@XKaliber2097 5) As I have already said, the lands are only going up. If they get to sixty a piece for the lower ones, and then they get banned, people will be pissed and there could be a huge backlash. As I have said, the dual lands only make the format more expensive to get into, and eventually the format will completely alienate all casual players due to the simple cost of land. This is not a good thing for the health and popularity of magic, or for the profits of wizards.
@MushroomHead they aren't broken, they aren't going to caused any real unfair 1st turn wins, easy locks on your opponent, or fast card advantage like black lotus, the moxs, skull clamp, and other cards like that. They are just stupid, as they are a dual lands with no drawback. So, I wish they would get banned from legacy, they don't add any flavor to the format, just make it too expensive for casual players
@RobinHoodMog Wow you are a pretentious idiot. The statement, "they make the format playable" is hilarious. As if the dual lands were removed, the format would just die. Sure the powerful decks now would be less powerful, and some would even disappear, but new decks would appear as well. The dual lands don't make the format more fun or less fun, they are just there. Standard is a horrible decision for casual players as they constantly have to trade to keep their cards block. Legacy works best.
4) The format would not "just die". However, it would certainly make the format harder. When I said "they make the format playable", I did not say "they make the format accessible". The duals allow you to play all the decks that make Legacy, well, Legacy. What new decks would appear? Since when did restricted manabases = more decks? That doesn't make any sense...
5) This is probably the worst time to ban them. Legacy is booming. People are investing in Legacy NOW. Why ban them?
@RobinHoodMog Wizards has flat out said that they won't re-print the dual lands. This means that the legacy and magic in general, which are growing in popularity, will cause demand for dual lands to go up while supply goes down. This means that they will eventually become so expensive and so hard to even find people selling them, that the format of legacy will actually be ruined. Wizards can then ban them, but unfortunately everyone who owns them will end up losing huge money.
1) Legacy does not work best for a casual player. Please give me 3 reasons why.
2) Please give a reference. I would like to see where they "flat out said that they won't reprint the dual lands", because they never have.
3) That's actually not true. Legacy has been increasing in popularity forever, and even before then, dual lands were legal in Extended, meaning that for the longest time people have been buying/using/etc dual lands.
1) 3 reasons, what an arbitrary number. The reason is casual players do not want to constantly invest in new cards for standard or extended and do not constantly go to tournaments to trade in block. So EDH and legacy work best.
@XKaliber2097 well if people take care of their duel lands it wont be too soon, of course. i have found alot of duel lands and people who play them keep good care of them because like you they understand that they wont be reprinted so we have to get the best use out of them while theyre here. i have been playing legacy and ive gotten all the duel lands 4 of each so i got my playset. good thing some people know how to take good care of them
@MrUWcontrol That's great about you taking care of dual lands..... I would say most people do. But this argument isn't about that, it's about legacy becoming more and more popular so the dual lands demand highly increases. This is why the prices have sky-rocketed....... When you make an argument, next time, try making relevant points.
@XKaliber2097 2) Youtube will not let me post a link but there is a list of cards wizards will never reprint on their site on the official reprint policy page. Know what you are talking about.
3) The price of dual lands has gone up significantly in the last year alone. This is due to a decreasing supply and increasing demand. I never claimed that dual lands haven't always been played, only the prior statement, which is inarguably true
@XKaliber2097 4) Limiting a format can increase the number of decks that exist. For example, during the mirroden block, affinity was pretty much the only deck, because to run anything else would just not be as successful. After the cards that made affinity good were banned, and tons of new decks popped up. The point is, which restrictions, some decks die and new decks show up. The current decks of legacy are not what define the format. Decks come and go.

So they need to be banned now, while it will only be slightly sad for those who already own them.

@XKaliber2097 Oh my god I just lol'd so hard.
Seriously? Ban lands?
1) They're making the format playable. What else would we use? Shocklands? Hell no.
2) That's why casual players shouldn't play Legacy. Duh. Casual =\= Legacy. Legacy is an expensive format but not as expensive as Standard.
