    feet

    tall

  • 40!

  • so easy

  • its a geometric series a=20

    r=.5

    S=a/(1-r)=40

  • 40 feet

  • You can't divide them by 2 into infinity, there is a finite limit of division, it's called the Planck Length, or 1.616199(97) x 10^-35 meters.

  • btw putting them inside is techincly stacking so its 20 they will never fall

  • @wesleybuff nay, it says on top of

  • 20+10+5+2.5+1.25+0.625+0.312.5 and so on... 40 feet :D

  • In order for the all dolls to fit in the 20 foot doll, they have to all together be less than 20 feet

sense there are infinite dolls the number would be infinitely close to 20 also known as 19.99999repeating

    20+19.9999repeating= 39.999repeating or, 40 feet

  • Exactly 40 feet... its an infinite geometric summation

    Use the formula:

    starting amount/(1-changing ratio)

    20/(1-0.5)=20 / 0.5= 40

  • 40? or shorter cus i can't stack that high?

  • none! coz......if its a russian doll eventually wen u try stacking dolls on top of one doll, the other doll falls dues to the round surface......i knoe u think its dumb bt read it again...this makes sense!

  • infinite. you said you have a infinite supply of dolls. so you have to have a infinite foot structure

  • @MegaKeldric i agree

  • infinate, becuz it said that the dolls kept going on forever infinitly

  • It can not get over 20 feet tall.

  • pi?

  • Just under 40 ft. I don't know how to say it mathematically

  • @BeakyRed It's actually *exactly* 40 feet.

  • Infinity

  • You can make it infinitely tall herp derp.

  • infinity, you said there was an infinante amount of doll so that means you cant measure it, it never ends.

  • o yay speech bubble EASY! 20 F*CKIN FEET!!!

  • 40ft?

  • 37.5ft

  • it's a convergent series and the anser is 40 feet

  • There is no answer represented by a float or integer. The number is infinitely long.

    Let the answer = X

    39<X<40

  • 40. Yay for grade 10 mathematics!

  • it would be infinate, because there's infinate dolls.

  • They said the amount of dolls was infinate so there is no answer!

  • 20+10+5+2.5+1.25+0.625+0.3125+0.15625+0.078125+0.0390625+0.01953125+0.009765625+0.0048828125+0.00244140625+0.001220703125+0.0006103515625+0.00030517578125=39.99969482421875

0.00030517578125 cannot be halfed to produce a number above -0, halfing it becomes -3.something i think,

've just realised that i did not have to do all this in my head and that i could of used the calculator on my computer, anyway that is the answer right down to the last decimal place lol

    my head hurts now :(

  • @HellOfTheDevil1 how would halfing a positive number give you a negative number?

  • @eretrece quite simple my friend, the number got so small that there is no possible way for it to get any smaller

  • @HellOfTheDevil1 obviously the number goes nearer and nearer to 0 the more often you divide it by two. It won't ever reach 0 though. I am pretty sure that 0.00030517578125 / 2 ≈ 0.00015 and not a negative number.

I'm not sure if you were trying to say that 0.00030517578125 / 2 ≈ -3. This can't be true. If z / 2 = -3, -3 x 2 = z. Minus three times two is minus six. If you halve any positive number you receive another positive number. Thus you won't reach -3 just by halving 20 again and again.

  • @HellOfTheDevil1 Positive numbers can always be halved, and the answer is always positive. Even zero can be halved, and the answer is zero.

  • infinite.

  • 39.99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999

  • I think mom

    20+10+5+2,5+1,25=38,25

OK ummm, i think 39,99999999999999999999999999999999999999999 and so on... which is actually 40 so, 40 feet.

  • Alright, you want to know how tall it goes?

    X = 20

    x+x/2+x/4+x/8...

  • infinitely high?

  • This is easy...it will be infinitely tall...duh...there is an infinite amount of times you can half any number.

  • It would be infinite, because there is an infinite amount of doll on top of each other.

  • It would be as tall as I want it to be.

  • Infinite because the stack would never end. Whatever the number you halve, it will never be zero! :) I think...

  • 40 i would explain it but i don't feel like it

If anyone wants me to explain it I will I just don't feel like it right now If you want me to explain just say so in a reply

  • 39.999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999909999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999... Or something like that...

  • That's going to be calculated with limits...isn't it?

  • well it would sop around 40 actually 39 because the number just keeps getting smaller actually half of the previous so it would eventually just stay theoretically put yes it would never end

  • The correct answer is 39.(9)

  • The stack would be infinite!!!

  • the answer is an infinitely small number just under 40

  • 33.75

  • @ReginaSkitzo ur adding is WAAAYYYYY off

  • 40 feet

  • ITS NOT INFINITE! It will always remain just under 40 feet tall, because no matter how many dolls you have, they keep shrinking away from the totla goal of 40 feet. In questions like this, you can never quite reach double the size of the original subject. Some people... :L

  • FORGET THE RIDDLE! PUMP UP THE MUSIC!!!!

  • about 40ft.

  • Since the number is infinite, the total height is 40 feet.

  • waste of my life!

  • infinite babushkas because you said "infinite dolls"

    i think.... :/ x

  • An infinate Amout!

    :D

  • 37.5 feet

  • ok if he said INFINITE AMMOUT of dolls, then staking thenm would eventually make an infinitly tall tower until them universe implodes.

  • @missyimmy5 i agree with her

  • i can't believe the amount of people who think it is infinate... markus got it correct...

  • infinite if there is an infinite number of dolls it would be infinite

  • 20 is the answer

  • man.. thumbs up if u muted sound because u think there was zombie on the end

  • an infinite hight becouse you said it continued to get smaller infinitly so there for you would never fun out of things to stack.

  • World's Hardest Riddle

    I don't think so

It's not hard and it's not really a riddle - more a maths problem

    ps markus031098 is correct

  • ln19 i think... i used integration.. area under graph of 1/x

  • 75 cm

  • its infinate like the number of dolls... :)

  • Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh yah Fuck this

  • infinite...

  • if you stacked them horizantly there would be diffrent dimmentions and since it cant fall you could stackr them diagnally as well so no matter what you do there is no one right answer.

  • 20+10+5+2.5+1.25=38.75

  • @insaneclownposse3212 there are more than just 5 dolls :P

  • It's 40ft. Or more accurately infininitely close to 40ft.

You start out 20ft away from 40 ft.

the next doll gets you halfway tehre

    10 ft away from 40

the next doll gets you haldway tehre

    5 feet away from forty

the next doll gets you halfway there

    2.5 feet away from forty

    and so forth.

  • 20 ft.

  • I would glue them on top of eachother! :D

  • in meters?

  • the answer is probobly around 38.00 to 39.00 because 1.25 is the only whole number so you wont get any more than the actually whole number so if you were to go infinite you would probobly end up around 40.0 because their is only so many decimals you can add to a whole number

  • it is50 feet tall exactly

  • Its a gp with initial term 20 and common ratio0.5 sum = a/1-r=40 simple.

  • the answer is infinity because each one has a height and you have infinite dolls and anything times infinity is infinity. EASY! also, i'm a fifth grader and i figured this out!

  • @DavidNancyTom you are wrong. the most it could ever reach is 39.9 reoccuring. im in 4th grade and i figured this out.

  • It depends which is the lower doll. If the lower doll was 0.15625, then the height would be 39.84375!

  • he said the dolls went on forever so my answer is................... 10 duuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • 2o

  • Infinite becoz the dolls just keep on going

  • You can make the stack as tall as you can reach. Whether that be standing height, or height achieved by using a ladder etc.

  • 52.5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AM I RIGHT?!?!?!!?!?

  • coes half 20 is 10 and half 10 is 5

  • It would be 20 feet tall becuase every doll can fit into 1. I DONT GET THIS CRAP!!!!!

  • @tiabee33 You are stacking all the dolls on top of eachother. Of course, the 10 foot doll can fit inside the 20 foot doll, but as soon as you stack them, you get a stack which is 30 feet tall (which already surpasses 20 feet). Now, take the 5 foot doll and stack it on top, then the 2.5 foot doll.. ect. The question is, how tall can you make the stack?

  • 20 feet?

  • as tall as you want. its infinite, !

  • OMG!!! easy u stack them inside each other!!!

  • A NUMBER!

  • Um.... well.

    Presumably forever?

  • Until you reach space...Then you'll sufficate

  • 7 dolls

    39.5 feet

  • it would be tall

  • @Wa133D95 It says that the stack will never fall, so you dont have to worry about glue :)

  • never more than 20 ft tall, cause you would spend eternity taking each doll out of the other, if you had infinite amount of dolls, and nobody would care enough to try!!! :p

  • 20 ft tall

  • 20ft! You put all the dolls in the first doll then make it stand up

  • yeah it converges to a limit of 40

  • infininte number of dolls so it can be infinite duh

  • @glennyboy500

    Go back to secondary school..

  • 20 feet tall duh

  • that is the world's medium test

  • the possiblilty is endless. It will never stop. (unless it does, which it isn't)

  • well there is nothing half the size of zero so technically theere is

  • @nimriv2 the first part is true, but if you are dividing by 2 each time, you will never get to zero... the number will just get infinitely small :D

  • @YouAintSeenMyBallz your kinda right i didnt think that through and nice riddle by the way ;))

  • @nimriv2 haha :D

  • it says clearly they get stacked on top of each other. Its' a converging series, each term adding half the previous one, so it can never exceed 40 feet. The answer is 39.9 recurring feet.

  • as long as the universe

  • 20 ft russiAN dolls stack

  • I downloaded this song using the YouTube Converter for free :D lovin the song! :D

  • @MeganRyanXx Awesome! I'm glad you like it! :D

  • What's the song name?

  • @thezonelistener It's called "Heaven" and it was made by me. If you want, you can inbox me your email address and I can email it to you for free :D

  • @ChristianVido thanks! but next time you should sell it on amazon mp3 or iTunes, because that's a pretty good song!

  • ALL OF YOU ARE IDIOTS ITS 20 FEET BECAUSE YOU STACK THEM INSIDE EACHOTHER BLOODY HELL IT AINT HARD!

  • 20 feet, you stack them inside eachother

  • @dawnofthedonuts haha, that's pretty clever! i did say "if you stack them all on top of eachother" though.. still, a pretty crafty answer! :D

  • @ChristianVido so then..... whats the answer?

  • @dawnofthedonuts i'll give everyone a hint. the answer is in the comments, but i won't say which one(s) contain it. :D

  • ínfinite

  • easy ... the dolls height always gets divided by 2 -> there are infinite dolls cause you can divide every number (no matter how small it is) divide by 2

so the height would be infinite

  • easy ... infnite

  • 20ft ? (:

  • Almost 40 feet. The more you stack the close you get to 40 feet but you never reach 40 feet.

  • Infinite as you have an infinite number of dolls.

  • @K0xGH0STZz No dude. Read about the Geometric series.

  • i love that ridle

  • @K0xGH0STZz No it's not infinite, you mayhave infinite dolls but they are constantly shrinking away from the goal of 40 feet and you will never reach 40 feet.
