I have been a Notre Dame fan all my life. And I love this movie. My Dad and Grandpa would also clean the field after. My Grandma has recently died. She had pictures of my Dad from his childhood. He came across some from a Notre Dame game. It was a polaroid, there was a date on the back. 11-8-1975. My Dad and Grandpa had been at the actual Rudy game! Rudy did deserve to play because he tried harder than anyone who wasn't a starter. He show everyone the commitment and desire that's needed for the team to succeed. Of course the movie has been dramatized that is what Hollywood directors do. The fact that he got to Notre Dame in the first place is a credit to his determination. Then to take a beating on the practice squad for 2 years for just the chance to play. Who cares if the crowd was chanting or if the players tossed their jerseys. The movie is not about the crowd or the other players. It is a movie about the strength and power of a dream and the beauty of the human spirit. Wake up JM.
