  • live to feed.....

  • im impressed to learn maybe redinov should make a video if she or he has so much knowledge share it not critic others

  • We're in big trouble if this lady is a 'expert'! Go back and take hummingbirds 101! They are homeothermic during the day and poikilothermic endothermic at night during torpor. Simply put, they are warm blooded during the day and cold blooded at night.

  • Gigantic sequoia sleeping humming bird is the title of a group of photos that I shot one afternoon in Moscow, ID. If it wasn't sleeping, it was napping hard. Eyes closed and beak open almost as if it was snoring.

  • They don't go into torpor unless it is necessary to survive; it is a high-risk condition.

  • Very informative; I always wanted to know why hummingbirds feed very heavily late in the afternoon. Thanks for the information :)

  • I enjoyed this article and thank you please ignore the nit pickers comments, you know alot and are very informative

  • As has been said, hummingbirds are endothermic - more closely related to the semi-inaccurate term "warm-blooded" than the also semi-inaccurate term, "cold-blooded." And you might be better served writing a script or an outline, as much of the video was somewhat repetitive and could have been more concise. But it was informative and I appreciate your efforts.

  • .. hummingbirds are warm blooded and you stutter alot during the video

  • ALL birds are warm blooded...hmm. You'd best study up lady.

  • She's about as smart as Sarah Palin.

  • Hummingbirds are WARM blooded...

  • Hummingbirds are warm-blooded (as are all birds and mammals.....)

  • I hate to disagree, but hummingbirds are NOT cold blooded. They're endothermic.

  • I bet the people who brought in the resting hummingbirds were shocked when the birds started to fly around.
