BTW: here are the lyrics to Vera Lynn's wartime song that Water's is speaking of.. when i heard these song's i think of a man, who lost his mother or wife in a tradgic accident and is deeply depressed and he asked if anyone else could feel his pain, but no one could, so as the second song comes on, its like he is dying of an overdose or something, then it moves into comfortably numb.

Its his father. His father died in the war when he was young. After his father died Water's heard Vera Lynns song "we'll meet again" about the troops. So as Rogers got older he wondered what happened to Vera Lynn and her "promise" that we'll meet the troops again.

As to "dreamcracker99", I agree, I lost my brother at the age of 23 and my best friend at the age of 38 and we grew up in the 80's and grew up listening to this music. I miss those days and feel empty inside, all alone, which leads me to my next favorite song "GoodBye Cruel World"...
