Good question, especially since your route is so much better!

Actually, as far as I know this is the route I figured out by myself way back, with some small improvements that I either figured out myself or by watching newer videos.

This basic route was my first real foray into going for speed in katamari :) It's crazy, but I can't bear to learn a new route in this stage, even though your route is so much faster.
