At work I use the hvx200a but I plan to buy the hpx170. Aside from beeing slightly cheaper and doing everything the hvx200s do it's also a pound lighter! If the notes don't help I'll be glad to give you more step by step tips. Keep me posted on your purchase.
hey mate, well i now have the hpx170 sittin here in front of me.. got it yesterday :D
and like i said, it now makes sense to me what you wrote in your info.. and i've already recorded some slow mo and some fast motion stuff... my only problem is getting the footage to my PC... not a mac but a PC... i've used a 1394 (firewire) cable and a usb cable and both react the same way: 1394 device disconnect or usb device disconnect... and yes ive installed drivers. do you know how to fix this?
i just got a HVX and was looking for ideas and examples of variable framerate and timelapse shooting, originally i found your video of a news truck setting up for a mircowave feed. i liked that a lot so i checked out your other stuff!
I used Edius by Canopus. I have used Final Cut Pro a little as well a lot of Avid. Never heard of Edius until it was rolled out at work. It does quite well with every type of video you throw at it but the editing interface is quirky and sensitive. Other than that they are all the same to me. What do you use?
Thanks for the tips!!
Will try out now!
