In the long run it would be better to hold on to the RV because if gas and diesel goes up so does the home maintainance and we all maybe living in them, We are back on that same track again now in 2011.
That RV was priced at $65,000. How can someone that has $65,000 to spend on an RV complain about an extra $1 per gallon on the price of gas? You can get a super nice clean big safe RV for $20,000 if you shop smart and don't give all your money to a dealer that needs to put his kids through college on the profit from selling you an RV. With the $45,000 saved, this guy could have afforded to pay the extra $1 per gallon on 45,000 gallons of gas! That's enough to go at least 300,000 miles in an RV!
6/17/09 RVs make excellent "spare rooms" for family visits. On vacation trips AAA figures $100-$150 per day (motels & restaurants) without an RV so if you are going somewhere that you can spend a few days your fuel cost can be more than offset (except purchase cost of RV-good used ones can save a bundle). RVers don't pack/unpack every night. All your personal stuff is right where you want it. RVers are pretty congenial people and many make life long friends on their outings.
I'm sure that someone who drives for fuel efficiency can save a ton on gas in one of those big RV's

the rv business is actually getting bigger, even with gas prices, because everything else is too expensive.
