This song never fails to bering tears to my eyes. I was a sixten year old Canadian who hoped to be one of the "Green Berets', but I ended up being just another 'gravel tech', who made it out alive. Bless the "Beret'.

So much for the Green Berets. I have more respect for the NLF & No. Vietnamese: the scrawny little commie bastards took everything the world's most powerful country could hit them with & still didn't break down & surrender. The VC/No. Vietnamese won their war through sheer courage, resolution, endurance, intelligence, strength of will, perseverance, discipline, & ruthlessness. The VC/No. Vietnamese proved far superior to their enemies.
