@brand0 Yah, the band sounds the same, but the vocals don't mesh properly. They should have just scrapped the name and let the previous body of work stand on it's own, instead of riding on it's coat tails.
@DrBeardo Yeah. I dont mind what they've done, but keeping the AIC name on it is like they are trying to compare it to when Layne was around, and we both know that there is just NO comparison to be had. Lets face it; its never going to be the same. I felt the vocals were strangely off, just as you. If they are going to try and find a singer who can compete, they need to find an even BETTER singer. The new guy is good, but I cant say that he even compares to Layne in any way shape or form.
@GTAfan421 Yeah, it's like the new Guns n' Roses, that band revolved around Slash, the vocalist he got to cover Axl does as good or better then the original version.
@Wesson4 its like spitting on everything they did in the past. It doesnt feel like AIC, it feels like a WANNABE AIC, I dont want a watered down version, or any version at all if they arent as good as what they were before.
@brand0@DrBeardo@GTAfan421@Wesson4 What in the fuck are you guys talking about? William DuVall is a good singer & harmonizes well with Jerry Cantrell (who, by the way, sings more than DuVall on the new album). Yeah sure, most fans will identify more with Layne Staley (one of the greatest singers that ever lived of course) as the singer back in the 90s but I'm glad they decided to make music again. Their new album is fucking fantastic in my opinion. Any AIC fan would love it!
Oh boo hoo! Even though it is sad that Layne is gone (he was an impressive vocalist) you can't forget that Jerry Cantrell was an internal part of the band, a bit more-so than Layne.
@brand0 Black Gives Way to Blue is the second best AiC album, and Jerry Cantrell can do whatever he wants with the name, as he always was the heart of the band.
Now make one with lyrics!

Layne would have loved AiC on 8bit; I read somewhere long time ago that he used to play Gameboy a lot on tour.
