I'm not hating, just stating what i saw in this video and what could have avoided the entire situation. 1st when drag racing anything turbo'd, you want to spool the turbo until you have enough boost built up to have a good launch otherwise you build boost a little down the drag strip and the tires go out from under you like in this video. 2nd know where your brake pedal is vs the gas pedal. You can clearly see he keeps pressing on the gas instead of the brake. Btw sorry about your truck.
Doing a boosted launch is great for 4wd & AWD vehicles....or MUCH slower 2wd ones. This truck was capable of running in the 10's and it was 2wd. If you tried to do a boosted launch with that much power in a 2wd it will just sit there and smoke the tires through 1st, 2nd, and into 3rd gear. There's a lot more skill involved in getting a good launch with a 700+ RWHP turbo diesel 2wd pickup truck.

When he begun loosing control, he release the throttle. Engine braking kick-in = FAIL to keep control! Similar to locking the wheels with no ABS. Is they exist a safety feature to disengaging the tranny??? i don't know but i fear the same happen to me with my Chevy, specially on winter!

Dag on that was a hard crash, what a guard rail fail too. You better stick to drag racing, steering dosen't seem to be a strong point even going straight, one little wiggle and it's all the steering all the time, and it's too much and too late, damn it was just a wiggle, roll out and get it headed in the right direction.

when he shot towards the wall on the left, you can see the front tires locking up for a second. after that, the front was in the air so there was no way for the driver to brake

@cyberhendrix What do you mean these trucks are not meant for it? Diesel trucks are more popularly used for towing/ heavy duty work. Pick up trucks are more popularly bought and used for work in general, but are not limited too. Diesel trucks are fast and a lot of power and can be modded and fit to be fast, there is no limit. Diesel also runs cooler and more efficient making them capable of going longer and harder the most vehicles with minimum engine wear

There is no "engine brake". You can get an optional "exhaust brake" for towing, but obviously this drag truck didn't have one of those.

You better stick to drag racing, steering dosen't seem to be a strong point even going straight, one little wiggle and it's all the steering all the time, and it's too much and too late, damn it was just a wiggle, roll out and get it headed in the right direction.

to the people who say trucks arnt made for racing.. do you think hondas are made for racing? hell no, someone jus sooped one up one day and it went fast..same for us diesel guys. we can make 600+hp extremely reliable, daily drive the truck with factory steet manners, use it at work, take the family on a road trip..then on the weekends put it on the drag strip and show up some stangs and vettes. then drive it back home..with the family piled in it too..dont hate on it cuz it true..

You have no clue what you are talking about.Get your drivers license then talk about "defensive driving" on a drag strip.1st of all the first impact doesn't look bad on video..but I've tagged the wall with the drivers side of the car at 1/2 track,at about 95 mph,it's enough to knock you out.2nd,there should be ZERO race tracks with guardrails instead of concrete barriers.I don't how many cars have to go over guardrails till they don't allow tracks to operate with them alone

did it not seem the it got worse and worse untill the truck hit the pole. In an accident there is usually a point when a vehicle slows to a stop either by hitting something or by the driver using the brakes I didn't see either one, so to bring you back to my comment where was the defensive driving?

@cyberhendrix What do you mean these trucks are not meant for it? Diesel trucks are more popularly used for towing/ heavy duty work. Pick up trucks are more popularly bought and used for work in general, but are not limited too. Diesel trucks are fast and a lot of power and can be modded and fit to be fast, there is no limit. Diesel also runs cooler and more efficient making them capable of going longer and harder the most vehicles with minimum engine wear
