Mackie SRM-450 V2 Powered Speakers at NAMM w/ AVGIANT

i just bought these and im really happy with them! but why does it shut down when you are listening to them not loud? does anyone has this problem? please help, i dont know what im doing wrong....

i own a pair of the first mackies srm450 my question is im thinking about getting another 2 but since theres no more of the old ones i would get a pair of the new ones v2 question is? is it ok that i have 2 of the old ones and 2 of the new ones running all 4 together is there a frequency difference between them do they sound the same or i should have all 4 the same like saying i would have to get rid of my old ones and get all 4 v2

Got a pair of these in Black, used them at outdoor and indoor gigs at very high volume and they didnt even skip a beat! Amazing!

i dont understand nothin about sound systems. I have a numark turntable, does this speaker work in my turntable without needing an amp and all that stuff?

@skarametch yeah just connect an xlr from your mixer right into the speaker, no amp or additional gear required

i heard they're no longer using RCF woofers but made in china stuff instead, too bad, just wanted to buy a pair but with the V2's i simply don;t want to risk it

I have 8 SRM450's They Rock! This New Version Stinks... I bought 2 Brand New and Blew one of them on my very First Gig... They might be Lighter to carry around but The Quality Dropped and the new Blueish Color is Ugly

Mackies do sound rubbish though, any speaker with a plastic box for its cabinet is going to sound pretty bad.

The only reason why people think they are good is because no one who buys a pair wants to admit that after spending 2k£ on a pair that they are actually the worse speakers they have ever owned.

So what happens is, all you fools get sucked in by mackies marketing, spend thousands and your all telling your mates they are great to make your self feel better, so more people buy them, :-\

I have the original SRV 450 and have never had a problem with them. They are very clean but require a good mixing board. I don't think making the V2 lighter was a good idea, solid and rugged is the way to go with working equipment.

With all self powering type monitors you need to first break them in at half power and second give them at least 30 minutes to warm up. Never turn them on at full volume and never run them cold. I love my Mackies, never a problem with them.

saved for a year for mine i live in the UK

the tweeters give off a really nasty little buzz not the studio quality i was expecting

come with a 2 pin plug usless in my country.
