  • Wow! lol

  • what kind of snake was that? looked liked a Western Diamondback.

  • i jumped too

  • You said "finger" so you were bitten, was the snake poisonous?

  • are you ok? Did you get any venon inside you when it struck your finger?

  • I jumped when the snake struck my camera, and I still jump each time I watch the clip. Forrest M. Mims III

  • i think it's so funny we know that it's going to happen and we are pretty dure that it's going to be at the end, but we still jump. hahah

  • I so jumped!!!

  • By "explode," I mant that it burst into flight. This was quite surprising, for the hawk appeared to be in vary bad shape. Somehow it was able to lift off and spin around toward the woods almost instantly.

  • The hawk exploded in the air? Do you mean this literally?

  • Great article and nice video.

  • Thanks for the questions and comments. The snake is a rat snake. Both it and the hawk survived the fall. The hawk exploded into the air while I was examining it shortly after the snake left. Forrest M. Mims III

  • what did you do with the hawk after this? It is still alive in the video.

  • WOW!!!! that was amazing

  • wow. it jumped. I read ur article in the paper

  • What kind of snake was it?

  • A Bull Snake

  • i'm surprised the snake isn't attacking the hawk. or did it...?

  • It has no reason to attack a hawk, only defend itself from a hawks attempted predation.
