This is an excellent iteration of this song. The sound quality for this video is also quite wonderful. The fullness sound of your ukulele is great. Little known fact: the intro to sweet child o mine was origionally made by slash as a joke because he said it sounded like "Carnival music" but the band loved it so they turned it into this song. (disclaimer: the above statement is completely true and was recorded in a documentary where slash shared this himself)

Ukulele s a chordophone classified as a plucked lute; it is a subset of the guitar family of instruments, generally with four nylon or gut strings or four courses of strings. (Wikipedia)

I looked into this debate a little more deeply and it turns out that the uke is actually related to the turtle shell drum. You see the uke is of course derived from the guitar which evolved from the bass guitar. The bass was based on the cello which is just a big violin. All of these have strings like a piano.

A piano has little mallets in it that hit the strings. You also use mallets on a glockenspiel which is an advanced version of a steel drum which is of course a modern version of the turtle shell drum. So you see the uke is just a turtle shell.
