  • @ugslamma Thank you so much!!!!

  • Harold Lee Rush, I too am a Chicago native, born, raised & bred on the infamous southside. Our history is so rich I'm always puffed up. I graduated from Chicago Vocational. The Chi-Lites will be my favorite group til I die. Now I look at my hometown & some places on the southside is a ghost compared to what it used to be in the seventies. Sometimes I cry about it...but time moves on. Your words echo in my heart; I couldn't say it better. We've lived in such diverse times...and beautiful times.

  • This is outstandingly BRILLIANT! I was born at Michael Reese and hung on each and every word of this. Harold you are a genius...BRAVO!

  • not even from the chi, but i felt that!

  • empress 722 is also known as the one and only fatimah malone

  • Harold lee rush is Black Chicago. He is also the best radio dj there is!

  • I am glad I sometimes have TOO MUCH TIME to do nothing. Just surfing today I happened upon this and I not only enjoyed the poetry but I got blue for a minute reminising about the love I had for CHICAGO radio in particular. I lived WVON, WBMX, HERB KENT, YOU and RICHARD STEELE. I recall a conversation with you when you inspired me to get my GED. I DID! I'll contact you via your website. Thanks for this post. Only a true CHICAGOAN can relate. You couldn't fit in THE AUDY HOME hah? LOL
