  • @FawxNewbz Prob got wires crossed there mate, the 2k included kit, Superior Drummer, Yamaha DD55, Apple Mac, If ya ment just the TD6 kit then 1K

  • @FawxNewbz Cheers, whole set up including Mac <£2000. Mac since died, so had to invest in new PC, sound card, software upgrades ect ect.. list goes on lol. But all self funded.

  • this has nothing to do with the vid but i cant stand people who think they have to hit the heads hard like travis barker. i have a buddy who thinks you have to beat them to death to get good. naive little bastards.

  • WOw! So this is the right way to connect: (?)

yamaha dd55-->midi out (cable) to midi in in roland module, then roland td6 (in my case will be td9)--->midi out/usb cable to pc or notebook?

So there are 1 midi-midi cable, and 1 midi-usb...right? Watching your video gave me the idea to buy a cheap yamaha dd to add some extra pads instead of buying the more expensive roland pads!

by the way, thanks for the video

  • @youtalia Yep that is correct, in the case of the TD6 you have to set the MIDI out to MIDI thru in the module's settings. Then all the MIDI date transmitted from the Yamaha DD will be sent along with the data transmitted by the TD6/9 to your PC via the USB interface. Just make sure that the pads on the Yamaha DD are using different Midi notes to the pads on the TD6/9.

  • That Hi-Hat is offensively small :(

  • feeling sleepy while watching this video....

  • ...watching this reminded me to water my artificial plants...

  • I have the same kit pretty much, the midi to usb cable and dfh 2 but am having problems getting the midi to come through, what settings do you have on your module? thanks!

  • @gumbootiner The setting on the module is the factory setting, You will need to set Superior 2 to receive on the correct midi notes as what is sent out from the module. Click the midi learn for a drum in Superior then hit the correseponding kit piece. however, if you are not getting any midi signals from the module to your host application it could be a problem with the MIDI settins in your host application....

  • Can you add extra toms or cymbals or does it only house a certain amount.

  • @mexicanbear77 you can add one more trigger than I have in the video.

  • I have Cubase SX 3 and a midi cable but what do I do it where the cable comes out in computer please help me

  • @osmanichuf I think what you need is a MIDI-USB Interface so you can connect the MIDI out on the kit to a USB port on your computer.

  • @willdrumforcash

the midi cable that is not connected to the Td 6 Module connects or how they think the

So I need a midi usb cable

  • wow im sick of seein vides of these drums sets...everyone that owns one fucking sucks my cock WOW!!!!!!

  • @paperpro3223 Hate to disappoint but I am not that way inclined, Sorry mate.

  • Does the TD6 support triple zone cymbals like the CY-12?

  • @TheRockinQ They do work with the TD6, I use one as the ride. but i dont think the triple triggering is supported only dual. I far as I am aware you can either use the bow/bell or bow/edge out on the cy12, either way, some of the ride sounds are velocity sensitive, so cause you naturally stick the bell harder you can use the one cymbal to trigger 3 sounds....

  • @willdrumforcash Thanks for the quick reply! I have another question. Can you use dual zone and choke at the same time?

  • @TheRockinQ Yes, if I understand your question correcly. Sticking the cy produces note on/off messages and choke uses MIDI CC message. So regardless of which Zone you strick on the CY you are able to choke the sound.

  • Great vid man, good playing, and sweet sounds! I gota TD6 and superior drummer 2.0 Im using cubase 5 and I got a midi to usb lead straight in. Most things work well but I cant get the bell to or choke to work on the cymbols, and the highat opening and closing isnt great doesnt go thru the variations well. Any tips on what you have done to get everything working so well? ;) Much appreciated!

  • @beavisthelizard Hi, Right, to get the bow/bell working as far as I can remember you need to set up midi nodes for the ride, so it velocity switches between the bow sound and the bell sound depending on how hard you hit the ride. Choke you need to set the midi aftertouch in the Envelope section of the construct window. Hihat - cant remember. I think I have a combined preset with all the above set up. Give me a few mins and I will PM you with a link to download it if I can....

  • Thank you.. great help!

  • Hi, Can you plug an mp3 player straight into the brain on the td6kx to play along to mp3's? Much appreciated if you can help me?

  • @littlewack2005 Yeah the TD6 has a 3.5mm jack plug 'Mix in' so you can connect a mp3 player to it using a male to male 3.5mm jack lead.

  • Hey man! Great sound, is 'Drummer from hell' a software you're using meanwhile? And did you connect the yamaha dd 55 to your Mac?

  • @danilobatterista Yeah DFH is a 'softsampler' produced by a company called toontrack. The Yamaha is connected with a MIDI lead to the MIDI thro on the TD6 then a USB-MIDI interface connects the TD6 to the Mac, so the signal from the DD55 passes thro the TD6.

  • wow head phones really work. are the drums almost silent ? please reply i need advice!

  • @soohyunfanz Yeah the mesh heads dont make much noise, I have the rubber headed kick trigger tho, which makes a bit more noise than the mesh headed drums.

  • i dont think you have drums from hell, because there are no drums in hell.

enjoy your drums from anywhere else than hell!

  • thanks for the quize

  • can you play the rim of the toms and the hi-hat cy12h

  • @osmanichuf I dont think that the DT6v supports rim triggering from the PD85 pads, think it does if you are using PD8 pads.

The hi hat does support bow and edge triggering.

  • the fill at 2:55 is really dope, will be referring back to this

  • @aridderb Cheers mate!

  • nice man

  • Comment removed

  • How did you connect the other little box pads to the brain?

  • @Sephlolege Set the MIDI in on the TD6 to 'MIDI thro' then use a MIDI cable between the Pads MIDI out to the MIDI in on the TD6.

  • what number is the rim of the snare please write back to me

  • @osmanichuf Hi, I am not using any of the sounds from the TD6 Brain, I am using DFH Superior sounds

  • is it connected just by a midi cable ? :D Wanna do the same

  • @drummer9000 It is connected with a MIDI USB interface.

  • Nice Setup

  • what program are you using as your sampler? i have a hard time getting my latency low enough to make it playable. do you have much latency?

  • @inviscid43 DFH Superior is the sampler and I use Cubase as a host. I was using a Apple Mac also when this vid was made, think they are better at handling latency than PC..

  • @willdrumforcash

    you my sir are wrong

PC is far more superior in "handling" latency

Mac is good for media based things

and thats where the greatness of Mac ends

  • @MantirayFromSpace Fair enough. If you want a PC vs Mac argument go elsewhere, I can only speak from personal experience.

  • @willdrumforcash who the hell cares? their computers... lol

  • @MantirayFromSpace naa cause a pc will just crash

  • siik drumming sound like this guy check him out...el negro hernandez

  • They are being dicks.... Don't listen to the haters... It is very good and cool man, Cheers!

  • Just started playing the drums; but can you [or anyone] tell [or point] me [to] HOW you do a mini-roll on the snare as you start a fill? Thanks guys.

  • @natgalmac i'm asking me the same...

  • how do you install it?

  • I can hear it just fine.

  • I think all the guys here doesnt get it that Drum Kit from Hell ist just a VST-Plugin, or easy said it is a programm which make your e-kit sound more like a real acoustic kit!

  • where the fuck are the drums from hell?

You're kind of faker! You fraudsters!

    You stole my time :-(

  • @LilFabBeatz thats the name of the kit he is using on his electric drumset

  • @LilFabBeatz sorry mate dont understand you?? drums from hell is what you can hear when you whatch this video.???

  • @willdrumforcash yeah and I mean that I can't hear the drums from hell!

  • @LilFabBeatz I dunno what to say then mate, the sound is working fine on here when I view it.

  • @LilFabBeatz hey noob...drums from hell is a superior drummer line...it's computer software based sound triggering program...get with it man

  • @dpaik360 yeah now i know it.. i don't play with an e-drum... everything is alright :-)

  • how much was that roland td 6 kit and that thing your using honest answer please =)

  • @TalentlessNoob The TD6Kx was just over £1000 new and the Yamaha DD55 was about £150ish new. Think the TD6 has now been replaced by the TD9?? and the DD55 by DD65??

  • @willdrumforcash ahh thats not so bad im from the states so it might be same price not sure lol is it worth buying lol

  • I live in a flat (apartment?) so cant practise on a real kit with out neigbours complaining. The DD55 is not that great, would not have brought one if I already had the Roland kit. I do use a softsample called DFH by Toontrack, all the sounds in this video are not from the Roland kit, I found it very different feel to playing a real kit, would definatly suggest going into a shop which has one set up and having a go on one be for you comit to buying. Hope that helps a bit....

  • how did you connect your drumset to your pc? i have the Roland HD-1 and i dont know what cable to buy...

    please answer

    thanks

  • Hi, to get the Midi data in to the PC I use a Edirol UM1X, think that is discontinued now. But any Usb Midi interface should do. Cakewalk do a UM-1G MIDI Interface which is pretty similar, I think.

  • Hi, to get the Midi data in to the PC I use Edirol UM1X, that is discontinued now. Think that the Cakewalk UM-1G MIDI Interface is pretty similar tho. But any USB MIDI interface should do the trick.

  • The cymbals don't sound much worse than the others. haha They just sound more like a splash or china. cool

  • How did you mout the dd55 that high? i'm wanting to do the same with my dd65

    Cheers :)

  • I mounted the top half of a snare cradle in the bottom half of a cymbal stand, then put that on a little table, not the sturdiest creation......

  • @willdrumforcash thanks alot :)

  • hey!

for the ride cymbal, do u use a y cable?

  • no, I dont.

  • Did you use ASIO for all to reduce latency

and if you did what did you set it to if you don't mind me asking.

  • No, I dont use that. Just use the drivers that are already on my Mac or what came with the MIDI interface..... not too sure really.... Sorry

  • do all td 6's have bouncy white skins also PLEAAAAAAAAAAASE tell what other ones have those bouncy white skins

  • I think only the TD6kx has the mesh skins and the TD6 has rubber ones.

  • my td6 came with one mesh skin and the rest rubber.

  • yeah only the TD6 KX has all mesh heads

  • rofl

  • Hey nice video and a question i was wondering is it possible to tune the drum sounds snare toms ? Ambiance and all that other stuff doesn't matter.

  • Hi, No you can't really tune them, but I think you can adjust the pitch or each sample.

  • I know this is a stupid question but how you can plug electric drums to computer? like with what cord or something.

  • Not at all, Any MIDI> USB Interface.

  • ye you can change ambience, sensitivity and level thats about it for the sound but sadly no tuning options for pitch not on the E kits ive come accross so far and ive seen a 5 grand kit that doesnt let you change pitch thats probably the only bad thing about E drums

  • do you have three way triggering for the ride? or am i just hearing things? if so how'd you set that up? i've read that the td-6v doesn't support three way triggering...only the td-4 12 and 20

  • Yeah, Think the Cy12 is a dual trigger. And uses velocity to trigger the the third sound, the bell.

  • actually...the CY-12 and CY-15 are three zone cymbals...they have two outputs...one for bow/bell and another for bow/edge. Just wondering how you got the bell/bow/edge sound all on the ride. How do you have that cymbal connected to your module? are you using both outputs of the cymbal? or just one?

  • I'm Using the bow/edge output. hitting the bow or the bell area of the Cy harder triggers a bell sound, softer triggers the bow sound.

  • then how are you getting the ride edge sound, bell sound, and the bow sound all with one output? are you using edrum monitor or something to map softer hits to bow and harder hits to bell? how bout the edge? i guess you can't answer my question definitively unless i see it for myself...thanks anyways

  • Sorry I cant help you much... I just plugged it in at thats the way it worked...

  • hi, I've just buy a TD-12 and I'm trying to trigger Superior 2, I have some problems with choke... did you set something in particular way?

    Thanks, bye.

     Lorenzo (Italy)

  • Hi, I use Superior 1. All I did was to load the relevant Key Map for the kit, which was on the CD. Not sure how Superior 2 works but try adjusting the envelope/aftertouch section...

  • Hi! I have finally found how to choke but the strange thing is I have to manually "LEARN" the signal sent from the drum because Superior lost this parameter everytime (maybe beacuse it's not a simple midi note).

Anyway I'm doing some interest acustic preset with TD12+DD55, I have done some test audio (no video yet). See you! :)

  • how much do these cost?

  • like over $3000

  • It's over nine thousaaaaaaaaaaaaaand...

  • Guys--- With any of these programs→ EZ/ BFD/Superior--Is it as simple as just firing up the software ...going e drums midi->usb in to the computer and then just mapping your kit to any ezdrummer sound ?

  • no,, way diff, you'll need a computer prefferably a laptop, and a host program such as fl studio 8 or cubase etc. then you'll need a audio midi interface, which gets rid of latency, so that way when you hit the pad, the sounds trigger then, as them triggering 2 seconds later or what not! and thast about it!

  • noob...it triggers at the right time...there's latency in the output of the sound...no latency in input unless you have an OLLLLD computer...but most comps 7 years old and younger are good...and download ASIO4ALL 2.9 for onboard cards and they have dedicated ASIO drivers for more expensive and external audio soundcards

  • Hey, nice video! I have a few question, I have the same roland brain, and I was wondering: with your dd55, can you change the pad's sound through the roland brain? Like for instance if I wanted a roland sound effect on the dd55, could that be done? Also, I noticed your cymbals are playing in stereo rather than mine. I can only get one sound out of them, Do you know the model of your cymbals? I believe mine are different, and I'm looking to replace them with some dual triggers cymbals! Thanks!

  • Cheers, Im not really sure. My DD55 is running thro the TD6, then both are connected to a software sampler called DFH Superior. So basically the sounds you are hearing are not from the TD6 brain. My cymbals are a cy12 r/c and a cy 8. Hope that helps a bit.

  • I know you said any good instrument shop, but could you be a bit more specific please? Did you have to go into somewhere like PMT and ask them to order one or where you in a specific shop like Allegro? Thanks, cool video!

  • I got mine form a shop in London called 'Turnkey'. to be honest I think roland have discontinued the TD6 and poss replaced it with the TD4s and TD9s. But most Drum shops, (google; drumwright or drumshop) I have been into stock Edrums, or will deliver to you.

  • Great, thanks a lot mate!

  • what are drums from hell?

  • its a sample based drum software synthesizer

  • does the TD6kx come with double bass?

  • The Kd8 bass drum pad is compatible with double pedals.

  • it depends the store give you

i got a double bass pedal for free with my TD-12

    and my TD-9

  • how much for the kit cause i drum 2 and i want one like that pls write back

  • £1000ish

  • hey man, if u are going to sell the roland kit, we should arranger something man like you was saying on the 5th of June....

comment me back for more details..

cheers bro have a good 1!!

  • Yeah, I not selling mine mate. Think you should contatct 'MattsaMarimba'

  • perfect im rather jealous lol

  • nice 4*

  • great set-up as well as great playing.

  • Cheers mate!

  • Hello, you have no midi latency, nice 1!!mine is hooked up from td6v to laptop with just a midi cable to mbox protools but got a little latency!notice you use midi out to mac usb ,is this a better way of hookin up,Any advise would be cool thanks ezdrummer btw.

  • i use ezdrummer drummer, a midi cable from the module, to a tascam us-144 zero latency audio midi interface, and that usb into laptop usin fruity looops and ezdrummer hope it helps

  • how much did the td-6 cost you mate? because im intrested in buying one for myself, yer just let me know thanks mate have a good 1! good mixture of drums 2 btw.

  • £1100

  • im probably selling mine if your still trying to find one, fairly cheap

  • mIZZEGA CHE SUONI!! FANTASTIC!

  • Hi ther It souds amaising with the superior drummer , how do you plug them to your mac via MIDI or USB , ? and do you plug them separately ?jajaja I´m interested in the yamaha

  • The Yamaha is plugged into the the MIDI Thru on the TD6 using a standard MIDI cable, and the TD6 is plugged into the Mac using a MIDI - USB interface.

  • Okies16...

I've had some guys that play there acoustic kits play my TD-6 and they say they want to get triggers for their kits so they can play the sounds on it, mainly because it sounds great and you have 100 kits that are edit-able and it saves having to mic an acoustic kit.

  • I have the TD-6 but only the snare is mesh, I bout another cymbal and another kick for it (KD-8) it works if you have a splitter plugged into the kick input, I use a mono 1/4m x 2x 1/4f plastic "y" , I think you can use 1/4" patch cables as I have one that is and the dual zone cable that came with it plugged into mine. I am interested in how he has the yamahahooked up here, I have one too ,I have an Alesis control pad as well I'd rather use. also Bill Ward signed my Mesh snare for me 8D .

  • Is there a double-kicker on this or a way to have one?

These drums look amazing, I'm hoping to get a set one day.

  • Yeah, a double pedal will fit the kick pad.

  • cool pads are cool holy fuck

  • thats pretty cool see what hes done there=D not to fond of electric kits my self because there just not authentic for technique but they are pretty cool=D

  • i saw that in store and it costs about $ 1350

  • nice set, I am gonna get this set, but I need to know can you turn the lugs to ajust the tension on the head?

  • Yeah you can on the pads with the mesh heads.

  • only thing I don't like about electric sets is how sensitive the snare and kick are, you can tell this guy is having a hard time with it at some spots, especially the snare.

  • how much for this set up? american

  • cost me about £1100

  • Can I ask you something? I got the same elctronic kit and my kickdrum pad keeps on moving and I cannot seem to find a way to make it stop. Maybe you know how to do that?

  • I got mine on really thick carpet with the spikes on the pad and the pedal stuck in. not had any trouble with it moving so far. But I had that prob with an acustic kit B4 and just stuck a really heavy amp in front which worked....Not sure if that helps tho....

  • Hahaha!

  • hola buen video

  • Thanks

  • you just play like on your own or you got a song playing in your headset ?

  • Yeah, just randomly playing, not playing along to anything.

  • this is the first time ive ever heard good sounding electric drums imo

  • Great drumming BTW!!!

  • Thanks!

  • Make more videos?????

  • Hey cool! I have a dd55 too im 12 so i just jam and play solos

  • Where??? o0

  • ha i just read that whole conversation under my comment. i'm with einskraft though. i mean, scissorhand26 is completely right. but geese einskraft might kill himself now HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH

  • Both were stupid. It is both. You must know how to play hard but you also most be able to have control (soft). If you play a groove soft it sounds insecure. There must be a firm backbeat. All (as good as) Pro drummers beat like mad man on their drumset but you have to know how to direct that energy into a relaxed sound cause if you just start beating like a redneck as scissorman said you just get a clumsy tense sound.

  • agreeed

  • u r the 2nd to say that. I had just got the kit when I made this vid, So yeah! wasnt sure how much of a battering it would take!!

  • Ah right I see, yeah i know what you mean now!

  • You are an idiot. The point of playing drums isn't just to hit them harder. If you think the purpose of music is to be tough then I think you are in the wrong field. Go play football, or do boxing.

  • Wow, that is the most idiotic reply ever!

Listen, When you hit a drum harder you get a louder, pro-longed sound, never heard of that? no? Then go play ywith your little zylaphone!

  • Or, when you play with softer dynamics, you get an intentionally quieter and softer sound. There is nothing definite in music. This guy doesn't seem to be attempting a loud dynamic in his performance. Go listen to some heavy metal or something.

  • Oh my god. Idiot. So you only like the softer notes? Go listen to some classic music then. I was simply commented on that he should hit the drums harder, for both a soft and harder notes. Don't come back stupid replies like you are at the moment.

  • Actually what I prefer is people who actually understand how to play drums well, and don't just beat on it like it's their redneck wife. Your comment to the poster was not useful, it was a moronic put down claiming he was a pussy. You didn't say "try to use more loud dynamics, because a song in this style plays best with heavy percussion." I would have agreed with that, and even given you a thumbs up, if you had said that.

  • You could have at least spelled xylophone right :)

  • How u put the ez drummer sounds on the roland set? wish i could do that too, because i dont like the td6 sounds at all ;(

  • The DFH sampler is on an Apple Mac and the TD6 is triggering the sounds through MIDI.
