I used to think that no one style is better than another, and I do still think that a good fighter from one style will beat a bad fighter from another. But I did Taekwondo for a few years, and when I fight a Muay-Thai fighter it's like there is a mis-match of styles and it goes in favour of the other guy. Taekwondo just doesn't prepare you for those leg kicks! You're expecting to beat him with speed and fluidity, you take one big shot to the thighs, and you can't dance any more!
If you look at the TKD guys face at 0:20 he realized what he was up against. No style is better than the other, but those Muay Thai guys are build like stone. Brute Strength, they kill the nerves in their shins so they can kick you with full power all day long and not feel a thing. This is for true Muay Thai guys, not the creatine filled, jug heads in your average U.S. gym who say they practice Muay Thai.

Muay Thai won & I expected that, I've been practicing TKD for several years and have been studying other forms for almost as long so I know the pros & cons of some martial arts. Each have their flaws and each have what make up for those flaws. Don't judge one form of martial arts because a fighter loses. As others have said before, it comes down to the fighter not the art when it comes to fights. If it were just some guy up against MT, they wouldn't have been able to get up like the TKD guy did.
@Datleco Best Muay Thai fighter vs the best TKD and my money would be on Muay Thai. Far more conditioned and powerful fighters with better hand. Basically, Muay Thai is far more practical for either the ring or the street. Don't forget the clinch, knees, elbows and take downs.the problem wit TKD is that they rely too much on kicks, and their kicks are way to flashy.They waste alot of time and energy pulling off these super spinning jump.

Muay Thai won & I expected that, I've been practicing TKD for several years and have been studying other forms for almost as long so I know the pros & cons of some martial arts. Each have their flaws and each have what make up for those flaws. Don't judge one form of martial arts because a fighter loses. As others have said before, it comes down to the fighter not the art when it comes to fights. If it were just some guy up against MT, they wouldn't have been able to get up like the TKD guy did.

@Datleco Best Muay Thai fighter vs the best TKD and my money would be on Muay Thai. Far more conditioned and powerful fighters with better hand. Basically, Muay Thai is far more practical for either the ring or the street. Don't forget the clinch, knees, elbows and take downs.the problem wit TKD is that they rely too much on kicks, and their kicks are way to flashy.They waste alot of time and energy pulling off these super spinning jump.
