I actually think belief in God is scarier than atheism. In atheism, you will die and all is well. But if God exists, and the afterlife is real, then there are REAL consequences for this life. We actually have to behave ourselves! Being an atheist is the easy way out.

I'm not afraid of death not because of heaven. I'm no longer afraid of death because I have new life in Jesus. Not just "death insurance", but I have a relationship with God.

A lot of atheists say people only worship God because they're afraid of death, but my point is that atheism is less scary than belief in God. To men, atheism isn't reality, so basically the reality is that eternity is real and it requires more courage to believe this.

As to your question/ comment about why the Resurrection of Christ has never been documented by non-biblical sources, I am not too sure either as I am just a student and not an expert in this field, but let us remember that the coming of Jesus Christ and his Resurrection has all happened in the prehistoric era, meaning before the invention of writing.
