water before you do long distance running. and then reward yourself after the run with water
it goes away after a while. this sounds weird and it doesnt work for most people but i poke the side of my stomach with my finger and it goes away after a while.....ive learned a lot of weird habits ever since track....
for shin splints, make sure to stretch properly, and get some dr. scholes athletic soles for your running shoes, the problem is not usually because of the shoe but the thin crappy cheap sole it comes with. other things that might be causing the shin splints is improper form. i always try to step below my knees so i don't overextend my strides and cause unnecessary trauma to your feet legs and knees.
i had to start running less in order to gain leg muscle, just keep that in mind if your trying to build muscle not to over train your legs by doing unessasary running, on days when you dont really need to run.
@fallenmongol whats 10K? and i usto run on my toes for about an hour and then my ankles and nee caps started hurting . ive been sittin out for a week now. whats wrong with me?

@rowdie999 it is called Shin Splints, shoes can be a big factor, or if you're like me, you should get orthotics, basically they take a mould of your foot, and make inserts.
the best way to run is without shoes....I'm not saying to start without shoes from the start....start out with sandals, the kind with the straps, and as you progress, remove them and start going bear foot. The more you do this, the stronger your foot muscles will get.
@ptaah7 - yeah I know it sounds simple and even condescending, but its not hard to end up with a bad diet in your life, being too busy in your day and not having lunch on time, or missing the morning and afternoon snacks to keep your metabolism up, not having at least 2 pieces of fruit a day, or as much fresh produce, staying away from non-processed food, increased protein on training days, cut down carbs after lunch, min 3-4 litres of water, etc etc etc
Whenever I decide to start running (which, tbh, is rare) my ankle always gives way after a few seconds...any way of preventing this or to strengthen my ankles?
@mssllsftbll run 20-30mins eat protein, add weights, run faster, eat every 3 hours stop Salt intake! dont drink fizzy juice only water come on now so easy i lost 40lbs in the last 4 months! and still falling come on now u can do it
@Rowdie999 I just started C25K last month and was having the same issue, mainly in right leg. Just happened to remember that my chiropractor told me 15 yrs or so ago that right leg was slightly shorter and I went back to him and asked for a heel lift. It's just a little insert that I put in my shoe prior to walking or running and it has been GREAT. I noticed an immediate difference when I started using it. It's worth looking into- hope this helps!

@Rowdie999 it might be your shoes. i got the same pain. i replaced my shoes to ones that had more support and now i'm fine =) make sure you get a good, athletic shoe. i got a dr.Schools pair at wal mart. awesome running shoes for me ^^
@Rowdie999 well where is it on the front of your legs? if its on the front of your thighs, then its your quads. usually that means either the muscles just tight or you pulled it, which i would recommend staying off it for a while if thats the case. if youre tight, massages and hot baths REALLY help to loosen the muscles up and rub knots out, and it should go away soon; the consistency of your running also would help with the tightness, because soon your muscles will become used to the workouts
@Rowdie999 Your shin splints will happen either from your running FORM and/or your shoes.(Running too much too soon may also be causing stress on your tibia muscles). Changing shoes to fit as close as possible to your natural shape of your sole is best, and will greatly decrease your chances of getting shin splints. And watch your form! Good luck and keep it up!!
@Rowdie999 Dont land on your heel when you run, land with the front of your foot. Run without shoes and notice you naturally dont land on your heel. I had the same problem until i changed my running and got some new shoes with a smaller heel padding.
@Rowdie999 - u may need some different/new shoes. Even after you get new shoes give it a few tries cuz your shins will still hurt getting used to the shoes, but it will get better. These are called "shin splints" I believe.
@Rowdie999 Try stretching your calf muscles prior to your run. If your calves are tight the muscles on your lower front leg will have to work harder.
@Rowdie999 there is a chance you are experiencing shin splint. go look it up. Mostly due to the sudden increase in sporting activities & lack of warm-up. Might want to go slowly on your exercises. Not an expert here, just a fellow who had experienced it.
tip is to take a bicycle ride before the running. Helps warming up the legs in a nice way. Just be sure to keep the tempo somewhat slow so you're not exhausting yourself.
@Rowdie999 do some squats...sounds weird but it tones and strengthens the muscle go to sixpackshortcuts and watch his home cardio video its great for your cardio and leg muscles
Take a week or two off running, place some ice on your shins, and keep your legs stretched out as you do this. After a week or two, start off by getting running shoes, and run on a softer surface. It's not a necessity to run on a softer surface, but it's good for a start after the one/two week(s) break.
@Rowdie999 i use to get this but now i dont because i do stretches before i go for runs but also after running get ice cubes and rub up and down on your legs in the part that hurts for at least 10mins on each leg... it really works. try it.
@Rowdie999 exactly what garet122 said "yes before, just run , dont care, u will see, after 1 week it will be good" ive had pain starting runs, keep going hard, and the pain will go away.. make sure your running posture is good :)
@YouveBeenFagged crunches, push ups, etc, will only tone muscles. And if you're trying to lose weight, then I suggest doing cardio or aerobic workout such as jogging, biking, walking (although good for the first 2 weeks, but speed it up as the weeks get higher, cuz ur muscles will start gting used to that), etc. When you start gting used to it, add another minute to ur time or something. That way, you'll always b burning fat. The key is keeping ur heart rate up.

You all wanna know how to lose weight? EXERCISE, and eat HEALTHY. This doesn't mean starve yourself and never eat good food, just foods that are better for you and your body. As for exercise, you don't NEED to run. Do anything you find fun. Dance, play basketball, swim. Hell, try out that wii thing or just jog in place.
But sitting on your ass, looking up 'magically-lose-weight-with-no-effort' videos won't cut it. I know its hard, i'm still working towards my goal too. But do NOT give up!!!!!
anyone, who wants to not only learn how to lose weight but also, how to permanently lose body fat should check out these highly effective long-term weight loss techniques of this all natural diet& nutrition program: dietsolution-now[dot]com
Running/Cardiol deteriorates muscle. Without weight training you will get older faster. If you want to lose fat not just weight. Weight Train more then you do cardio and eat 5-6 times a day without getting to the point you feel full but not under satisfied.
And for the record H.I.I.T is the best way to lose weight running, this guy explained Nothing.
@Hashashasheen dude, FYI, when u get older, jogging can actually work against you. WHen you jog when you're older, the pressure goes to your heart, therefore gting more chance to heart attack. Look it up.
Wow, thank you for the USELESS INFORMATION. AS IF ANYONE WHO IS SERIOUS ABOUT IT WOULDN'T ALREADY KNOW THAT DIET AND REGULAR EXERCISE WILL IMPROVE YOUR RESULTS. Thanks for letting us in on the secret, Mr. Clean.

for shin splints, make sure to stretch properly, and get some dr. scholes athletic soles for your running shoes, the problem is not usually because of the shoe but the thin crappy cheap sole it comes with. other things that might be causing the shin splints is improper form. i always try to step below my knees so i don't overextend my strides and cause unnecessary trauma to your feet legs and knees.

Im flat footed and run with lose shoes. But when i run i cant run on my toes. Also when iu run my lower back starts to really hurt. any tips.
altiongo6 9 months ago
i had to start running less in order to gain leg muscle, just keep that in mind if your trying to build muscle not to over train your legs by doing unessasary running, on days when you dont really need to run.

Is there a problem with running on your toes?
bluehartz13 9 months ago
@bluehartz13 Stick with short distance running. If you run more than 10K on toes you will get injured easily.

steelers689 9 months ago
@rowdie999 it is called Shin Splints, shoes can be a big factor, or if you're like me, you should get orthotics, basically they take a mould of your foot, and make inserts.
drcobb1984 10 months ago
the best way to run is without shoes....I'm not saying to start without shoes from the start....start out with sandals, the kind with the straps, and as you progress, remove them and start going bear foot. The more you do this, the stronger your foot muscles will get.

thank you for the USEFULL information and revealing the secret so that once again I remembered the importance of DIETING.
ptaah7 10 months ago
@ptaah7 - yeah I know it sounds simple and even condescending, but its not hard to end up with a bad diet in your life, being too busy in your day and not having lunch on time, or missing the morning and afternoon snacks to keep your metabolism up, not having at least 2 pieces of fruit a day, or as much fresh produce, staying away from non-processed food, increased protein on training days, cut down carbs after lunch, min 3-4 litres of water, etc etc etc

@Rowdie999 You may be getting shin splints, go and see your doctor.
TrainingDay91 10 months ago
@Rowdie999 well where is it on the front of your legs? if its on the front of your thighs, then its your quads. usually that means either the muscles just tight or you pulled it, which i would recommend staying off it for a while if thats the case. if youre tight, massages and hot baths REALLY help to loosen the muscles up and rub knots out, and it should go away soon; the consistency of your running also would help with the tightness, because soon your muscles will become used to the workouts
Thesunstillsleeps42 10 months ago
@Rowdie999 Tibial stress syndrome :( I have it too! It sucks!
jmascis 10 months ago
@Rowdie999 Your shin splints will happen either from your running FORM and/or your shoes.(Running too much too soon may also be causing stress on your tibia muscles). Changing shoes to fit as close as possible to your natural shape of your sole is best, and will greatly decrease your chances of getting shin splints. And watch your form! Good luck and keep it up!!
MegaRaawwrr 10 months ago
@Rowdie999 Dont land on your heel when you run, land with the front of your foot. Run without shoes and notice you naturally dont land on your heel. I had the same problem until i changed my running and got some new shoes with a smaller heel padding.

@Rowdie999 - u may need some different/new shoes. Even after you get new shoes give it a few tries cuz your shins will still hurt getting used to the shoes, but it will get better. These are called "shin splints" I believe.

combat246 9 months ago
@Rowdie999 Try stretching your calf muscles prior to your run. If your calves are tight the muscles on your lower front leg will have to work harder.
airclix 9 months ago
@Rowdie999 there is a chance you are experiencing shin splint. go look it up. Mostly due to the sudden increase in sporting activities & lack of warm-up. Might want to go slowly on your exercises. Not an expert here, just a fellow who had experienced it.
shkong 9 months ago
@Rowdie999 You need to do stretches
TotaIChaos 9 months ago
@Rowdie999 its good to stretch the legs, all sides, before your run. avoid meat before a run.
allaboutdatGDA 9 months ago
@Rowdie999 Stretch, hydrate and if you have pain just go for fast walks when you start feeling it and work your way up. Also clean your diet.
TrueGreatness73 8 months ago
@Rowdie999
tip is to take a bicycle ride before the running. Helps warming up the legs in a nice way. Just be sure to keep the tempo somewhat slow so you're not exhausting yourself.
XxPouringRedRainxX 8 months ago
@Rowdie999 do some squats...sounds weird but it tones and strengthens the muscle go to sixpackshortcuts and watch his home cardio video its great for your cardio and leg muscles
smartypartsguy 8 months ago
@Rowdie999
Take a week or two off running, place some ice on your shins, and keep your legs stretched out as you do this. After a week or two, start off by getting running shoes, and run on a softer surface. It's not a necessity to run on a softer surface, but it's good for a start after the one/two week(s) break.
TheNikzJM 8 months ago
@Rowdie999 i use to get this but now i dont because i do stretches before i go for runs but also after running get ice cubes and rub up and down on your legs in the part that hurts for at least 10mins on each leg... it really works. try it.

Does anyone have any experience running with heart rate monitor watches? Friend has a MIO, seems to like it. Any advice is appreciated.
RomioTyson 11 months ago

Look it up.
